This replaced Callaway X 16 Pros. They are more solid, longer, more consistent and look more compact and streamlined. I can't even look at a Callaway X iron now. I agree with the other dudes. S300 is heavy and difficult to hit long irons unless you are one strong ox. I still like to hit the 2 iron so I changed out the S300 for a Rifle Flighted 5.5 shaft and fell in love. My driver speed is 100 mph. I am now down to the five iron. I am replacing the shafts one by one and feeling the difference as I go. The 5 iron is the same length but easier to launch and hit straight. The Rifle just feels good. I expect I will change out the entire set down thru the 9 iron. I hit the short irons super with the S300 but I expect the Rifle will be more consistent.

I actually hit th3 5 iron with Rifle 5.5 and the 6 iron with S300 on the GolfTec system. Gripped the 5 iron at the same shaft length. You could actually see the the shaft on the 5.5 load at the top and unload before impact. The S300 in the 6 iron barely deflected.

Brother, unless you are one hard banging dude, get yourself some Rifle shafts. My conclusion is the S300 is about a 5.7 frequency Rifle equivalent. The Rifle is just lighter and a little softer. I did not test the Project X.

Buy yourself some R7 TP is you can play the game.

I, like many other people here use this site to research with when considering new equipment. I am left handed so I can't just go down to the local golf shop and demo whatever it is that I am considering so I do appreciate the honest reviews here. Now for the good stuff. WOW!!! I absolutely love these irons. I am a 9 handi, so by no means am I a scratch golfer. My swing speed is 93mph, so basically average. I am hitting a set that has the Dynamic Gold R300's which as you know is the regular flex. The shafts are a little heavy but I am not ready to change them out just yet. The looks, feel and performance of these irons is amazing. I am hitting it deadly accurate with a perfect ball flight and the ball just hits and stops on the green. I love it! I hope this review will help someone else in their buying process. Hitem well and good luck!!

This box is not big enough to put them all down. I buy and sell clubs so I have my choice on what I play and these are it!!!

I agree with the previous reviews - this club is awesome - demo them with project x or royal precision flighted shafts - they take this tour proven favourite club head to a whole new level - leave the dynamic gold shafts alone - they will weigh you down (literally) the other shafts are easier to hit and will outperform the dynamic golds hands down.

As they say for drivers, the shaft is the engine of the golf club which will determine the performance of the club, and this of course applies to irons as well, so dont take the stock standard dynamic gold shafts without trying the better performing project x and royal precision flighted shafts first.

Recently played MP 32's & swore I would never change!...Until I was fitted for R7 Tp's with 5.5 Flighted Rifle shafts...I could not believe the difference from S300's...They have a softer feel so they feel like the forged Mp 32's but have the length & forgiveness of the cast irons....Highly recommend getting fitted & try the Rifle Shafts as well...

After playing with some 845 irons for the past 5 yrs, I decided it was time to get a new set of sticks. I went out and shopped around few about 2 months, trying all the irons that are in the same class. I liked the mizuno mp-60’s, the cobra carbon cb’s, pings, Cleveland CG 4 Tours and they really don’t measure up to the TM’s, in my opinion. The TM’s best characteristic is consistency and that is what I was looking for most. There was in increase in distance but not truly significant. Forgiveness is there, it’s not tremendous but if you catch it thin, you’ll get 75% of what you’re looking for in the shot.

When I setup and have to hit it a certain distance, I know it will go where I want it go. You can work the ball left or right with relative ease, same goes for trajectory. I have more confidence than ever, with the thin top-line and tour sole. I got them with the stock steel shafts, stiffs and couldn’t be happier. With 6 rounds under my belt, I’m seeing changes in my game already. My power fade is gone and now I’m playing a consistent draw (better suits the courses I play most often). Overall, it’s a great set of sticks and I’m thinking at the rate I’m going, I should be below a 10 by the end of the season.

I know that TM is well known for their drivers and fairway woods but if you’re in the market for new irons, you really should give them some consideration. Oh….the part of the lower handicaps club only? Well, there is some truth to that; if you don’t make good contact a lot, chances are you won’t be too pleased with these and would be better off with the regular r7’s.

I had my clubs built when the Tech Van was in town. Great service so far!

I have played the Maxfli revolution irons for the past 5 years and thought they were the best clubs I ever hit until I hit these. I can't believe how consistent these irons are and the balance is great. After trying out plenty of other sets of irons, I believe these are the best out there.

Customer Service

Taylor Made customer service is good. I custom ordered and had the irons in a week.

My Mizuno MP-32's were not doing the job, tried the R7 TP's and immediately started searching on ebay for a set.. Found them on ebay for a great price with S-300 shafts. I highly recommend them to anybody who likes to work the ball or just hit solid iron shots. Feel is great and the ball is easy to control.

What a wonderful set of clubs! I have always been a bit erratic with my iron play and had been pretty much of a Ping bigot. I don't know what it is, the setup looks, the balance, the technology or what, but I am consistent with these clubs! I manage to hit them sweet 90% of the time and the other 10% don't beat me up too badly. They are not overly long, but I must repeat, are consistent as heck.

My pro recommended sticking with the DG S-300 versus other shafts. They allow me to hit the ball high or low without much effort. Working the ball is not as easy for me as some, but I can manage to do so when needed (need to work on my consistency here).

Bottom line, these clubs have allowed my iron play to become the strength of my game. Missing fairways isn't the disaster it has been in the past (I can dig them out of some pretty nasty stuff). Best of all these clubs are affordable being cast. Somebody is going to have to pry these out of my hands in order make a switch to another brand.

Now, if only somebody could make a putter that cured the yips!

Customer Service

Never used it, but they delivered the clubs in about 10 days with lie and length alterations.

I was playing a 15 year old+ set of Ram forged irons which i loved so when I set out to get a new set of irons I was very careful.I had demoed Titleist 735's, mp60's, mp 33's,Cleveland cg-2's,Nike pro tour combos, and the Callaway x-forged(which would've been my 2nd choice).I decided on the r7 TP's and think they are phenomenal. They have a great balance of feel, forgiveness and workability. They may not be as pure as my old Ram's but they are more forgiving and still feel great.

Best irons I have ever owned... period. I had not broken 80 since last summer although I had come close several times, and lo and behold, my first round with these sticks in the bag I fired a seemingly effortless even par 72. Gorgeous at setup, forgiving when you need it and almost as workable as a blade. I thought iron technology had hit a ceiling several years ago, but TaylorMade just keeps on pushing the edge technology envelope.

Customer Service

Customer service was great, giving me advice on what would be best for my game, and they were dead on right.
