Taylor Made RAC OS Irons
I just got these irons yesterday. I went to the range as soon as UPS driver dropped them off. Bought from TGW and they are a class act. I took my old irons with me and began by hitting a 6 iron. I was hitting it good right at the 150 yd flag into a strong wind comng at me. I them pulled out my new OS 6 iron and the first shot I knew I had made a good choice. It felt more solid then my other club and the ball went passed the flag. I think I have gained a club length with these irons but it may be because I have gone from a stiff shaft on my old Taylor Made Burner OS irons to a regular shaft on the OS. I finished the bucket of balls completley happy with my new set of clubs. I even hit the 3 iron well. These clubs feel so good and when I did miss hit I was not punished too bad. Also I like the grips something other posters have complained about. Great clubs! Customer Service I wrote Taylor Made to ask about what golfer these clubs are targeted for and got a lame answer about going to my local shop. So that kind of disapointed me Similar Products Used: Taylor Made OS burner were my old irons. I also demoed the Nike sling shot and the Cleveland T6. The Taylor Made RAC OS I liked the most without question |

These are excellent clubs for beginners or people like me who shoot in the 100s and need help with their game. I tried out the Ping G2s and these clubs before I made up mind. I was hitting them both pretty consistently, but the Taylormades just felt better. I would highly recommend getting fitted for clubs. I had a used set of Titleist DCI-Golds before I got these. The Titleists were too upright for me and I could not hit them well. When testing the Pings and the Taylormades, I made sure I got custom fitted by a pro and it made a world of difference when I finally got my clubs (2 degree flat). The ball-flight was much straighter. I hook and slice a lot less now. These clubs make it easier to hit the ball even with the less-lofted irons. I am now able to hit my 4 and 5 irons well which I could never do with the Titleists. The cavity-back design and the oversize clubface makes them very easy to hit. "Working" the ball is not a major concern for me right now. All I want is to be able to hit the ball straight consistently, which I do with these clubs. I have played 4-5 rounds with these clubs, and I also practice twice a week. I have steadily added distance to my shots and now hit 10 yards longer with each club than I did when I first picked them up. I have gained about 15 yards per club and a lot of accuracy compared to my old clubs. I feel a lot more confident when I address the ball which, to me, is the most important thing when I play a round. Customer Service Havent needed it so far. Similar Products Used: Ping G2. Taylor Made rac OS Irons
I purchased my rac OS irons a while ago, hopping to upgrade my set of hand-me_downs from my dad. And what an upgrade it was. The feel of the clubs was uncompareable and the looks unmatched. Before buying the irons I also tried the Cleveland TA7 and Ping i3. I was hitting the rac OS irons consistantly further and straighter than the TA7's and i3's. I was espacially won over by the eye catching design on the back of the club. After getting the clubs custom fitted (a must for anyone interested in purchasing any clubs) I was ready to hit the course. It took me a little while to get used to the clubs but once i did i was consistantly shooting in the mid to lower 80's. However, now that my game has improved im am a little dissapointed. The larger oversived club face makes it difficult to form shots with and increase my club haed speed. With this in mind I have been looking at the rac LT irons which have the same great looks, but a smaller more blade-like club head. Overall i was very satified with my rac OS irons. RAC OS reg flex
I have used these irons for a full year now and have come to the conclusion that they are amazing. The heads are a little bigger than I would have liked, but the forgiveness is incredible. I have the regular flex steel shafts which are pretty decent considering I have a 105mph swing speed. In terms of distance I find them average. The long irons are extremely easy to hit, and they produce a slight draw. I think that these are irons that everyone one should try before they buy there next set. I had been playing with the 690s for about 7 months when I started not playing as much. I was hitting consistent 90s (in the 80s about 4 times) at the time from the middle tees but I could never hit the 3-6 irons consistently. And I dreaded having to use them off the tee. On top of that, I played less frequently, maybe once or twice a week. So I needed irons with more forgiveness cuz I couldn't get to the range/course as much. Did some research & ended up going back to Taylormade for the RAC OSs (I owned the LCG's before the 690s). Took them to the range & noticed that I hit them much higher than the MBs, but I think that's the usual when comparing blades to cavitybacks. It also took awhile transitioning from no offset with the MBs to having one with the OSs. But after 2 trips to the range & some trial & error on the courses, I can now hit any iron off the tee or off the deck with confidence. I'll occasionally fight a fade, but 9/10 of the time the flight is straight & high, even with a 3iron. I'm not saying these clubs are a cure-all. I've since put ALOT of work into my swing, mainly slowed it down. But now it feels like I just have to drop the head squarely at the ball & it takes off straight (I use the Maxfli Revolution..a spin ball). Also proof that swing > club, is that I have no balls marks at the toe/heel of club: I've improved my swing enough to pure it most times. And if you do pure it, the OSs do feel like a blade but not as good as the 690s. In summary, these clubs offer the needed forgiveness for a mid-high handicapper. Workability is somewhat there. Pured irons are rewarding (more than the LCGs anyways). The grips are tacky enough for me, but I haven't played in the rain yet. The stock steel shafts are light, but not too light. The clubhead bottoms do scuff up after awhile. But coming from the 690s, I am 100% happy I chose these clubs & 100% positive I made the right decision. After a month & a half, I'm averaging about the same as I did with the 690s, but from the tips =))) Customer Service not used Similar Products Used: TM LCG, Titleist 690mb |

RAC O/S
Amazing how the reviews differ... well, I guess that is why the major brands sell so much stuff, lots of club junkies out there and I am among the worst. Seems I have hit (owned) just about every iron made. So far the most consistent, easiest to hit and longest are a set of RAC O/S clones made by Turbo Power, the R200 model, with an off brand R flex steel shaft called "Steel Technology Series", and great Lampkin Mid-size wrap grips. This model, for some reason is very hard to find now. Yes, I know U guys HATE clones, but who cares? I paid $100 NEW for the 3-PW, and am scoring in the low 80's and high 70's. Gave up my Callaway X-16's ($575 used) and shaved 10 strokes off my game. Hey, I know it's fun to "Buy 'n Try", but if you have a tight budget, and or shoot in the 90's (or higher), take a lesson from Buddah and control your ego, buy a set of clones, learn to meditate, and go out there and have a blast! Taylor Made RAC OS Irons
This is my first set of irons since I felt I'd outgrown my 'starter' set of Wilson's I bought from a friend for $100. I also purchased the RAC Fe203 56/12 Wedge (replacing a $5 clubhouse special) I'd shot 100 and thought it was time. I'd hit friends clubs: Ping I3+ (a bit too small for me, sweet spot wise), Cal.x-16's (nice sweet spot, a bit pricey) and knew the kmart wilsons could use some help. My measured avg. swing speed is 106mph, and I wanted something a bit forgiving as i'm still working on my technique, so jumping straight up to 'blades' was out. So i demo'd a few, and the RAC OSes were the best compromise of power and accuracy for the money for my swing. They were very heel/toe forgiving, never 'slamming' my palms on mis-hits, unlike my cheapie wilsons. Although the shafts are pretty light (i got the stiff steel) they heads are a bit heavier than my partner's clubs (incl. the nike combo set), so the get through the rough easily. Long irons: yes, a bit more distance than my wilsons; but more noticable: less roll. Short irons: although the proper lenght for me: the clubs feel shorter, have to be real conscious of keeping hands in front of clubhead and staying down. only a 5 yd change in distance in the 7 - PW clubs. Grips: were replaced to V17's real fast. Draw/Push: still doable with placement of feet, so I don't mind the 'go-straight' cavity design. If you're looking for putting lotsa english on the ball, look at the RAC LT/MBs. Plenty of ball height, even with the slightly more aggressive lofts, prob. due to the offset (the club face is a bit behind the shaft on the shorter clubs) - this promotes you getting your hands in front of the ball (a good thing) -but as the other reviews point out, some folks can't deal with the change. My wilsons had it like this, so it wasn't a change for me at all. better grips and a longer lasting finish would make the 5/5 overall, but there's always room for improvement. After stairing at these irons for several months I finally got to go play yesterday. I got them with steel stiff shafts and also got fitted. One word for these things perfect for my game, I can honestly say I didn't have one bad iron shot all day they are very forgiving and strait. As soon as I get my distances dialed in these things will greatly help my game. One bad thing about them is the grips, I took them off and replaced with Winn V17 no more glove for me. If anyone is having trouble with miss hits and consistancy go get yourself a set of RAC OS irons. Customer Service Took a while to get them, but it was a round Christmas Similar Products Used: Taylor Made series 200 |

I had taken 10 years off from playing and gave these cavity backs a shot. I had played an old set of Taylor Tour Preferred irons circa 1989. These clubs are very forgiving and easy to hit. I ordered them with the rifle 6.0 shafts which seemed to fit nicely. The quality of the clubs was very good, but I soon found that they hindered my progress. The offest prevented me from hitting knock downs, and I never really got used to that mallet like profile on the short irons and PW. Overall, great club if you shoot high 80's on up. If you want to improve, you may outgrow them. Customer Service Never needed it for these, but my experience with Taylor Made has never been anything but stellar. I bought these clubs a year ago and loved them more than just about anything in the world. They felt so nice. The first time I hit the club, there was a brief fraction of a milisecond that seemed to last for an eternity where you could feel the ball becoming one with the club. Then there would be this explosion of a ball comimg off the face and it was just really, really fun to play with these clubs. But something happened. I actually started becoming a very poor ball striker. I realize now that these clubs give 0 feedback, which is cool if your 85 years old, but not good if you're trying to become a better golfer. These clubs really don't go farther than any other club I've ever hit (and it seems like I was losing distance over time). The offset is way too exagerated for me, and I was continually fighting not to pull the ball. The clubs themselves started to deteriorate before my eyes. Even though I take very, very good care of my clubs, rust spots started showing up in the middle of the summer. There are three identical hot spots of rust on the face of the 7, 6, & 5. I feel like I got shafted because the clubs virtually have no re-sale value. These are really nice clubs, don't get me wrong. I still have my attachments to the 4 & 3 irons. Just don't buy them retail. Get a good deal on Ebay around $250-$300 new, even better under $200 slightly used. The grips are just fine if you wear a glove. Customer Service TGW.com is not my favorite (personal opinion). Never really satisfied with any of my three or four purchases there. One time they messed up really bad and sent some Bridgestone EV Classic Distance Golf Balls as a way of saying sorry (gee, thanks) Similar Products Used: TM Supersteel clones, Ping EYE |
