2004 RAC LT Graphite Shafts
I really like these irons, they have the looks of forged blade clubs, thin topline, fairly compact head, very little offset and nice finish. They are very solid - both long and accurate - more forgiving than forged clubs. The graphite shafts are good for me since I love to practice and hit a lot of balls, easier on my hands and back I think. All in all, a great performing set of irons and they look great in my bag. Customer Service Never tried. Similar Products Used: Just about every model released last year. |

I got a chance to try these yesterday. I was complaining to the rep about how my CXI's had a lot of offset, but that I was nowhere near good enough to hit anything too blade-like. He got me to give these a try. I try to put an intentional outside-in move on iron shot to stop hooking...on the first shot with this I got a big fat slice...first time ever. After that I started doing a nice smoothe swing and noticed a real difference. They look really nice at address, and the feel is very good. I really like the less pronounced offset, and the price is nothing to complain about either...I will have to give these some serious consideration. PS. I did not get any major difference in length, but my swing speed is 115 mph with the driver, so I am much more concerned with direction. Customer Service I've only owned 1 TM club and I never had problems with it, so I wouldnèt know. Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA7. |

BEST club ... GREAT value. This is a follow up to a previous posting. Now that I've had a season to play these, I know these will be in my bag for many more. My handicap has dropped from a 19 to a 10 ... and improving. Better clubs, combined with good instruction, have me on my way to single digits. Highly recommend these clubs! Plays like forged yet more forgiving. I've added the 5 iron to my bag (now play 5 through PW). Anything from 180 yards to 110 yards (the range of the TM LTs in my bag)is spot on! The Rifle 5.5 shafts are the perfect match for me. Longer clubs are hybrids (Ben Hogan) or Woods (Mizuno, Ping). Wedges are 52 deg, 56 degree, 60 degree and 64 degree. |

Oh boy...!!! Awesome clubs. I had the big birtha iron set, 8 or 9 years ago... I had no problems with them, they are great iron... good for beginners. I felt in love with the LT's as soon as I hit a 7 iron at the range. I thought I was going to have problems with the long irons, specially with 3 and 4, but I was able to hit with them, they are little harder to hit, but I just have to practice a little more and make them into "my club". I gained about a club or club and half in distance. With big birtha I used to hit 150 with 7 iron normal swing, but with the LT's I could get there with an easy 8 iron. I got the S300 Shaft, It was a good choice for me. LT stands for Love Taylormade and not Low Trajectory... : -) didn't low my trajectory at all. Obviously LT is less forgiving than big birtha. I thought about getting the OS instead of LT. But control is what I wanted. I wanted to move on from the comfort zone. "Little bit off is ok because the club is forgetting so it will be ok... comfort zone!" Now that I have moved on from the comfort zone I trust my swing more, It gives me better distance and it is helping me to be a better iron player. If you play with old iron set and thinking about switching, I'd strongly encourage you do that. Look for a club that meets your need! Don't forget to try out the LT's. |

I absolutely loved the clubhead of the rac LT's.Coming from oversided game improvement clubs (Armour 855's) these clubs looked a lot nicer at address. I loved the thinner topline and less offset than what I was playing. They have a sweet feel when struck nicely and the ball jumps nicely off the clubhead. I found them to be fairly forgiving for a "players" club also. The only problem I had is I bought them with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts (which were recommended for my swing speed) but it was the first time playing with dynamic golds and I didn't really like how heavy they felt. So I sent them back to TGW and exchanged them for some Ben Hogan Apex Edge Pro's which Hogan's shafts are frequency matched and their stiff shaft is more than 10 grams lighter than dynamic gold s300. I would have exchanged them for rifle 5.5 shafts in them but they didn't have any rifle shafts in stock. I eventually would like to own a set of the RAC LT's in rifle 5.5 because I really do like these clubs! Customer Service TGW was great to do business with!! Both sets of clubs were sent the same day I ordered them and I received them both in 2 days. They also handled the exchange promptly.(They have a 30 day playability on a lot of their clubs) Similar Products Used: snake eyes 600c, ben hogan apex edge pro |

folks let me start by saying that the LT's are without a doubt the easiest irons to hit, plus they head straight for the pin... I have played everything. Blades mostly, we your game is on there is no better, however there are days when you look like a weekend hacker... I have played 6 rounds now with the LT's, they will never leave my bag. I have made myself hit mis-shots just to see exactly what the ball does. It always advances towards the green with plenty of yardage, keeping the ball in play. I can actually work the ball a bit better with the LT's than I did with the blades. Let's face it we are not machines. We do not have the resources Tiger, Ernie, Phil ect... have at their call. I always thought forged blades would make me a better ball striker. I must admit they don't.....Through the 6 rounds I have played 77 has been my highest score. (bad tee shots and poor PUTTING) have caused that... the feel and the ball control with the LT's are excellent. In fact all of my golfing buds that shoot sub to par hit cavity back irons, the most for giving irons they can find. ( ping i3, TM OS, x16, ta6, ect..) it truly is wonderful to watch people shoot 2-4 under a round. that is my goal and I am working towards it everytime I play. I strongly believe the LT's will HELP me reach that goal... Similar Products Used: you name it |

Taylor Made RAC Lt Irons
I am a very happy guy. Taylor Made has a sleeper in these clubs. Golf Magazine's '04 club review doesn't list these as available, which is too bad because they are (for my swing, by far) the best of the RAC series. I use a 6-PW in this club. Good feel/feedback, smaller head, thin topline at address, and workable (better left than right). The Rifle 5.5 shafts have improved my tempo and my game. After many years of using stiff shafts, I am now a believer that most (male) golfers select shafts that are too stiff. I set aside my ego and couldn't be happier with the results. This is my third set of custom clubs ... with the best result so far. One caution: these do have stronger lofts. In mixing my set, I found my RAC Lt 5 iron to be as long as the Tour Edge 4 Ironwood I just purchased. I like the trajectory of the hybrid Ironwood (high, little spin and less roll), and its a good trouble club, so the 5 iron is out. My 3 and 4 irons are out too ... in favor of fairway woods. I can hit all 3 ... I'm just better served by the hybrid and the woods. Customer Service No issue. Nice set of clubs. I have tried alot of sets and continue to try more. I am an equipment junkie.I am actually hitting these clubs best of all I have tried so far. An earlier reviewer suggests that you need a pretty swing to hit these or go with Ta6's or the OS. He may be right, but don't let the LT moniker fool you. LT stands for Low Trajectory. I hit the PW, 9, 8, 7 sky high, the rest of the set produces pretty high trajectories compared to other irons I have tried. I can't hit the 3 iron to well so I replaced it with a Rescue Mid 3, and that worked out great. The scoring irons in this set are very accurate. Keep the grovves clean though. I have the rifle 6.0 shafts which I really enjoy. The heads look good at address with a nice profile. I purchased them because I wanted to bridge the gap between game emprovement and blades. I couldn't pass up the deal on ebay as the guy was just looking to get rid of them. Customer Service Haven't used them Similar Products Used: Cleveland ta5, ta7, Ping I3+ |
