I just played in my first tourney and my father gave me a box of the Pro V1x to play with cause I usually play with whatever is on sale. This one day has changed my mind about balls forever. I don't know if it was the tourney that made me focus more or it was the ball. It was probably a little of both but I have decided to play with good balls from now on. I have a Cobra driver, Cobra 3w with a X-100 steel shafts, Ping i10s and Cleveland CG12s. I know, people always tell me that I could be much longer with a graphite shaft but I like the control that steel offers. I tend to swing out of my ass on drives and this ball takes off! I don't know what my swing speed is but my usual drive is carry 280, (toss up 50/50 to hit a fairway though, gulp). I lose about 10 yards compared to a full on distance ball but the feel on the par 3s and around the greens make up for it.

I have never played my irons so well especially on the par 3s. Direction of the ball is great. It is responsive enough to control a fade or draw into the wind and hold the line. I find that the balls like the Callaway HX tour56 are too soft for me as off hits will spin to never-never land.

I played with 1 sleeve for all 18 and I found that the balls did not scuff too bad. Definately better wear than the HX Tour 56. 1 sleeve was enough for me as this ball is fricking expensive! Remember, I play with whatever is on sale or people give me but I think this has changed. Perhaps this is the price of a little self-esteem. I am looking forward to trying the Pro V1.

First of all, you need to be a good player to play these balls or at least have a consistent swing speed of over 100mph.

There is a reason that Titlesit Pro V1x's are the most played ball on the PGA Tour. They simply out-preform the other balls on the market.

Distance is very good. Maybe a hair shorter than some other balls like the TM Red & TM Black.

Control is fantastic. These balls hold the line you put them on.

Spin is great as well. Not as much spin as the Pro V1's, but sometimes that is a good thing. The spin off the driver is optimal for many ball flights, especially a straight to slight draw shot.

Feel is also top of the line, but not the best. These balls do tend to be a bit harder than others, but again, you will be hard pressed to find a ball that has the ability to do what these do on and around the greens.

Durability could be better, but they don't scuff as easy as the Pro V1's and some other softer balls out there.

**REMEMBER** you need a high swing speed to play this ball. I'm not advocating that you swing from your heels with this ball, but you should have a good tempo swing that is at least 100mph with your driver.

I think the biggest knock on these balls has to be the price of them. That's understandable, not everyone has $40 to drop on 12 balls. But when you want the best ball on the market, you can find other ways of attaining them for cheaper (eBay - roughly $1.50 for practically mint Pro V1x's).

Got back to golf recently after many years off. Driver swing speed 110-115mph. Used Pro V1 and found spun too much, making shots into the wind very difficult to control. 8/9/PW shots went straight up. These fly lower, longer, and great into the wind. Less control/spin in 70-100 yard range is the compromise. Feel harder when putting, but not unduly so. Very durable - three rounds with hardly a mark. V1s barely lasted one round.

To start off, for anyone who is going to write a review about this ball please understand and take into consideration what type of player it is meant for. If you are someone who has a swing speed less than 100 mph, you won't experience the benefits from the change in dimple pattern for trajectory and compression rating for distance.

Continuing on, I'm quite happy playing this ball everytime I step on the course. I play regularly and have a swing speed of 115 mph with a very high ball flight. I benefit greatly from the design of the V1x to gain distance and control. The dimple pattern takes my trajectory from high to mid/mid-high which adds distance along with the compression that helps catapult the ball off the club face.

I'm an advocate for playing equipment suited for your game. If you are a strong swinger or have an extremely high trajectory and play multiple times a week, this ball is for you(Callaway HX Tour is also extremely nice). This is a great ball for competitive play. Also, the price for top of the line balls is extremely inflated. For the casual player who has a weekly outing and loses a few balls a round, go for something cheaper. The NXT series has soft feel and great distance at a very affordable price. There's nothing worse than paying $50 to play a round, grab a $10 six pack, and lose $20 worth of golf balls on top of that.

Bottom line, this ball does exactly what it is designed to do. However for most golfers I honestly believe it's not worth the money unless you are in tournament play. Many other balls have the distance and feel that will make you just as happy and allow you to buy 2 dozen for the price of 1 box of Pro V1x.

I recently won $35 in a tournament and decided to try some new golf balls (having already used ProV1, B-330 Tour, Hogan Hawk, Apex tour and Wilson staff TX4, all top shelf balls). These prov1-X's are about the same distance as TX4's but with a lot more spin and soft feel (not as soft as Prov1 though). The first week I used these, I shot an 85 at par 72 and won the tournament with 40 points. I decided to keep using them, and then the next week in windy conditions, I tried them again. They were excellent and were great to keep low. I ended up shooting 79 at par 71, and won the tournament with 46 points in stableford. I would recommend these for people wanting straight, long drives but still with decent short game feel and spin.

This is my first review ever on golf. I have been playing only 2 years. Most of my score was between 108 to 115. As a new golfer, I personally thought that ball would not give anything to your score. Last week, I first tried Pro V1x and I was really serprised with my performance. I got the lowest score of 95. Wow! this ball provided me soft feeling and it would not go off the green on the approach shots. It was great. If you are new golfer, then do not forget to choose the good ball as well. It will definitely give you something.

I love this ball! I have to disagree with many of you since I don't have a very high swing speed, ~ 95 MPH and this ball still goes further for me than any other ball I've played. For me this goes further than the PRO V1 although not much. However the PRO V1 spun TOO much for me. The Pro V1x spins a bit less and putts just as well. It doesn't feel any harder to me either.

This is the best ball on the market hands down. I do a lot of experimenting with balls and have found the Titleist Pro V1x to be the longest balata ball by a country mile. It also has great spin characteristics, although not quite as much as others.
I've been playing for nearly three years and have had my three best ever scores playing the Pro V1x, they were 68, and two 69s.
Nothing more to be said, if money is not an issue these balls should be in your bag even if your swing speed is not up past 110mph.

I don't care what most people say; golf is an expensive sport. To pay $40+ for a golf ball is bordering on ludicrous v. what they were a few years ago. Due to that fact, I did not play Titleist (Balls); (I love their clubs) because of the cost per round factor. They just didn't seem to give the premium performance for the premium dollar paid. Then Titleist came up with the ProV1s and ProV1x's. Now THESE are fine balls. They give longer distance than before and spin like mad. I can back up a ProV1 sometimes 30' (and off a green) so I use the ProV1x's when I play in tournaments. I hit a fairly high ball and achieve a lot of spin with my wedges, so the ProV1x is a better fit for me. They also fly a little lower; definitely off the irons, which is better in a high wind state like Oklahoma where I live and play. Try them; you will like them for tournament play. However, if you want a HOT ball for every day play; try the Calloway's. The Warbirds (about $19/doz here) are 4-5 yards longer than other balls I have tried and they really don't have that bad a problem with spin/holding greens. (I do play at a pretty soft course as to greens, however...haven't tried them on a truly hard/dry course). Would be interested in seeing what people think about an all round, every day ball that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. Any thoughts?

Customer Service

Titleist does NOT have the best customer service. I have tried emailing them about registering clubs, etc. several times at their website. I usually do NOT get any response.
