if you do all the drills, and most importantly remember for right handed golfers that golf is a left handed game, this video will take at least 10 strokes of your score. you will hit the ball farther and straighter than before.

These tapes have helped my game tremedously. To be honest, when I first bought the tapes I didn''t do the drills as often as I could. I wanted the quick fix. But recently I have been doing the drills and shooting in the low 80''s and high 70''s on a championship level golf course. These tapes do help, and for the record, he does NOT teach you to cast. He teaches you not to delay your golf swing, and guess what... Jack Nicklaus didn''t delay his golf swing either.

a lot of people have bad mouthed dalton and his theory on this site, i recently bought the tapes and i think they make a lot of sense. a square club at impacy produces straight shots. who the hell can argue with that? an early release of the club promotes a square club face for a longer period of time. who can argue with that? dalton''s method basically teached you how to keep the club head square longer and it works! in my opinion the bad reviews are coming from people who have very little or no coordination. if you can execute dalton''s theory you''ll hit straighter shots, and even if you''re not perfect you''ll still decrease your margin of error significantly and keep your ball in play. i played a round 4 days after veiwing the tapes and shot a 76, which is 9-12 strokes better than normal for me. with dalton''s method there''s only 3 things you need to focus on and once you practice and get them down you will definitely hit straighter shots. i also like the fact that with dalton''s method you understand exactly what causes bad shots, you can immediately analyze your swing and correct it rather easily- you don''t have to go to the range and tinker with your swing or experiment. the way dalton explains it there''s only a few things you need to do to hit straighter shots, just follow what he says, practice and you''ll hit straighter shots. one point i found very interesting is that people who take lessons from pro''s RARELY improve their game, and if they do improve it''s only ONE aspect of their game. in the lessons i''ve taken, no pro has EVER taught me how to keep the club head square through impact and they have all promoted the "late release" which i now know is completely ridiculous. after thinking about it, i realized it''s impossible for the average golfer to keep the club square long enough with a delayed release. tour pros can, the average golfer can''t, and that''s why hackers never improve. keep up the good work dalton! you''ve made a believer out of me! * the quality of the tapes could have been better, but the quality of instruction is what''s important.

Saw the infomercial a whole bunch of times need help, but the local pro''s were all outrageous for thier fees so bought these tapes from e-bay. Definitely not the best production out there, but hey you can use a handi-cam as long as it works. This product did have me hitting the ball straighter, but I LOST atleast twenty yards per short iron, and atleast 30 on my long irons. I wasn''t the longest hitter in my foursome to begin with and after this that is even more true. I used to hit my 7-iron 155-160, and not if it goes 130 I am amazed. For me personally this swing has caused more damage than it has done good. The other problem this swing caused was for me to hit severly fat shots which I never did before, and since switching to jim macleans 8-step swing I have been able to correct that flaw. I know not every teaching method works for everyone. In my case it was not a solution, it just caused more problems.

I would like to say first that I have never seen these videos, but I have read what some people on here have posted on the golf swing. I don''t use Dalton''s swing technique, but it sounds similar to what I use. I work with a pro from Florida named Martin Green. For those of you who think release early or "releasing from the top" is casting, you are ignorant on the topic of the golf swing. I used to think this until I understood what the release was. There is a difference between a scoop and a release. A scoop would be casting, but if you truly "release early" you will cause a late release. If you try to throw out the angle, you will actually create more of an angle because the weight of the clubhead will cause lag on the shaft, and more importantly, on your wrists. If you release early and in the correct direction, you will hit the ball straight every time. Release, throw, hit, and push all mean the same thing. If you do any of these correctly, you will hit good shots. You can''t pull something that you are trying to move away from you. You can''t say "pull your hands out away from your chest" you can only "push your hands away from your chest". Same as the golf swing. The ball is out away from you as well as the flag, so the only way to hit the ball correctly is to "push the clubhead into the ball". Some people feel this as a push, some as a release, some as a throw, but they all do the same thing. You simply can''t pull in a golf swing and produce consistant results. Don''t ever knock any golf instruction until you fully understand what you are knocking.

I have played less than ten rounds a year for the last five years (my golf career). After much frustration i was able to mold a consistent golf shot, not long but straight and consistent. on july 2nd of last year my golf world was turned upside down. i bought a new set of clubs for my anniversary (thanks honey), and the pro at the shop where i bought them was nice enough to "correct" my swing, much to my dismay i became a slicing, shanking swearing miserable golfer. i wasn''t good to begin with, but if i played inteligently and laid up when i needed to i could break 100 consistently. Now i''m in the high teens and hating the game, i couldn''t find my old swing and was feeling desparate. i live ten minutes from a palmer course and i can play there for free whenever i wan''t (good connection). needless to say my game has suffered so much that i have only played three times this year. my brother in law gave me daltons video''s (he plays well and consistent and does not want to corrupt his swing)so that i could try them. i did a couple of the drills in my basement, then i went to the range...night and day!!! not every shot perfect, maybe 50% of them, but then again thats 45% better than i have been for a year and a half. i don''t care if i hit the ball farther (i am) all i care is that i can go out and play in the fairway and not totally humiliate myself. thank you dalton. for those of you hitting in the 70''s and 80''s and whining about this coarse, maybe you need to change your expectations, changing your whole swing won''t help you, you''re very good already. Perhaps coarse management and short game work would be more suited to your skill level. this coarse builds a foundation, you have one already...80''s to 70''s isn''t in your approach off the tee, it''s in your mind. it takes 18 great, consistent, and smart holes to do this, not some miracle swing.

This method works for me. I''ve gone from 100''s to consistantly shooting in the low 80''s. I have found that you need to work the program and faithfully do the drills to progress. Golf is so much more enjoyable when you play well. Thanks Dalton

Shoot in the 80s

I just read all the reviews and they seem to be all over the board. I thought it was interesting that one guy who shoots in the 100's went into detail on what is wrong with the tape. You sure can tell by his score that he sure is an expert. Personally, I would recommend this tape to anyone. From a high to a low handicapper. Dalton basically teaches the swing plane in layman's terms and if you practice and work at what he says you will improve your game. I think most people who say this tape is crap are looking for a quick fix and do not want to put the effort into what he teaches.

I don't believe that there is one teaching method that can be consistent for everyone. I also don't think that you have to take EVERYTHING an instructor says verbatim. There are some good suggestions on these tapes, but there are also things that may not work for you. I tried Dalton's method and the early release just didn't cut it for my swing style. It caused hooks and shanks from "releasing" at the top and having the clubface get ahead of my hands at impact. If you watch any pro, the the shaft is leaning slightly toward the target at impact, with the lead wrist flat. That position is nearly impossible to achieve releasing the club early at the top. I think a beginner would most benefit from these tapes, but to become a solid, consistent player a good instructor is a must. Save your money and have YOUR swing video taped and analyzed. You'll learn more and improve quicker.

I called one time to ask what I should do about the hook/shank I had developed. Their answer was to NOT RELEASE to quickly. Go figure.
