Awesome ball, did not lose any distance but gained more shot control, ball workability, and AMAZING spin coming into the green. First time today made the ball look like Phil Mickelson it hit once and zipped back 4 feet. While the ball backed up away from the hole it was cool to have all my friends amazed at the spin.

Having been used to hitting mostly 90 compression 2 piece distance ball I was drawn initially to the Rule 35 Red Ball. The ball certainly had the firm feel I was expecting, and I got good distance from it. Overall no complaints. Then I tried the Blue ball and it opened up a new world for me. I love the softer feel of the ball from short irons and from the putter. It does not spin as much as a Balata, but the spin is still significant with the ball backing up on a number of greens. The biggest surprise was in the driving and long irons. I expected to see a reduction in length and there was none, the distance was significantly further than I could hit a Balata ball. I really liked the ball, played great with it, but I also feel it is overpriced.

When I bought these balls, I did so with the intentions of declaring them the "most overated" balls in the biz. $35 for 10 balls sounded rediculous. After trying them, among others, I love them. In fact, they are my regular ball now. The distance is average to above average. The thing that I love about these balls is the feel; both off of the clubface and the putter. The cover is nice and soft. I have heard that many people are surprised at how soft the firm feel is and how firm the soft feel is. I have tried both, and can only tell a little differance. Both balls check up well on greens. Durability is about average to below average. Value is well below average. If you can find them, go buy the callaway practice balls NOW! They go for $20/dozen at golfsmith. This is only while supplies last, and this ball has only been allocated to select stores. It is exactly the same ball, with the exception of "practice" printed on the side. Needless to say, this is a ball for mid to low handicappers. If you lose 12 balls a round, look elsewhere.

I was originally uninterested in this ball as I like the Strata TPs and felt no need to change, but I got a box for Christmas and decided to give them a shot. I am glad I did. While I agree with a number of the reviewers that indicated that these scuff easily, so do most "soft" balls. If you are playing a soft ball, this comes with the territory. While I didn't find much difference in distance, the place where I REALLY liked these balls were on the greens. They feel great off the putter and unlike 99% of the balls out there, the alignment text is actually large enough to be helpful in lining up your putts. My first round with these I shot a 77 with less than 30 putts! They are expensive, but if that is not an issue, give these a try, I think you'll like!

I have to admit. I like these balls. Great distance, great feel. Lot's of spin. The cover is a bit fragile and got chewed up on fullish sand and lob wedge shots. However, at 35 bones for ten balls they are not a good value as my Precept Tour Premiums are $30 per dozen. I'll stick to the Precepts.

I got a pack of these balls recently from my brother as a gift. He had a bunch made up with logos. I decided to test them out. I went to a local course on a cold day, nobody around, and played two balls at once. Callaway Red and Pinnacle Gold LS. After 18 holes side by side, I came to the conclusion that there was virtually no differenc in ballflight, length, spin or accuracy. In fact the only noticable difference was the callaway cover shredded with every solid iron hit and they are $3 MORE per ball. These balls are HYPE and HIGH PRICE!! Here's a tip try Precept LADY's, they are the real deal!!

Two months ago I was playing the blue and felt that I was sacraficing some good distance. I finally made the switch from the soft feel to the firm and played wonderfully. I added about 20yards! and also hit the ball straighter. The night before I found these great things out a freeze advisory was in affect for my state and the next morning the greens were like concrete so i couldn't tell how the spin was. Firm does'nt putt as true but the rest of the great characteristics of this ball will compensate for that. If you are looking to add on distance, hit the ball straighter, make more putts, and get more up and downs, then the Callaway Red Ball is the ball for you!

I'm disappointed by the lack of good reviews for this ball.
This is an outstanding golf ball. It's a great combination of distance and spin. The first time I played it, it felt like cheating.
Unfortunately, this ball is not rating as high as the Titleist Pro V1 because of a few guys who write golf ball reviews on what they fish out of a pond.
Truth be told, it's as good as the Pro V1, and so far, much easier to find.
My only complaint, the ten pack. Callaway, if you're reading this (and I doubt you are) give us a dozen balls for our hard-earned dollars.

Bought 6 dozen of the practice boxes and actually talked the kid at Sport Chalet let me swap out the Red for all Blue. Now I'm sorry, I don't think the blue ball is longer but it REALLY spins but the problem is is scuffs badly. In three or four holes I can take it down to the yellow under coating, this ball has extra labels and with the yellow the ball looks busy. I'm going to try the Red Ball. Played a ProVI this weekend, jury is still out, just read that Maxfli is coming out with "Solid" Revolution, long as ProVI but with more spin -- sounds sick

Whilst the ball is not cheap, it is certainly worth every penny for the low handicap player. It is long off the tee, and spins into the greens extremely well. By far the best all round ball I have ever played. Does anyone want a box of unused Strata Tour Professionals?
