Really the nicest feeling ball on the market. I've used them all. The closest to it would be the CTU30, which I played prior to this one. The first few months with this ball the cover would shred easily, and here in the past month they've made the cover a little more durable. The balls should be at your local pro shop by now. If you are expecting the ball to react the same shot after shot you will need a premium ball. You don't see tour players playing with Dunlops or any ball of that caliber. If you play a softer ball, then the cover is probably going to be a little less durable. You get what you pay for. This ball is long, soft, and extremely receptive on the greens. It is definitely longer than pro v and softer. Not saying that it spins more than any other ball, but as far as I'm concerned it's just right. If you haven't tried this ball, do so. Customer Service I also have Hogan Apex Edge Pro irons, and have had to use them. It went just fine. Nothing to brag on, but it was ok. I'm in search of a new ball since the Titlest Tour Distance SF ball is getting hard to find. The SF gave me the right feel, distance and wear for a reasonable price. However, due to the SF's scarcity, I've undertaken a search for a new ball via a 'side-by-side' comparison of the Titlest Pro V1, Wilson True Tour, Callway HX Blue and the Ben Hogan Apex Tour. The Hogan ball is the first to be eliminated. The Hogan ball just feels to 'hard', doesn't get the altitude (ie, the lowest trajectory of the four) and produces the most inconsistant distance. Bottom line, I feel more comfortable and confident with any of the other three balls over the Hogan ball. I'm not sure which of the three remaining balls will come out on top -- it just won't be the Hogan ball. Ball is long off the tee and soft on the greens. I normally play the ProV1 and did not see much of a difference (longer or shorter). The big difference is that the Hogan ball has a very soft cover. If you hit it pure with any club from a 5 iron on down, the ball will be scuffed with groove marks. Just because of the durability problem with these balls, I am going back to the ProV1. BALL GO FAR!!! What a great ball! I love it! Extreme distance, wonderful feel, good spin into green. What more can you ask for??? I drove the ball 20 yards farther when i switched from the Strata tour professional to the Apex Tour halfway through my 2nd round at the West Virginia State High School Golf Championchip. My 3rd hole I played with the ball, i drove the green on a 320 yard par 4. Whether i'm standing over a drive, iron shot, or a chip, i feel more confident with this ball that any other ball i've tried Similar Products Used: Pro V1, Strata Tour Ultimate, Tour Ultimate 2, Maxfli Revolution, A10, buncha Nikes, HX red |

Good distance off woods. Consistent distance off scoring clubs. "Works well". Wonderful feel on and around the green. The added confidence this ball gives me standing over chips and pitches would lead me to play it even if it were not as long as any "performance" ball out there. The fact that it is as long or longer makes playing it a "no brainer" for me. Customer Service Not applicable Similar Products Used: Pro V-1, various Nike's, MaxFli's, and Callaways |

I can't beleive I paid $40 for a dozen balls that get outperformed by most everything else except the hardest distance rocks known to man. All this and a cover that is so dainty that one solid wedge sends it to the shag bag with a bruise. Old Ben must be spinning in his grave. Similar Products Used: Pro V1, Nike TA, Strata TU. |

Hogan Tour Apex
The Hogan Tour Apex to me represents the newest plateau of achievement regarding golf ball design, the last one of note initiated by the Titleist Pro V1 (and since then much imitated) some two years ago. The Apex prototype suggests that the four piece ball may indeed become the wave of the immediate future. The combination of distance, feel and spin is extraordinary. Off the tee it easily outdistances the Pro V1 by 10-15 yards with no sacrifice in green receptivity. I especially love the feeling of striking the Tour Apex, very smooth but not mushy. My only criticism of the Tour Apex is a mild one considering the number of virtues enumerated above, namely, that it has slightly less durability that the tough Pro V1 cover (which seems almost indestructible). The Tour Apex cover does shred slightly after a series of wedge or nine iron shots, but undoubtedly this minor problem will be addressed soon enough by the manufacturer. Yet overall, I believe that the Hogan Tour Apex is our current high water mark in golf ball design. I just finished playing my first round with this new apex tour ball and am most impressed with it's feel and performance. I can personally say it's at least 15 yards longer than other ball's I have tried and it's spins perfection on full shots and chips shots around the green. Responds a lot like a true balata ball but with more distance. |

I never liked the ProV, and always have loved Maxfli Revolutions. They were long, spun and felt great around the greens. The Apex Tour is longer, Spins perfectly, and feels better then great around the green. I also think these are the best ball made to date. I have no negative or even slightly negative comments about the Apex Tour. I also hit the Apex Edge Pro irons and these balls just complete the package. Enough said.....Ed Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Maxfli Revolution, A10, Titliest Tour Balata,ProV 1 |

I found these balls no better that Pro V1's, and significantly less durable. Customer Service No reason to use Similar Products Used: Titleist Pro V1 |
