Found a couple of these on the golf course and gave them a try thinking they would be pretty spectacular. I just can't believe Titleist would come out with something like this; these things felt like an old Top Flite XL that had gotten harder over the years; in other words they felt as hard as a rock. I understand that these are for golfer who have swing speeds of 120 mph and mine is only 90. I couldn't even control the ball flight; every shot went low and to the right. In my opinion these are not even good for the short game and felt hard coming off the putter face. They have to be the worst balls I've ever tried. Customer Service Never had to use their customer service. Similar Products Used: Maxfli Patriot, Wilson Smart Core (one of my favorites), Top Flite XL2000 Extra Long and Exceptional Spin, lower cost Titleist balls that were all better than the Pro V1x. |

Here is a perfect scenario to test balls. I played 18 holes with the Callaway HX Tour, my regular ball, and then played 9 with the prov1x I won in a tournament. Here is the deal, the titleist is a very well manufactured, high quality ball, but it is no match for the hx tour. The prov1x is not as long off the tee, probably ten yards shorter, and spins the same amount. It also scuffs up more than the HX tour. i know that the prov1x is for players with higher swing speeds, and maybe that is the difference. My clubhead speed is 100mph. I just don't know why anyone would use this ball when the HX tour is clearly a better ball. Customer Service no need Similar Products Used: Prov1, HX Tour, Strata |

First I have to tell you about the conditions I play golf in. I live in the north of Germany. The weather is often very bad: there's bad wind and it often rains, so that the course is most of the time very wet. So, now my review. I played the normal Pro V1 and the Hogan Apex Tour, but I had the problem that the ball rolled off the green, and off the pin too often because of the conditions; ball roll with my 983K wasn't as far as I wanted; the fairways were too wet. Then I tried the X. Huu, what a ball!!! It doesn't roll of the green, it stays on the green near the pin, ball roll increased terrible; my drives now go 20 Yards further than before. I love how the ball performs in the wind, too. It stays were I want it to be. Some players say that you need high swing speeds (115+) to get the performance, but my swing speed is just 100 mph and the x goes further and still has enough spin. So if you play in wet and windy conditions this is the perfect ball for you!! Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Hogan Apex Tour; Pro V1 |

I'll take this over the regular Pro V1. The regular Pro V1 has gotten too soft over the years and it really feels like a warm marshmellow on the club face. I have a hard time believing a ball that soft will have any meaningful roll off the driver. Also, believe it or not, I actually feel like I get more spin on the wedges with the Pro V1x too. So the choice is obvious: longer drivers and more control with the wedges makes the Pro V1x the ball for me. |

I was not initially a fan of the Pro V1. It felt like a tennis ball being crushed against the face of my driver. I like my golf balls slightly more "al dente". Along came the Pro V1x! Just right, long in flight, and lots of spin off scoring clubs. The cover also (thus far) seems to hold up well. Great ball. Similar Products Used: Ben Hogan Hawk, Maxfli M3, Precept U-tri. |

Some reviewer were complaining about this ball because it wasn't spinning enough. Well for me, that ball has a ton of spin, it's long it feel soft but the only problem with it is that each time I was hitting a short iron, I was putting a big smile on my ball. There are possibly to reason to that. The first one is that when I played this past week, the temperature was about 8 degree celsius at the Links at Hiawatha. The second one is that I am a very very high spin player. At the expo-golf in Montreal last March, I went to the Ping sales booth to try the launch monitor. Here are the result of my first swing using a 7 degree Si380 with a Grafalloy Blue Stiff: Swing Speed:111.8 MPH Ball Speed:154 MPH Launch Angle:16.8 Degree SideSpin:Center (that means almost no SS) Back Spin:6400 RPM ( Pretty good for a 14 years old don't you think ? ) AS you can see, backspin was one of my problem but my 975D put a lot less spin on a ball than the Si380. So that's why I've been able to carry my ProV1x at 140 yards of the pin on the 18 hole at the Links at Hiawatha (from the blue tee its about 295 carry with the wind in my face) So overall it is a very good ball but I'm really anxious to try the ball in good condition since the season in Quebec isn't start because we had a snow storm on Sunday. If you have the money, BUY! Customer Service Awesome, my balls had my name on it because of the free personalization during Chritsmas. Similar Products Used: ProV1, ProV1* and a lot more. |

Very long, with a piercing trajectory...5 of my longest drives of all time have been with this ball. Carry + roll. On the downside, much of what I gain on driver distance I lose on wedge play and putting. This is a fairly hard ball. In the winter time, VERY hard. Would I rather hit these and then a 8 iron into the green, or another ball and a 6 iron into the green? Right now I am leaning towards the 6 irons -- it will likely hold the green better than this ball will with a 8 iron. After purchasing a new driver to get more carry for good all year distance( winters can be real wet here), I started hitting the ball nice and high with A LOT more carry than my previous driver (10.5* vs 9*) but lost a good 30 yards in overall distance. It was pretty obvious that I need to either change the shaft or change the ball to reduce backspin and as it is slightly cheaper to try new a ball, I thought Ill give the Vx a go. Well bugger me if this ball now carrys as far as my previous drivers total distance!!!! and I still get about 20-30yards roll on top!!!. One big caveat with this ball is to get the best from it you have these conditions: High speed speed- defenately 110mph or more( Mine is 119mph driver- 109mph irons) High driver flight whatever your loft is, because ball will stay in the air forever. Windy conditions- The ball not only holds its line with side winds it also penetrates well into headwinds. You like a harder ball- this ball is definately harder than others, but still has good feel. Even with my low handicap, I used to struggle getting pitches and chips pin high because of too much check. This ball fits me to a tee!!! All though I have only played this ball in a couple of rounds, it has definately made a difference to my score by a couple a strokes. Mainly to do with straighter ball flight in windy conditions (and boy does it get windy here) and using at least 1-2 clubs less on approches. So if you carry the ball 275 yards+, play in the wind alot and like a firm feeling ball, this ones for you. And untill they make it even better, this is the only ball I will use.
