After reading hundreds of reviews I've decided to write one. Basically I play to a 6 handicap with a driver swing speed of 105MPH - There has been a lot written about needing a swing speed in excess of 115 MPH to get the best results out of this ball. I have no idea if that is true.
The Pro V1x is a very good ball. It has low driver spin off the tee and tries extremely hard to correct your mistakes and find the fairway. It holds it's line very well in the wind. The trajectory is a medium high on all shots at least for me.
The ball usually stops within a yard of its pitch mark on most iron approach shots and stops on a dime for full wedge shots.
Very good putting ball that holds it's line and has just enough softness that you feel like you can be agressive around the greens.
Wedge shots around the green will check but not as much as the Pro V1...the V1x has a little more run to it. Durability is solid as you will be able to play a full round with it.
There is really nothing bad to say about this ball except for me I would like a little more spin around the greens. It is longer than the V1 off the tee with a little more boring trajectory.
This is a solid ball and one you should definitely put in play.

i am a ball nut and i have tried almost everything. Prov1s are not targeted at me seeing i am a 14 handicap. BUT, im a sucker for marketing and fell for the trap. I prefer the x cos its lighter (imo), most premium balls that i have used (bridgestone b330s, nxt tour, utri tour, one platinum) travel about the same distance. BUT short game is the telling factor i believe. before, a birdie a round is like once in 5 or 6 rounds. 2 in a round was achieved for my personal best of 7 over. (and never after) after switching to prov1x's, i have played 4 rounds and have achieved 5 birdies. 2 in 2 games! for me thats like unheard of!! I now play about 9 or 10 over (which probably calls for a handicap revision, BUT not before i win some money off my buddies) switch to prov1x, and feel the difference!! AND, yes it is pricey but if it gives me 2 birdies a round.... i will pay that money!

This ball is far the best ball out on the market. Even though some of the competitors such as Nike One or Callaway are trying to catch up, Titleist ProV1x pretty much owns them all. No BS: I did really get 10 yards increase in my driver without sacrificing the high spin off the short irons. The price may be high but if you got the ball with custom logo for free around this year, you did get what you deserved for the 58 bucks you paid.

This ball, by far is the BEST ball i hav ever played with. WHen i first read other people's reviews, I thought how much of an BS it is for them to get extra 20+ yards just by changing a ball, but it did REALLY HAPPEN! STill managing the distance, the ball had a ultimate spin to it. Drop and stop seriously. THe ball worked really well in the winds able to penatrate and not be soo much affected by it. Even though the ball is really pricy, I would recommend this ball to highly skilled player; cuz if you shoot somewhat like 85~90, then you won't be able to get a single aspect this ball has to offer. This thing about swing speed is all a hoax, since i personally don't have a fast swing, but the ball still worked for me VERY well. I would suggest the use of this ball at a fairly flat water-less golf course so that you won't be losing it every 2 holess (that is unless your confident about your accuracy).

I have reviewed the older ProV1X on other occassions but only recently tried the 'newer' version. It's still a good ball but I can't honestly tell the difference between this ball and the old version. It feels the same, flies the same, has the same distance and checks about the same. As the old ball was the undisputed best among low markers how much better could they make it? This is a good ball but as it isn't any different from the previous version it still isn't my stand alone favourite, and at the same price as the old version I won't be buying them. I will be buying the 'old' version though if I can get it for a reduced price.

This is the best ball I've ever played. Granted I don't have the fastest swing speed - about 100-102 mph, I still love the characteristics this ball has to offer. I started playing this ball for one reason only: lower ball flight. The regular Pro V1 gets up way too high for me because of its high spin rate. The V1x lowers the flight because of its modified dimple pattern as well as a firmer core. On iron and wedge shots, I was still able to get the ball to stick and even spin back in some cases. Again, I'm not a big hitter (7-iron approx. 160-165 yards). Short pitches checked up fine as well when needed. I wasn't entirely convinced that the Pro V1x was truly worth the $40+ on the price tag before. However, after playing with it for a few rounds, I firmly believe that it is the best ball out on the market. But then again, how much is distance, feel, control, and spin worth to you? Try this ball out before you answer...

I would agree with the previous poster that this ball won't benefit the AVERAGE golfer. But for low handicap players with higher swing speeds, there is no better ball IMHO--and I've tried them all. Great distance, perfect amount of spin, putts great, what more can i say? There are plenty of pros and top amateur players that are not on the Titleist payroll.

Yet another overpriced golf ball from the folks at Titleist! Again the PROV1X does not provide any additional benifits then other less expensive 3-piece balls! The Prov1x is not a newer type ball it is just has higher compresion which means it requires a higher swing speed. Other brands such as Dunlops Loco Pro & Srixons HRX balls are just as good if not better! DOn't pay for marketing or to pad a Tour Players wallet who is paid to use this overpriced ball! This ball does not provide you with any additinal benifits then other less expensive 3-piece balls! DOn't buy into the hype leve it for the players who are softer then a Maxfli Noodle!!!!!!!

My swing speed is about 90 mph which is far below the threashold designed of this ball. I see many LPGA players with slower swing speed use this same ball? This ball has continued to provide me with 10 to 15 more yards off the tee - perhaps because of more roll? It stopped well on iron shots and I can't spin the ball back anyway. If it is affordable, why not? Pro Golf Discount sells the X-Out's at $24.95 per doz. Have fun!
