First let me say this X ball is amazing. I didn't know if I had the swing speed to really benefit from using this ball at only 105mph or so swing speeds go up and down so its all relative, but I have been driving this ball to places I never thought possible and to top it off I'm hitting 1 to 2 clubs less into every green with drop and stop spin which I prefer, I dont need the ball dancing all over the green so its perfect for me I have finally took all my trial balls out of my bag and I'm rolling with just one try it yourself you may be plesantly suprised I was the very first time I hit it!!!!!!!!!! I am a little surprised to here some of the comments from recent reviewers about the X ball. I enjoy trying different balls during casual rounds and because I belong to a club have a pretty good idea how far my standard drives go and what irons are required into greens and on par 3's. So I can share what I have experienced. My Driver swing speed is 105. Not considered fast enough by many to benefit from the X balls characteristics. However I hit the X ball 10 yards further than the regular Pro V1 (some of that because it rolls farther due to less spin). This would be reason enough for many to switch to the X, but I actually maintain my handicap with my short game. I find the X to spin just the right amount for me, but do agree the Pro V1 and many other top quality balls spin more. One huge advantage of the X is less spin off the irons. I find this advantageous as I am able to use at the very least 1 club less into the green, especially into the wind where I tend to get up-shooters with mid to short irons with high spin balls. I have tried a few balls that have playing characteristics like the X, but every one has durability shortcomings that make them just to expensive to play. They scuff and scar on the first full pitching wedge (and I play Mizuno forging that do not have sharp grooves). We pay around $39.00 a dozen around here for the ProV1x, but I am able to play the ball for three rounds, then put it in the back up pile and play it again in the fall during the leaf rule season. I would not recommend for very slow swingers or anyone who has trouble getting height on their shots, but for high ball hitters with average swing speeds this ball performs. As for the comments that vanity is what sells this golf ball, the guys I play with would play a Flying Lady if it gave them a better shot at winning Customer Service Very Good Similar Products Used: Nike, Hogan, Precept, Maxfli, Top Flight. |

i used to play of a 12 handicap and i was using a callaway hx 2 piece ball. at the time i thought that this was a long ball but when i went to get my new clubs fitted the pro said that this would be a good ball for me because my swing speed is around the 115 mark so i tried it. after about a month of using it i have lowered my handicap down to a six. the reason is because with the prov vx i was hitting my drives close to 300 meters average and was hitting short irons into greens. i think the average player shoud maybe see their club pro and try and find a ball that suits their game style because the provx is not for everyone. |

I haven't been golf that long, only about 5 years. Over the years, I've tried just about every golf ball out there, economically fueling the industry. Golf is a funny game in that it just has to work. The ball needs to be in the cup in the fewest number of strokes possible. If money is not a constraint, then my 3 golf ball choices would be: 1. Titlest Pro V1x and Pro V1 2. Strata Tour Ace and Ben Hogan Apex Tour's 3. Nike TA or Precept Tour Premium & LS These golf balls provided me with best distance, accuracy, spin, and control over many rounds. By the way, Maxfli M3's would have been my choice #4, likewise for their A10's. Unforunately, other major competitive brands never really worked for me, in particular Callaway & Srixon. I can't 100% recall, but I believe I'd shot my rounds in the 70's with all top 3 ball choices above. Pro V1x is the furthest while striked in the sweet zone, Strata Tour Ace spun the most - a true drop hop stop action, and Nike/Precept were best all around control like the Maxfli's that I've mentioned. Good luck and enjoy the game. Customer Service N/A. Similar Products Used: See above. |

I agree with the majority of the reviews on this site and manufacturer claims that this ball is definitely designed for golfers with swing speeds in excess of 100 mph. I have a moderate swing speed and normally use the precept laddie (which I love). However, the pro shop had these on sale and I decided to experiment. I lost 15 yards on my driving distance and 5-10 yards on each of my irons. The reason is simply because my swing speed did not allow me to compress these balls and thus a loss of distance. These were also much firmer feeling off of the putter, which I did not like. If you swing fast enough I am sure these are a great ball, but if you do not then stick to a lower compression ball. |

Whoa, I can see there is alot of debate over this ball. It is long, straight, and with less spin both on full swings and around the green just like advertised. Feels harder than Pro V1 and other 3 piece balls but not as hard as that top flite distance crap. Practice putting with it before you play for any money with it. A couple of holes and you should be fine if you are honest with your game. Customer Service PERFORMS AS ADVERTISED!!!! Titleist have always claimed that this ball is for fast swinging better players, so to the last two reviewers go back to your pinnacles and get on with it. Better balls do work, especially around, and on the greens, but the simple fact is that too many players try to use tour standard equipment that just isn't suitable. Thats not the manufacturers fault its the consumers, although really they shouldn't offer clubs like the R7 TP in the first place. If you were good enough you'd be on the tour already. Its the same with the Pro V1x, 99.99% of amateurs shouldn't use them but they do. Its not a bad ball and so shouldn't be reviewed as such, titleist are just responding to consumer demand and there is obviously a market or they wouldn't sell them. |

$95 AUD a dozen. Whoa, that's alot of money for a distance ball! And make no mistake that's what they are, but only to players with swing speeds over 100mph. To the rest of you they are merely rocks that will give you less distance. I have used them and liked them, but have found better balls that go nearly as far. If you've got the clubhead speed to use these, then distance shouldn't be a problem anyway, so there's still no valid reason to use them. There are much better short game balls than these eg all HX, UTRI tour, Hi-Brid tour etc. They don't check up on chips around the green and feel like rocks off the putter. For slow swingers there are far better distance balls than these eg.laddie, so-lo, ad333 etc for half the price. My advice would be to leave these for the big boys with bigger egos who think distance is everything and have more money than sense. Customer Service Would never waste my money on them so won't find out Similar Products Used: Callaway HX blue, black (Blue is the best ball available, black a little too hard) UTRI tour (fantastic ball, better than either titleist) Srixon AD333 (Basically a softer ProV1X at half the price and can be used by any swing speed) |

longest ball i have ever played. if your playing the regular pro v1..SWITCH! the X is atleast 20 yards longer. i get just the right amount of spin. the regs get way too much spin in my opinion. definetly a great ball to have in your bag. Bought a sleeve of these this weekend looking to give them a test spin. I normally hit the Pro V1 and NXT. Seems like there are alot of mixed reviews about this ball concerning distance and feel. The Pro V1x was VERY long off my driver and I got about the same distance off my irons. It appears to be more forgiving than the Pro V1. This is most likely due to it having a lower spin rate than the V1 The ball is not a soft as others I have played and would take some getting used to. Durability is very good with this ball. I played the same ball for the entire round and I was only able to leave one tiny mark on it from a wedge shot. Overall this is a great ball, but I'll most likely stick with the Pro V1.
