The RAC irons are the most solid and consistent irons I have played with. My handicap has dropped steadily the last 1.5 years I have used them, BUT I had issues with Taylor Made in regards to the steel shafts. Some shafts broke in strange manners during normal play. I have reshafted all mine with True Temper.

Customer Service

Not only bad, but RUDE! When I answered a question about where one shaft had broken, I was told "That is not swing related", and they hung up!!

Wow! What a club. I started using the irons and it was like I was a different player. I have used Callaway irons for years starting with the original Big Bertha's in the 1990's. My last set of irons were the Callaway VFT's with graphite shafts. Very expensive. About two months ago, I traded the VFT's for the new version of the Big Bertha. I hit them well but direction was a problem. Now I generally shoot in the mid 80's on my regular courses. When I traded the 2004 Big Bertha's for the Rac HT's, I knew I was in heaven. So easy to get off the ground. Even my lower irons are high shots and with high shots comes hope. I feel I can now get to the next level in golf. Go to your local store and try them out for a round. You won't look back.

Pretty new golfer who started off on borrowed Macgregor irons and thought I was making some headway. Drove the ball pretty well at the range but terribly on the course. Bought a set of Taylor Made RAC OS irons and was looking forward to seeing the difference, what a shock, played for weeks at the range to get used to them and was much worse than I was previously, even thought about selling my irons. As a last throw of the dice I decided to played an actual round, what a difference, I've noticed that my 1-3 good shots a round has suddenly increased to around 1o-15 good shots in my humbe view bearing in my mind I'm a beginner, obviously the range doesn't agree with me. I'm now looking forward to playing on the course JK57

I recently was looking to replace my wilson 1200 irons that were handed down to me. I first tried the rac Os irons and instantly fell in love with them. Aside from there great overall appearence they were the most forgiving irons i ever used. I found that even when I skulled the golf ball or hit it off the top of the club when I tee'd the ball to high they still flew straight without losing many yards. When I first bought these irons i thought that the "feel pockets" were just a gimmick and were for show, but i found that these pockets give instant feedback and feel on the shots you hit. The only downsize to these irons are that they arent as easy, as blades, to work the ball both ways but i find that i still hit a consistant shot shape with them. But hey most ameteur golfers cant work the ball both ways and would rather hit a straight shot. I believe that the only other category these irons could be better in is the grips. The grips are nice when its dry but wen it gets wet you better be carrying an umbrella because these can slip, although i have never sent one of these clubs flying, i have come close. I recommend these irons to any golfers that want to play a good game.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made ROC OS Irons

Over the past few years, I’ve been able to reduce my handicap from a 14 to a 6. I hit my driver with decent distance and accuracy and have a very reliable short game. However, the thing that has really kept me from any further improvement has been my iron play from 130 yards out and longer. I’m lucky if I hit 2 out of 4 par threes per round and hit fewer than one half of the greens if I’m hitting anything more than an 8 iron. While I’m sure some of this has to do with the ability (or lack thereof) of the person swinging the club, I began to think it might be time to trade in my Taylor Made 320’s for something a little more forgiving. My dilemma is I simply could not get comfortable hitting oversized irons. They either looked way too clunky or lacked the feel of my forged blades. As a result, I just couldn’t bring myself to switch to an oversized iron even though I knew it would probably help my game. Well, all that changed when I demoed the RAC OS irons. 15 minutes of hitting these clubs at the driving range convinced me that I had to own them. I was hitting higher, longer, and better clustered iron shots that I have EVER hit before. I promptly headed back to 2nd Swing and bought a set with the Precision LT Rifle steel shafts (standard loft and lie). I have since played a few rounds with them and absolutely love them. All the pluses that I read about the RAC OS are true. They are VERY forgiving. What used to be good hits with my old irons are now great hits and what used to be lousy hits are now acceptable hits that often find their way onto the green. This is particularly true of thin shots. The extra mass at the bottom of the club head puts plenty of “oomph” behind the ball and gets it up in the air and on its way to the target. I’m also pleasantly surprised to find that the ball goes consistently AT LEAST 10 – 15 yards farther (and sometimes 20 yards further) than they did when I was using my old 320’s. I say “pleasantly surprised” since I’ve tried many irons over the years that claimed to add 10 yards or more to every shot and I rarely found much, if any, improvement when I tried them. The RAC OS is the Real Deal when it comes to extra distance. These irons are also great out of the rough. The extra weigh and mass makes it easy to cut through the grass and attack the ball. The course I play has plenty of long, thick rough. So, I’m really enjoying this feature when one of my wayward drives ends up in a less than desirable lie. Lastly, I can’t get over how much “feel” there is in these irons. I can’t even begin to comprehend the science and technology behind the Tuned Cartridge System. All I know is that Taylor Made has produced the only cast, oversized iron that I have ever hit that truly gives you feedback. You have to hit this club and experience the feeling yourself. The only moderate complaint that I have is it takes a little bit of time to get used to the offset design, especially if you aren’t used to playing with offset clubs and already tend to hit the ball with some draw. At first, I had to be careful not to hit too hard of a draw. However, with a few small adjustments to my grip and ball position, I was able to get back to a straight ball flight. I haven’t had the problem with the grips that have been reported by other reviewers. However, I “broke in” my irons using a brand new glove. I’ll have to wait and see what happens when my glove wears out a bit. All in all, I couldn’t be happier with my RAC OS irons. I feel like I have added the missing piece in my equipment arsenal that will allow me to continue to improve my game. Also, it’s really nice to finally step up to the tee on a par three and not have to sheepishly pull out a 5 iron when the rest of your group are all hitting 7 irons. Golf’s a tough enough game without having to spend 4+ hours on the course feeling “distance disadvantaged”.

These really are outstanding irons, very straight and I'm getting about 10 yards better than my Adams GT Tight Lies. Which I used to think were long. The vibration dampening is great and still allows enough feel to know how well you have struck the ball. But the greatest feature is how forgiving these clubs are, they have to be miss hit to be believed.

i just bought these clubs and love them. i've only been playing golf about 2 years and had been using tommoy armour evo 31's. they were ok for me, but i liked the way these looked and felt from day 1. 2 days after i bought them, i shot my lowest score ever, including an eagle on a 507 yd par 5. maybe confidence had something to do with my score, but i know the clubs helped a lot. they added about 12-15 yards per shot and went straight almost every single time. great clubs that i would recomend to anybody, i'm hooked.

Great irons if you can get past the off-set. The head size doesnt bug you that much after you get used to it. I was playing the 762's and dropped an honest 10 strokes with the Racs, im not saying that, i really have dropped the strokes!! The first round i used them..bought them put them in the bag went to the course. Shot my lowest round on my home course ever! I hit a much straighter ball, and im atleast a club to a club and a half longer. Found the height of the ball a bit of an issue in high winds. Off centre hits still climb, almost impossible to hit worm burners with these things. The ball does just drop on the green and dies. All and all a great club. Ive never hit so many par 3's before ever! I picked them up in a golf shop used for 500 bucks, try them before you knock the off-set or the head size. If its an ego thing..oversize i cant use those! I think its better for the ego to drop some shots and hit some greens! They have honestly done wonders for my game.

I bought these clubs on ebay about two months ago and I have loved them ever since I got them. I was a little concerned at first that the heads maybe too big but they were fine. A lot of people have complained about the grips being too slippery but I disagree. I don't find myself hitting the ball much further than my previous irons which were tommy armour stripes but I do find I hit them a lot more consistant. I would highly reccomend these to any level of players. Awesome clubs

These clubs are easy to hit and if you hit them off center you do not pay the price. I was using old Hogan Blades and even thought the transition has been about 10 rounds the clubs are well worth the $$$.
