I have long been a Titleist only ball guy. I usually play the NXTs. I've tried the Pro V1 and the x and they're great balls. I got a free sleave sent to me by Callaway a month ago and gave them a spin (pun intended). These balls are very, very long. They spin well also but not out of control like the proV1 on a full wedge shot. They check up and stop. For me it's the just the right combination of distance, feel, and spin. This is a great ball. My only caveat is that they don't wear very well. With my moderate swing speed (low 90mph range) I can easily get 18 hole out of one, but, my son who's 16, with a much faster swing, rips them up pretty good in half the holes. At a cost of $39.99 they're expensive but still $5.00 less than the ProV1, and in my humble opinion, a superior ball for my game.

I really love this ball. It flies off the clubface on your drives and really holds the greens quite well. It also has a great feel to it on those well struck shots. My only complaint is durability. I sent a ball on its first flight and when it was time to putt, I noticed that it had a scuff mark on it and the ball had only hit a damp fairway and green. If Callaway can correct this problem, they will very nearly have made the perfect ball.

I've used just about every ball on the market, and to say that I had high expectations of this ball is a bit of an understatement. These expectations were based on reviews, as well as they pro shop employee who flat out told me "this is the best ball on the market". For the most part, my expectations were adequately met. This ball is, undoubtedly, the longest ball I've ever played. I can't tell you how long my drives were, but I can tell you that I hit my 8 iron 165 yards, which is nearly 10 yards further than I hit the Pro V1. The trajectory on this ball is sky high, yet it doesn't seem to rise (which I really like); I may not be generating enough backspin however. On an approach shot to a par 4 (I hit a poor drive), I hit my 4 iron 205 yards, and when it hit the green, it released no more than 12 inches! Incredible. I can not, however, seem to generate the tremendous amounts of backspin that others have touted. Despite having a very fast swing speed, and having a relatively steep angle of decent, my balls only check, but don't back up. This may just be an issue with my swing. My main complaint is the durability. I cannot, in good conscience, rave about a ball that cannot last more than 3 holes. With a brand new ball, I cut 3 different balls on a single swing (8 iron, PW, gap wedge). This may, again, be the result of my steep swing. This ball was also quite soft. I am amazed that such a loooooong ball could be so soft. This is my favorite aspect of this ball. Overall, this ball is among the best I've ever played, but due to the high price and aweful durability, I'll probably not spring for another box.

This is it. No more trying new balls. This is the best ball I've ever played. It goes far off the driver, spins the ideal amount. I've had trouble as of late putting too much juice on the ball with my wedges so that a shot that is perfect ends up short. And it stays incredibly round. Its great to mark the ball, look at the ball and feel like you are putting with a brand new ball. I can play 18 holes with one ball. Premium price but if you are a good player you will love it.

I would highly recommend this ball. It was suggested to me by a pro shop. I had been playing the Strata Tour ultimate 2 but they don't make them anymore. I don't like the ProV 1. It feels too hard. This ball is soft and very long.

Firstly let me say I'm not usually a Callaway ball fan - I didn't like the original CB or HX Blue or Red Balls - But this HX Black Tour ball was recommended to me and is Excellent ! Very Long off the driver/fairway woods 10 yrds longer seems to be a good estimate against other long balls - I've gained 5 yards extra off the Mid Irons - Great ball flight - Very stable on windy days - Good durability - Spins well - Chips & Putts well. I've recently changed to an Odyssey white hot putter and just found out the putter insert is of the same material as the ball cover - and it now putts even better. I've tested this ball out against other previous favourites in friendly rounds - In tests I'm generally 7 over for the front 9 (precept etc) 5 over for the harder back nine (hx tour)- I've repeated this test using different balls and hole combinations with very similar results - The HX Black is 2-3 shots a round better - my handicap has fallen from 16 to 14 since using this ball - Highly Recommended.

Picked up a sleeve about a month ago and really enjoyed these balls while they lasted. The distance really impressed me. I honestly picked up an additional 10 yards off the driver. I couldn't believe it. I thought all the hype was total b.s., but this ball comes off the driver face hot and really punches its way through the wind. Very, very impressive. I got about two rounds out of each ball before retiring them. They were still playable, but I'm one of those picky types who doesn't like playing a worn-looking ball. Picked up a full dozen yesterday at the local Golf Galaxy for $35 and felt like I stole them at that price. I loved the Callaway Rule 35 (red) while they were available and have been turned off to all other Callaway balls until now. This ball putts well and sticks well on wedge shots. Smokin' ball! The new HX Red is now slouch either, but HX Tour is longer and feels a bit better off the clubface. If nothing else, at least pick up a sleeve and give the HX Tour a try. Very nice.

I've always been reluctant to shell out 40 dollars for a dozen golf balls, but since I had a goft certificate why not. Great ball! I noticed it gave me an additional 10 yards on driver over the good two piece balls I normally use, DT Solo and Callaway Red. However, I know that the ball held a better line and the bite into the green was amazing. I sent many low balls into the green on my last round and they stuck! I normally average about 5 GIR, but this ball helped me hit 8 GIR in the last two rounds. I was also able to flop shots from 10-15 yards right at the pin and they'd stop on a dime and give me change. They putt ok. Bottom line is, if I can hit more GIRs my score will drop, putting is the not as much of an issue. I'm sure this ball will help me get into the 70s at least once in my next five rounds. I've found a ball, now let's hope I don't loose too many.

This ball is awesome. I have hit several 380 plus yard drives in the past week and consistently hit 310 or more on to the fairway. You can spin it from off the tee, or approaching the green. This ball holds it's line very well in the wind and the hexagons look really cool compared to the circles on all other balls.

Customer Service

I got my name put on the ball and it didn't take long at all and they were very quick.

If you like Callaway products, you'll love this ball. It is the best all-around ball premium ball they make. If you're worried that women play this ball, don't. Who needs more distance? A woman seems to need it more, but don't we all? You'll get it with this ball along with great feel, a nice ball flight, and better durablility. Try one, you'll probably like it....
