I have had these irons for about 4 weeks and played 4 rounds of golf with them. They set up great, and are very easy to hit. No complaints...They are great!

These irons were fairly forgiving, but I lost 1/2 a club of distance. However they felt great and I would recommend these to someone that already has great distance with their irons.

I have tried 2 sets of supersteels with Rifle S90 & R80 shafts. I found the S90 to play too stiff. They are equal to a 6.25 rifle which is x-stiff yet the R80's play to a 4.25 which is just below regular (according to TM cust service). The Supersteels didn't fit my game as my normal iron is straight to a slight draw. The steels gave me a hook to a duck hook. Also toe shots would hook more because of the groves on the toe. I do think they draw more than normal. I switched to the Mizuno T-Zoid Sure irons & had my lowest game in 2 months With no hooks & 1 pull with S300 gold plus shafts. They fit my game much better. Good Luck!

I am 6 rounds into my purchase of super steel irons. They are deadly accurate. I hit a straight ball and the ball goes where I aim. My scores have dropped several strokes. Is that a coincidence?

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Supersteel

After trying all of the top name irons I narrowed it down to the top five makers. I just kept coming back to the Supersteels due to best results with a marginal swing and great results with a good swing. Got them at Fiddlers Green in Eugene Or. They have a driving range so one really can put them to the test and see real ball flight results. Anyway, now that I have about six rounds with them I can say that they are two clubs longer than any set I have ever played, and very straight. If my wife would let me they would be in bed with us, golf is more fun now than ever before. I was fitted into the R80 Rifle Steel shaft, one inch over, and 3 degrees upright lie. They made the grips midsize in diameter and I love their grips feel. Yes I am in love.

Taylor Made processed my special order to the tee!! The two week wait was agony but understandable.

The Supersteels are excellent irons. I tried the Titleist 981, Callaway X-14, and these. I was set on getting the X-14s for about 2 months before I actually had the money to buy my irons. I had to try others to compare.
The 981's looked like they were designed for the better players, not me - kept pushing and slicing those at the store's virtual range (very neato). The club heads looked so tiny and we all know that means a 'smaller' sweet spot. For beginners like me, we need a big sweet spot. The Callaways were very good but the TM Supersteels were a little bit better. I got farther distances when I tried them with graphite shafts - Callaway's Reg flex and TM's Bubble shaft Reg flex (which is stiffer than Callaway's Reg flex). There were so many lines tracing the balls I've hit after trying all three clubs that when I decided that it would have to be between the TM's and the Callaways, the salesman reset the range. He told me to hit 3 good swings with the Callaway 5-iron and 3 with the Supersteel 5-iron both w/ graphite shafts. The results were what convinced me to buy the TM Supersteels.

Distance - about the same for both models.
Trajectory - Callaway gave me three different trajectories. Low, Med-high, and High. The Supersteels gave me high trajectories that were consistent.
Direction - Callaway ended up in three different spots. One was off the fairway to the left. Two were on, although one was a sliced ball. The TMs all landed on the fairway. Probably within 4 yards left to right. NO JOKE!

I WAS SOLD and bought a set then and there. Luckily, when I was fitted, I needed the standard length and lie and they had a set in stock. WOOHOO!

They were about $180 cheaper than the X-14's and I got better results. Excellent value and they are a great set of irons.

Had the good fortune to try these clubs. (A friend bought a set) - lowered my hcp. 3 points. Going to buy my own set as soon as possible. Shoots long and straight shots, about an iron longer than my own set.

Just purchased a set of Supersteel irons after trying various other clubs. These clubs are long, straight and very forgiving. I scored my lowest round the first time I played these clubs. The white scoring on club face is unique and adds confidence in setup. I highly recommend Supersteel irons for anyone wishing to improve their game. Great price compared to DCI 981 and X-14.

These irons are great...traded in a new set of Callaway X-12s for these (if you shoot a natural draw, the X-12s will turn it into a hook). These clubs are forgiving (an immense sweet spot) and the spin is incredible. These irons ARE harder than regular stainless steel because the balls just jump off the clubface. Not really an important factor but the grips are the best.
