Titleist DCI 762 Irons

Titleist DCI 762 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The new DCI 762 is the flagship of the player-proven DCI iron franchise. DCI 762 irons are high-performance blades with contemporary design technology. Their thin face design and a multi-piece carbon and metallized mylar cavity insert provide unparalleled feel, increased playability, and modern flight characteristics. The multi-layer, multi-material cavity insert provides "muscle-like" feel without any wasted cavity mass. The cavity insert features a woven graphite sheet in the lower part of the cavity to soften the impact area and provide enhanced feel.

These are great clubs! Recently switching from Armour 845 irons, the 762 have offered me amazingly straight shots from the fairway and tee and have awsome workablility. I would suggest stiff shaft for everyone. Im a 15 year old golfer with a 10 handicap and the stiff shafts make your shots much more consistant and straight.

I returned to playing golf regularly two to three years ago after a reasonably long absence and bought a set of Callaway Hawkeye irons with graphite shafts to celebrate (and hopefully improve my game). What a mistake that was! No feel, big, clunky, almost agricultural. Anyway, tried the 762's along with Hogan apex. I felt pretty much at home with the Titleists from the word go. I bought them on the spot and have been using them for around three months now. What a difference they have made to my game. They look and feel great at address and instill and inspire a confidence I have not felt for a long time. True they are a lot less forgiving than any Callaways I have hit but I don't mind that. These irons do give you plenty of feedback about what went on through the contact zone and that for me is the real avenue to game improvement. I cannot see how clubs which almost totally isolate you from the actual contact with the ball can improve your game. I am using these clubs with S300 shafts which has been something of a revelation after the far too flexi graphite shafts. I would also endorse comments by others concerning reliability of distance - obviously you will only benefit from this if your ball striking is reasonably consistent - I am finding club selection far less of a lottery than before. I guess the most important thing I can say about these irons is that they make me want to both play AND practice the game of golf, and there can be few better endorsements to a product than that ! One word of caution in all this. You do need a golf swing to use these clubs. If your ball striking is dodgy and very inconsistent then get some lessons first before trying these or stick to the so-called 'game improvement' clubs.

These clubs are truly awsome they give a great feel and are'nt to hard to hit. With these clubs I hit it at leest 1 club further than with my old mizumo sure clubs. I have got R300 shafts on my clubs and the flight i get on them is spectacular. I recomend these clubs for people who shoot, from the 70's to the low 80's overall I think they are a great set of clubs. You could get them custom fit but it does not really matter they are great on there own.

Great set of irons if you prefer a players club. I am about a 6 handicap and shoot around 80 on a normal day, 70's when things are clicking. I decided I wanted a new set of irons and first bought the Callaway X-14's. I scored well with them and loved the long irons, but did not like the blocky feel on the shorter irons. NExt bought some Cleveland TA-5's and basically had about the same feeling as the X-14's... nice irons but the offset and game improvement design did not suit my taste. Hit a demo 762 and decided to go that route. The top-line is thin and the club has very little offset. The clubs set up much like a blade, but have a reasonable amount of forgiveness. I have played one round with them in cold, rainy weather and never mis-hit a ball badly enough to sting the fingers. The longer irons are not too hard to hit, but tougher than the X-14's. It is really just a matter or taste. If you prefer a more traditional iron that is still a cavity back, this is a solid choice.

I used to play Callaway X14s and I like the feel very much, but they have too much offset. I switched to Titleist 762 two months ago. The clubs look fantastic, especially the offset is not much visable. The clubs are very playable. I can really work the ball at will but they are not as forgiving as X14s and at least 1/2 club shorter. The feel is similar but not as good as forged blades, but the feel is too mute. If you can spend more, go get the 690CB.

By far the most accurate and most controllable iron available today to anyone who wants a reasonble comprimse between control and forgiveness. If you sometimes shoot in the 90's forget this club. However if you have a pretty solid swing and you want to drop your scores then this is the club to buy. I gained about 1 1/2 clubs vs. my old DCI 990s with no loss in accuracy. This club allows you to hit high, low, fades and draws easily. It is also has incredibly consistent distance control.

Tried out on the driving range today. Very disapointing, they were sharp and rather bony to strke. The sweet spot isn't very generous either. All in all if you need a cavity back club, there's better. If you can manage with a smaller striking area then a forged blade Mp33 or new Titleist MB may give better performance.

Overall, a very good club. With these clubs, I actually gained 10 more yds per shot compared to my other clubs. That is probably attributed to the stronger lofts of the club. More forgiving than my DCI 962B set but not as forgiving as some other clubs on the market today. On the upside of that though, it is easier to work on the ball so if you are looking for a club that is easy to hit with consistency, forgiving enough, and if you love to shape your shots, look no further than this clubs. Since I switched clubs I am hitting more greens now with consistency thus translated to better scores. Then again, playing more and practicing more helped, too. Good club for player at any level.

Great clubs for those with consistent quality swing. Not nearly as forgiving as my TA7s. May just be I'm not ready for these irons. Had them fitted and shot my lowest round ever with them, but they are not forgiving. Recommend Sensicore shafts, they are harsh without. Beautiful clubs, not for everyone.
