I like the feel of a softer ball. I had been hitting the BigBertha Blue for a couple of years now and really like the feel around the greens. A friend of mine suggested that I pay the extra $20 to play the HX Tour and wow...what a difference! The feel around the greens was better and the distance was like night and day difference. These balls are really nice and will give you the best of all worlds. My only complaint with the HX Tour is that they seem to scuff fairly easily. Other than that, a great ball with great feel. I'm sticking with this ball. For me it provides the best combination of distance, feel and control. The Pro V is marginally better around the greens and feels a litle softer, but the HX Tour is definitely longer off of every club. The only thing that I don't like is the "clacky" sound off of the putter, but there is nothing to complain about in performance. I have long enjoyed the Titleist NXT for its overall value. (I buy all my balls from lostgolfballs.com which have top quality used balls that don't even look used.) Anyway, I got a dozen HX Tour and they are now my new favorites. I play a 10.5* driver. The driver ball flight is obviously high but is now a good 10-15 yards longer. Ball stopping is excellent, but it's the putting I really love. Using my White Hot Odyssey putter with the HX Tour is unbelievable. I can be aggressive and get a great roll with this ball. This ball is for anyone who appreciates soft feel on the green. Yes, it is a high performance ball, but if you think it isn't for you, play one hole with a generic 'distance ball' and then the next hole with the HX Tour. You won't go back to the distance ball. Let me start by saying that I am a firm believer in the fact that a golf ball is not going to make a difference in what scores you shoot. With that aside, I like this ball. It does seem to go a litter further than the Pro V1 (although my longest drive, 385 yards, is with a Pro V1), and it feels really good off of my irons (Mizuno MP-30 and MP-37). I bought these balls at Fiddlersgreen in Oregon and they were $6.00 cheaper than the Pro V's, however all other shops I have been to have been charging about the same price now that Phil Mickelson has been playing for Callaway. Lastly, the ball does scuff easier than the Pro V. Customer Service Don't know Similar Products Used: Every ball out there. |

This ball flies great, I live in a windy place and this ball just flies straight and is uneffected by the wind. I have hit most of the top of the line balls for 05' and this ball is as long and spins as good as them all. The ball does cut up a little bit, but I have played 18 with one ball that has gotten cut up and the wedge marks in the ball don't seem to effect the flight or the spin of the ball on the green, just a little ugly to look at when you are over it. This ball isn't for everyone, if you don't have the swing speed to compress the ball, you'd be as good off to play the Hogan Hawk or something lower compression to take full advantage. I tried the HX Red 3 Piece late last year and found that they are a great distance ball and do stop as well as the HX Tour. But because of a lack of availability here in Ireland, I bought the HX Tour. "Better be worth the money", I told myself. I do not know why shops keep pushing the Pro V1 on to golfers. I practiced on my home course and took out a new Pro V1 (latest version here) and tried them against one another. I drove the HX at least 15 yards past the Pro V1 (sometimes 20 yards). I did this at least 7 or 8 times to be absolutely sure. Its like that lad Rocco Mediate says "It just hangs longer and doesn't budge offline". As regards iron shots to the green, once again there was at least 10 yards in the difference. Now, I cannot spin the ball, no matter how soft the cover is, so it doesn't matter to me if it doesn't back up or not. Once it bounces and then stops I am happy. The HX did not disappoint in this respect either. Durability. Up until 2 months ago I had a set of Cobra SSi irons (Stainless) and 2 Cobra M Wedges. Recently I got a set of Titleist 690CB's and 3 Mizuno Tour Style Wedges. When I had the Cobra's, I would literally cut the sh*te out of the ball. First wedge shot and voila. Since I got my new forged clubs, the balls do not cut up. I used the ball for an entire round and a few light marks, but it was still good enough for another round. Maybe its the grooves, or maybe forged clubs are more gentle. Not sure, but I'm only telling it like it is. Chipping and putting - The ball feels nice around the green. Checks up good enough. I play off 10 so a lower handicap golfer could probably be more creative with this ball than I would. It feels excellent off the putter. My only gripe is that the ball starts to turn off white after a short period of time. Its the only fault with the ball. This is probably down to the packaging that the balls come in. The box of three is not completely closed. The viewpoints on the box are open, which allows air/moisture to come in contact with the ball. So if they are sitting on display in the shop, they are being exposed to the moisture in the air. Me thinks. Finally, its a great ball and like I said I don't know why shop assistants keep pushing the Pro V1. Its not up to the standard of the HX. If it was, they wouldn't have introduced another upgrade of their present ball. Callaway's HX tour ball speaks for itself, its in circulation since last year and they haven't altered it. If you're not obsessed with spinning the ball, then buy it. If you're happy to stop it dead on the green. Its worth the cash. And if you can't part with the readies, then get the HX Red 3 Piece. Does just as good a job. Similar Products Used: Pro V1, Pro V1x |

Tried these balls as a replacement/alternative to the ProV1 as I had heard and read some good things about these balls. Have to say I was a little disappointed. To start with I found them a little too 'clicky' off of the club face, I'm used to sound that the ProV's make on my 983K and the HX just made it sound like a bell !! Distance was about the same as the ProV but I found they moved a bit more off the face and as a result I missed a couple of fairways that I would otherwise have hit.Off the irons, nor real complaints. Dispite the rather clicky feel of the ball they seemed quite soft and spun nicely on shorter shots. I did find that they cut up quite a lot more than the Titleists with my wedges, and because the 'dimples' were quite flat they looked quite a mess after 18 holes. Putting with these balls was nasty. I just couldn't get the feel, although soft off the club face the 'tick' noise they make is off-putting and judging distance was difficult. All in all, a very good ball, just not ProV1 good. I guess you pays your money, takes your choice... I know where my £10.99 will be going though - Sorry Mr Callaway Customer Service No idea Similar Products Used: Titleist Pro V1, Wilson True Tour Elite |

This is easily the longest ball I have played. I started out trying the used ball and was pleasantly surprised that I got consistently 20yds more on the driver and irons! I now drive to areas of the courses I never reach before, and am using shorter irons to approach. Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: Pro-V1, U-Tri Tour |
