Top-Flite XL2000 Graphite (Year 2000 model)
The best irons I have hit. They inspire a very smooth swing even on your bad days. I have tried out much more expensive premium sets, but there is nothing like the XL2000. (The Cleveland TA-7 is other excellent performer that I like). These are the best game-improvement irons that money can buy. You can notice immediate results. The shots are super accurate and long. Workability is good. It performs well at the range and on the course. Excellent out of turf, due to the unique diamond-sole - I guess. Should be a 10 out of 5. I am really said to heard that they have been discontinued as I want another set with steel shafts. (I now believe the good things said by the other reviewers are true, not made up by someone working for club manufacturers or something like that.) Top Flight XL2000 Irons
I've been playing golf intermittently since 1996, and the best I've ever scored is in the 90s. Mostly I've played Calloway irons, some knock-offs of various brands, and the occasional round with a set of Titleist irons. Since I started traveling virtually every week, my game went south until the Crowne Plaza sent me a set of Top Flight XL2000 irons, 3-PW including a really nice leather bag, a case of balls, and a set of shoes as a thank you for staying there! These are the best clubs I've hit for my level of skill -- on the first day I struggled with the different lie and loft combo, but after that I've consistently hit them better than anything I've tried. I can work the ball if I need to, although hitting a fade is tough, and get great distance. Not only that, but they actually swing easier and more consistently than my old set. I'm a big believer, and although I've still got a lot of work to do on the range, I've cut 10 strokes off my game since switching to my new Top Flight irons. I just wish they were a stiff steel shaft and built up grip so they were a bit more comfortable, but I expect my local pro shop will help out with that! I got this set for free, but would cheerfully pay $299 list for them... Customer Service Not required as of yet Similar Products Used: Titleist DCI, Various knock-offs, Ping I3, Calloways |

All I can say these are the best irons I have every hit. I have been shooting in the 90s with my Titleist DCI 981. I traded my Titleist irons in on the Top Flite irons. I got a great deal. These irons are great. The first round I shot 87. Next round I only played 9 holes.I hit 6 out 9 greens in regulation, shot a 41. I am now shooting in the 80s everytime I play 18. Have shot an all time low in 9 holes a 39. All I can say these are the best irons out there at any price. Similar Products Used: Titleist, Ping, Hogan Apex,Dunlop, Wilson |

I started playing in 1995 and played Wilson Staff 45 Ultras, Top Flite Tours, TF Tour OSs, then Tommy Armour 855s. I've also hit alot of Ping and Calloway irons over the years. After a three-year layoff I started farting around with an old set off Wilson blades two weeks ago, and getting the 'bug' again I started looking for another set of 855s. I saw these used locally for $150 and after reading all the reviews I thought I'd try them out. So far I can say these are the BEST CLUBS I HAVE EVER SWUNG! Even with a bad back and not having played in three years I can go out and shoot in the 90s right now after only a week (can't putt). These are the longest, straightest, most forgiving irons I have ever played. I haven't had a fitter go thru the lofts and lies yet but already they feel very consistent. I was never a shotmaker but I am also easily drawing the ball for the first time. My only issue with them is that they appear VERY strong-lofted, and the PW is a little too hot. I'm looking for a matching gap wedge now to even them out a little. They are truly awesome sticks. If I can get my putting back on track I think I'll be back into the 80s pretty quickly. If you can find a used set for around $200 bucks, no matter what you're playing now, buy them ... and I believe you'll be impressed. I have friends who are scratch players and they can easily shape shots with these, even though they allow a banana-baller like me to go straight every time. Customer Service Not used ... XL2000
I realize there are many reviews signing the praises of the XL 2000s but after my experience with these irons I felt compelled to write. I purchased these on sale at Sports Authority for $299 in a regular flex steel shaft. First choice would have been stiff shaft graphite but couldn’t complain after not being able to find these clubs anywhere. Played roughly 20 rounds with the irons in this form and was overly impressed. To be honest, not much of a score improvement but boy was the feeling nice when I didn’t have to worry about the stray shot 4 or 5 times per round. Then it happened. I got inspired and replaced the shafts with Grafalloy Pro Logic graphite shafts and Winn grips and WOW! Last month carded a 5 on my USGA (about a 6 stroke improvement) and have been loving the game more and more each round. I am still not so fond of the PW and have gone back to my Cleveland 855 but, I gotta say thank you Top Flite. I haven’t had a game improvement in more than a year and now I’m improving and having fun! Customer Service Haven't needed Similar Products Used: Ping i3 O-size, Callaway X-14 and X-12, Cobra CTX |

I consistently shoot in the 86-92 range, with the occasional 82-84. My first round with these clubs I shot 84. I lost about 10 yards because I was swinging so easy. Now that I have been to the range a few times I have regained the distance, as well as hitting my shots straight. I have read many reviews on these clubs and they are all good in nature, except for the ocassional dislike of the "look" of the club. I, however, like the look of the club. I would strongly recommend these clubs to any level player. I fully expect to be shooting low 80's consistently with these clubs. I fully expect to be shooti Similar Products Used: Just about all brands |

I looked and read reviews about these irons for 6 months before ordering a "test" 5-iron off Ebay. Out of 10 swings I hit 9 longer than my 3-iron and higher than my 7-iron. I bought a complete new set that night. It's been a struggle getting used to them being a little shorter, but it's coming around. My distance is a little longer so far, but I can see it growing each week. The biggest difference is the trajectory, coming from a knock off set of oversized Titlest DCIs. I can take a 7-iron from 170 yards out and actually make it stop on the green. These clubs have made me a constant 99-105+ player to a 90-95 player in the last 6 weeks and I gain confidence and find myself only scoring mid 90s mainly because of bad drives and putts. Heck, if I'm having trouble with my driver I'll take the 3-iron off the tee for 225 yards as a replacement. Customer Service Haven't needed as of yet... Top Flite XL-2000
This is the club that took me from a mid 90's player to a low 80's player. I rented them at a course in Canada and was shocked at the results during my round. Extremely forgiving! Nice oversized weight and feel. Graphite shafts are the only way to go for the average player. Softer feel. After playing with these clubs for over a year....my confidence grew....my scores lowered...I actually enjoy the game now. I've really worn these clubs out having fun! Then it happened...I got cocky and started believing I was so good that I could hit any club. Off I went to my local golf shop. I bought the new Hogan Apex Pro's with steel shafts....my score after playing with them (11 rounds to date) is higher.....on average 8 strokes higher! There great clubs, but just not as FORGIVING as my old XL-2000's. So I've made a decision....I'm going to buy a new set of XL-2000's (yes, with the "less cosistent" graphite shafts)....and go back to having fun !!!!! Golf clubs are all about creating confidence when you swing them...the look ...the feel....the results. If you're an average player like I am...these clubs WILL make you a better player. Good luck.
