Having played with a set of Spalding irons for a few years I decided to give the XL2000 irons a try due to rave reviews on the net. I am really struggling with these irons. My ball is now fading whereas I used to have a draw shot (???!!!). I am shooting higher scores than I ever did with my Spalding clubs. Will try to persist for another 4-5 months but will probably buy a new set of clubs - probably the Wilson Deep Red's as these are GREAT clubs in my humble opinion! |

Just got back into the game and I was looking for a good set that wouldn't cost me too much. After some research, I narrowed it down to the Callaway X-14s and the Top Flite XL 2000s. I chose the latter because of the good reviews here, and the fact that it was pretty cheap. Well, after five rounds of golf, I have to say I made the absolute right choice. The Top Flite XL 2000s are simply a joy to hit. On the short and middle irons, the ball just rockets out and has a nice, high trajectory. My playing partners were pretty impressed. Even the long irons have a nice ball flight. Get this set if you're looking for the most out of your money. These clubs are super easy to hit, don't cost much and are great confidence builders for the beginner to average golfer. Customer Service Haven't had to deal with them yet. Topflight 2000 irons (graphite)
I was in the market for a set of irons because I wasn't really ENJOYING the feel of my old irons the way I was loving my wedges (Cleveland), driver (Cobra 427) & fairway woods (Cobra SS strong 3, Cleveland Launcher 22 degree 7W. Read the surprisingly wonderful reviews of this club, and decided to pick up a set on eBay. I was expecting an immediate game improvement club--didn't happen. I was expecting more distance--especially since I ordered graphite, whose lighter weight I thought would translate into increased swing speed, and thus distance. This didn't happen either. It took me a good month or so to really groove my swing with these clubs and get the distance(s) down. But having put in the work, I can agree with most of what people are saying about these clubs. Very soft, buttery feel. Very accurate: high, straight, repeatable. And the long irons (3, 4) once you get the feel, are easier to hit than other long irons I've tried. Clubs set up well, slightly oversized, and inspire confidence. And of course, you can't beat the price--which really must be one of the best values in golf. But best of all, they're just fun to hit. I have played these clubs 5 rounds and really have liked them. At the same time these clubs arrived I received another set of clubs as a gift and am going to go with those clubs. Do you want to buy these? I will sell them for $150 and throw in the matching 2 iron, plus gap, sand, and lob wedges for the same price. Contact me at email address y3kcass@775.net. They are rated highly for a reason. |

I have been playing a set of Ping Eye2s for several years now that were given to me. After relentlessly searching for a new set, I finally decided on purchasing the Top Flites. For more control, I ordered the shafts with stiff flex. These clubs hit the ball straight! I tried several different brands and these were simply the most forgiving. I find that I hit them a little shorter than my old set, but if it goes straight, that is not a big concern. I also enjoy hitting the 3 and 4 irons. In the past, I would choose to hit a fairway wood. Now I have confidence in hitting the long irons. Before you go out and buy a set, remember, these clubs will not correct a bad swing. They will only help you out if your clubhead is somewhat rotated when it hits the ball. Some of my friends still make fun of me for using Top Flites, but last two times we played, I won. I also think the clubs, with the diamond cambered soles are extremley good looking. Enjoy! Customer Service Haven't needed it yet. Similar Products Used: Ping Eye2, Callaway Big Bertha |

Read all the reviews (even at golfclubreview.com), figured why not. Got a great deal from Wayland Golf on ebay, a graphite set in great shape. We can't all be kdstan (we're not all duffers here), but the clubs perform very well indeed. Long, high straight shots are the norm. Predictable results. Forgiving. Solid and smooth feel. They won't fix swing flaws, but they will make your game more enjoyable. Aesthetically not the most appealling club to look at, but looking at a club in a bag never hit a ball. The club sets up very well; doesn't look huge at address and shows a reasonably thin top line. Does inspire confidence; beginning to see positive results in scoring average as well, now that I've adjusted to differences in club selection. I've played with PING I3's and Armour 845s and 845s Oversize, all great, solid performing clubs, and the xl 2000's outperform them in feel, distance and predictability to the point that I've sold the other sets. You don't need to spend a small fortune on 'high end' names to play well. The xl 2000's are an excellent value for anyone looking improve AND enjoy their game. Spend your money on lessons. These will be in my bag for some time to come. Now with all that being written, there's an old saying in golf: 'It's not the arrow,it's the Indian.' I read just about all of the reviews of the XL 2000 clubs on this website. I bought a cheap set on ebay. I was hitting some Taylor Made Supersteels before I purchased the XLs. I have been using them for about 2 months and I do not see what the big deal is with these clubs. The readers are saying that they hit the ball straight most of the time. I am tending to fade the ball most of the time with these irons. I am a high 70s and low 80s golfer. After reading the reviews, I thought these clubs could get me where I wanted my golf game to be, but they are not better than the Supersteels. The big oversized head is forgiving, but not all of the time like everyone here will have you believe. Of course, most of these reviews are from duffers who cannot play anyway. So do not believe everything you read. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made Supersteels |

XL 2000 steel shaft stiff
I started playing golf two years ago with an old set of MacGregor blades. I hacked around at various public courses and eventually decided to ignore my astronomically high scores and uncanny knack for finding water hazards and take up golf anyway. After spending some time at the range, I decided new equipment was in order. My old blades were rusty and the grips were crumbling in my hands. Being a thrifty (cheap) person and a new (bad) golfer, I didn't want to spend much. This Website came up on a Yahoo! search and I did some reading. Most pros I talked to were pushing Adams Tight Lies, but the price was out of my range. The XLs were all over eBay at very reasonable prices and the reviews just kept getting better and better. So after much ado I decided to buy a set. Now, I'm not going to say I went out and hit like Ben Hogan, or even Hulk Hogan, but with XLs my efforts lead to improvement whereas I felt like I was wasting my time with the blades. This is my second year of serious golf with the XLs and I recently broke 110. I can honestly say my iron play isn't what's keeping me over 100. No matter which club I grab, I'm confident I'll make a good stroke with the XLs. Now my woods... that's a different story. One word of advice: don't bother with the SW. Spend the money on a Cleveland 900. The price is about the same (new XL SW compared to a used 900) and Cleveland makes an amazing wedge. Customer Service Never dealt with them. I have never read as positive reviews as for this club. I refuse lessons, hate the driving range and have not enough time to enjoy the game (kids, family...). However I got to play and want to hit the ball solid. Well I found a set (used 3 times) with regular graphite shafts for $150 and could not say no.... First round was fine, no added distance (minmal at best), but straight and true. Second round the with a 30 mph wind and some rain. Hit my drives straight and with me in the fairway I missed few shots. Best was the 165 yard 3-iron into the wind, that did not waiver an inch. Still need to figure distances, but I am sure these club match any that cost 3X as much. Or maybe just my game has finally turned the corner......
