This is my first really good set of irons and they're a pleasure to hit and look at. I got the Rifle constant-weight shafts partly because my previous clubs (Ram FX Oversize with graphite shafts) were inconsistent (partly my fault, I'm sure). A great move. These are perimeter-weighted—but not oversize—and
satisfyingly consistent and true. Maybe
I'm not as long as I used to be (occasionally!); but I'm much more accurate both directionally and distance-wise. Nice feel on contact. And I find them aesthetically pleasing. Which
only adds to the confidence they inspire.
Find a set and try them. You won't be disappointed.

These irons are great! I used to play with a set of cutom made clubs for 3 years, then I tried the super steels, I hit the ball 10 to 15 yards farther with every club and dropped my handicap by 8 strokes. Highly recommended.

The rifle shaft in this clubs gives it feel and accuracy. A quality product for those looking to upgrade from a beginners set of irons. Easy to square the clubhead! Another quality product from Taylor Made.

These are decent irons, but are limited in playablity and distance. There is a lot of wieght low on the club creating a high shot, with weak distance. The feel is just ok, but they are very forgiving with a large sweet spot. These are good clubs for your average weekend golfer, but once you become serious about the game its smart to get something with a little more distance and playablity.

These are great clubs that hit the ball very solid everywhere on the club. The grips are the best. It is hard to tell with the feel of the club if you hit a bad shot untill you see the ball.

I tried them all and I found that for the price, name and playability they were a great choice.

I hit all the high end clubs, Titleist, Ping IO3, Calaway X-14, Tommy Armour evo, Cleveland TA-5, the supersteels were by far the best, every shot went high and straight, even when hit off center, when you hit the sweet spot you know it, great price also but price was not the reason for buying these irons, it was feel.

I tried the X-14s, Ping i3Os and the latest Tour Edge irons, and I ended up buying the Taylor Made Supersteels. I was all set to buy the X-14s but when I hit the Supersteels (R-80), I hit the ball much further than the others...large sweet spot! Excellent choice in clubs, and also more than half the cost of the Callaways!

A few months ago I submitted a review on the Cobra Gravity Backs. I dis-liked them a great deal. Since I've upgraded to the TM Supersteels.

An immediate improvement. The most important aspect is the consistency. I produce both consistant distance and direction control with the Supersteels. This is something I could not do with the gravity-backs, despite what felt like identical swings.

These clubs are very forgiving, and remind me much of the X-14's which I've hit on occasion.

The feel on impact is relatively dull compared to other clubs I've hit, but provides enough feedback to know when you've hit the (large) sweet spot. With the back pains i occasionally get, I actually favour the duller feel at impact. I find it even encourages a smoother swing through the ball.

The weakest part of the Supersteel set are the wedges. I had a better short game using the gravity backs. Not sure why, the angling of the sole on the TM's are a nice touch. Perhaps its simply a lack of weight in the club-head. I might replace the SW and PW with relevant 588 models.

Overall I think these clubs are great. Will suit anyone from a hacker, to single digit handicaper. If you compare the price of the Supersteels to the X-14's, its a bargin. And I really do think the X-14 and Supersteels are directly comparable.

went to buy the x-14's, walked out with the supersteels; much better feedback, and over 200.00 less expensive. they are a very easy club to hit, and very forgiving and accurate.
