I hadn't been keeping up on wedges in recent years so I had nothing to compare it too except the Big Bertha Irons that I had (before going back to forged) and with that set I had 3 wedges including an L-wedge. That club was very inconsistent and was costing me strokes on every round but being stubborn, I was bound to learn to hit that club until one day I realized I needed a better solution. Then I decided to purchase some of the 588's, a 53 degree and a 57 degree. I really wasn't sure what lofts I needed but decided to go with the 2 and see what happened. Well, I typically use the 57 more often because of the distance from the pin that I often find myself. I have been trying the Pelz rule of wedges and hitting them typically at the 9 oclock range. Since I purchased the clubs, I have pitched in for eagle and for birdie, both from about 50 yards. These clubs have already paid for themselves. They have been very successful for me...

I love this wedge. Abosoulutly frames the ball great. Look great in the bag with my chrome TA3's. Soft and they got some mad spin. Spun a 50 yard 3/4 swing about 8 feet to set up a 2 foot birdie putt. I guess the chunk on 1 was my fault. OOP's.

Took some getting used to. Is heavy headed and had to learn to let the club do the work. Good spin characteristics although full wedge distance is 5-7 shorter than my Hogan. A little harder to address due to rounded toe but thats more a personal thing.

Absolutely awesome wedge first time out with it stopped it on a dime and backed it up a couple of times. Everytime I hit it withing 5ft incredible feel. Next time out shot a 75 and only hit 6 G.I.R.'s but made all my up and downs. Just an overall perfect wedge. If your short game is struggling give it a try.

The 588 is the best wedge I've ever played, of course I haven't used many, I've been using 588's for the past 7 or 8 years.

Distance control is excellent, you get exactly what you put in every time. Feel and spin are both very good. Great from the sand, fairway, or rough. Does everything well, except for hardpan.

I consider myself to be pretty good 100 yards and out, but the min. I have to use a wedge, I totally screw up. The Cleveland changed that the first time I bought it. It's pretty rusted now, and I'm worried about how long it will last, but it stops on a dime. It get three-four feet of backspin when hit correctly. This club has totally changed my short game. Worth every penny (although I'm not sure how long it will last due to the amount of rust).

this club is really what i needed. It has predictable spin and distance. Is a wonder around the greens, but the best part of this club is it's feel. This club allows you to feel a bad and good shot and make adjustments in your swing. This is a great club for learning the game. After i groove a consistent swing i will probably look into the 900 series but these clubs are the best i have tried.

This club is fantastic. Being new to golf, I had a hard time justifying the cost, but let me tell you, once I hit it I knew I had to have it. The rusty tarnish that is developing is also very nice. I get nice spin on my shots. Im sure this is one club that I will not remove from my bag.

This wedge is fantastic. For open face shots they pitch by the hole and just stop. Full hits shots lack great length but a 60* wedge is not for distance anyway. The clubs spins like nothing else, and i thought my forged mizunos spun, but they are nothing. The only downside is if you use a soft cover ball especially you may as well throw them in the bin. You can see the cover of the ball on the club face even after 10-20 yard lobs. The pro v1 is the only ball that resists it.
