Having read all the reviews so far I can understand why there are a few people it does not work for. But I would imagine that it is a very small percentage of those who have purchased the product. But as Dalton says (money back if you are not happy, and who can deny that this is as fair as you are going to get from anyone). What is out of order though, is the people who have reviewed and stated that Dalton is telling us to 'cast'. Dalton specifically takes the time to explain the difference between 'casting' and dropping the clubhead on the correct plane. However, I found many of the techniques work for me. I still have slight alterations to what he advocates but in the main I stick by his instruction. The videos certainly are not of the highest quality but does that really matter when the important thing is to learn from the techniques being taught. He also brings a bit of humour into the world of instructional vidoes. That, as well as his unique way of getting the message across, is in my opinion, a recipe for success. I would thouroughly recommend this product, but there is a lot to take in and so therefor you must be willing to put a fair bit of time aside to work on what is being taught.

Superb I shoot straight, high & long. well longish 150 yrds with my 6 iron but hey thats long enougth, keeps be on the good stuff.I sometimes struggle with the woods but generally not so bad that it gets me into trouble.can't really understand what the bad reviews are about, you must be doing it wrong.do the drills it really does work.how badly do you want it ?. Oh by the way been playing for about a year & started off in the 120's,been using the swing for about 4 months and shaved 30 strokes off on a good day,now thats not bad. Thinking of trying out the short game & putting tapes to try and shave off more strokes.thanks dalton youve been a god send. p.s don't let the bad reviews get you down.you,me & thousands of others no the real truth.

It makes me sick the number of bad reviews Dalton's system gets. There was one that said he needed to change his swing which was 'pointless'??!!! Surely if you want to improve you have to be willing to accept change, anyone who dissagrees with that is just plain ignorant. O.K so the video's were of a poor quality but its the content that counts! This system has improved my game and several of my friends games dramatically. Finally, I would just like to say a BIG thank you to Dalton for helping me out.

Customer Service

This was dissapointing as I live in the UK the customer service helpline in the book and on the video's does'nt seem to work.

The infomercials said that Dalton would teach you "the secret" to hitting the golf ball straight. I stupidly thought that there was one thing that everyone was doing wrong (including me). However, I got the videos only to discover that I actually need to completely change my swing. Although there are some people that can probably do this I feel that for most average golfers (my handicap is 12) this would be a fruitless exercise. Granted if I changed my swing and put in all the practice I need to master this new swing I'd probably knock a few shots of that handicap, but I would probably lose as many just by practicing the same amount of time with my current swing. This video, in my opinion, would only be useful for someone who genuinely is poor at golf or who has not played that long so that they could quite easily change the swing to Dalton's

Customer Service

Very Good. I ordered the videos on a saturday afternoon and I received them on the Monday 9 days later

I would rate myself as always being a good player. My handicap has ranged from 4-8 for the past 15 years. The problem I always had in the past is that I could shoot a 72 or an 85. I've always been a long hitter with a draw (OK a hook) that could come up at any time. If my timing was dead on, on any given day, I could shoot a great round. If it wasn't, I couldn't keep the ball in play to save my ass. It always seemed that I would decide to lose my timing while I was on a golf trip. I would play at great courses and never be able to score. I got so frustrated that I bought the Straight Shootin' video about three years ago. It was a big change from how I played in the past. It was fairly easy to pick up, but initially just felt a whole lot different. After playing with the system for the past few years, I have virtually eliminated my hook. I can now consistently hit it STRAIGHT!! For me this system has been great. I used to line down the right tree line and hope that I didn't hook it past the left rough. Now I line up much more down the middle and don't worry about the trouble to the left, because I rarely hit it there. And I lose about half the amount of balls that I used to. My conscious effort is simple: To swing much slower, and pop my wrists much sooner than in the past. I hit a lot more fairways than in the past and hit the ball just as far. It is amazing to hear all the so called "Teaching Pros" now. If you ever listen to these guys on TV, there is no way anyone can understand what they are talking about. I have watched the teaching pros give lessons at many golf courses. I can guarantee the students don't understand half of what they are saying, when they are giving a lesson. It is comical. I am glad I purchased the video a few years back, because I have more fun now playing golf.

I first watched Dalton McCrary's tapes about 4 years ago. I was shooting in the 100's at that time. Initially, I'm not sure that I saw great progress. Has years went by and I read magazines, books, etc. on various golf technique, I did not that I was getting better. Finally, I reached a plateau, and couldn't improve anymore. Too many swing thoughts were piling up in my head. I popped out Dalton McCrary's Straight Shootin golf tapes one more time. They made a lot more sense the second time around. At the range that day I could do no wrong. I hit every shot right down the gut. Will it last? Tomorrow we shall find out

I was off 17, and now I am playing to around 10. The man is a genius, he has made it simple to follow and also very enjoyable. I just wish I could meet him to say thanks. I find it difficult to understand any negative comments. I don't even remember what a slice looks like!

Tapes are badly produced, full of useless chit chat. There are some usefull drills. It is far too expensive and I don't see a reason for FOUR tapes, unless to rip one off. Take-away and follow-through are good, early release is controversial and I doubt it can be CONSISTENT. The best thing though, and no one needs the tapes for that, is to train and teach one's body into automatic mode, there is no secret... Get back to basics, Leadbetter, Faldo, Pelz.

I dont understand the negative comments. Sounds more like contempt prior to investigation. I remember a hitting instructor for the K.C. Royals major league baseball team named Charlie Lau. As a player, Charlie never made it to the big show. Spent his playing years in the minors. George Brett and Wade Boggs were pupils of the late Mr. Lau, and we all know what kind of players they were. (hall of fame)Like Dalton, Charlie had critics and many followers. Count me as a Dalton follower. Thanks Dalton

I can't believe the people who have written reviews bad mouthing the tapes without actually trying the methods for themselves. Firstly the people who have actually lost distance on there shots are casting and not releasing the club head properly as instructed in the video. Secondly the people who are bad mouthing the techniques and play in the eighties and nineties are hardly qualified to comment on the complexities of the golf swing. I would recommend these tapes to anyone but only if you are really serious about improving your game and prepared to put in some effort. The tapes need to be watched over and over again until they are completely understood. How many people who have struggled with this tape have actually spent a few hours practising the one position? I suspect most of them have just pulled the club back and then tryed to roll the wrist with disastrous consequences. I currently hold a handicap of six and have been playing golf for many years and over this period have come to realise that there is not "ONE" magic move that will turn you into a pga pro. To me the biggest thing on the course is changing your mindset and reprogramming your personal swing computer to carry out daltons swing. You cannot programme your body to do anything if you dont understand what your telling it to do in the first place. Get the course study it and get a good understanding of what is being said before even trying to reprogramme your swing!!!!! I'm sure that anyone who adopts this philosophy will enjoy the benefits of becoming a straight shooting golfer.
