TaylorMade 320 Irons

TaylorMade 320 Irons

DESCRIPTION

From TaylorMade: "The 320 Iron comes with a moderate topline and slight offset - carrying a traditional, yet confident look at address. Each club is optimized for its intended shot: the long irons have a lower center of gravity and negative bounce to help create lift, while the short irons have a higher center of gravity and positive bounce to reduce drag and prevent shots from floating or ballooning."

I tried many sets of irons last summer before I finally found these beauties. I was trying oversized irons of every brand. I finally decided to try the 320's and was extremely supprised how nice and easy they hit. It only took a little while to get used to the smaller club head size. Also I hit more solid shots with the smaller club heads then I did with any of the oversize, so don't be afraid to try non-oversized and blade irons. I especially like the long irons and how easy they are to hit. I could not hit long irons for crap until I tried these clubs. The rifle shafts on them fit them perfect. I hate when you buy a new set of irons and have to get new shafts put on because the standard ones are so bad. They aren't the most dazzeling looking clubs out there, like the callaway hawkeyes which I tried and absolutely hated), but they make up for the appearence with the play. They are definately worth the price and then some. Can be found on ebay know for $400 and even less.

THESE ARE VERY GOOD CLUBS, I PICKED THEM UP NEW IN BOX FOR $390.00 AT PROGOLF!!! THESE IRONS ARE A LITTLE HEAVIER THAN MY OLD ACERS, BUT ONCE I GOT USED TO HTEM THERE IS NO COMPARISON. WHEN STRUCK CORRECTLY HTESE IRONS FEEL LIKE BUTTER! I HAVE THE S-90 FLEX STEEL AND THESE SHAFTS FIT MY SWING 95-105 MILES PER HOUR. GREAT BUY IF YOU CAN FIND THEM STILL ON THE SHELVES.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made 320s - S90 shaft

I've been playing Hogan Apex Edges for the past two years, but have had trouble with mis-hit balls. The Hogans are excellent if you hit it on the sweet spot, but all too often, I'm out on the toe. Went to a golf shop while in NYC and demo'd 6 sets in their sim. Liked both the 320s & the Cobra Oversized best, and was going to purchase the Cobras because of price ($599 vs $729 for the TMs), but decided to wait. Boy, am I glad I did! I sold my Hogans to a friend who was playing with a boxed set, but who hits the ball in the sweet spot much more than I do, and who loved the look of my clubs. I decided to get in one more late-season round, but had to borrow irons from the course. While talking to the pro, he mentioned his end-of-season sale. I zeroed in on the TM 320s immediately, and got them at a steal! I've played 2-1/2 rounds with them, and let me tell you, I *LOVE* THEM! Mis-hits are still as long as well-hit balls with my Hogans, and the feel cartridge dampens the vibration. I've shot two rounds in the high 80s (never had broken 90 before) and a 42 for 9. I'm LOVING these clubs, and can't wait for next season...now, if the weather will cooperate here in Alaska! :)

Customer Service

None for these clubs, but I've had to deal with a Burner driver that broke, and TM replaced it with a 320 model for no cost (not even shipping to Alaska). That wins my loyalty!

i took up golf 13 months ago, with second hand set of Wilsons and a 3 wood. There was only so far a set such as this could take me. I managed to get down to a 17 handicap, incidentally, i am 17 yrs old. i had origanlly been looking at Mizuno's or Titliest or Lynx but the guy in the shop looked at my swing and recommended these. I was told my swing is 90mph so the S90 is perfect. Used for one round so far, feel like blades out of the middle and good forgiveness. Definitely recommend to any mid-low handicapper looking to improve. longer irons easy to use and the shorter irons produce nice flight and plenty of spin. they also look fantastic, both in the bag and behind the ball. BUY THESE IRONS NOW, thankyou TM

this was my first 'brand-name' club set. & it was NOT easy learning how to swing this club. (i had quite fast down-swing).. my first rounding with the set (without sufficient practice), i shot 90's.. i was so made and blamed all on the club. i thought i'd wasted $700 for nothing.. (or maybe i should've gotten S90 shaft) with vengence, i practiced some more (1.5 times a week for two months).. i reallyed worked on slowing down my swing.. at first i lost about 5 yards, but i gained them back immediately. then the true TM-320 effeciency came alive.. my next rounding i shot mid 80's (my TM putter was just awesome).. down went my strokes.. the amazing rifle shaft and feel-great club heads are only the beginning of amazing golf experience. last time i played 9 hole under the rain, i shot 39.. (with avg putting) bottom line: tm-320 is just great, but make sure you practice.!!! if you're looking for a club, this just might do the job!!!

Very good accuracy. Soft feel even with stiff graphite shafts. The "feel cartridge" actually does what they say, you don't notice the vibration as much. Price I think is a bit high. Search sales and auctions. Retail was $800, I paid $500.

Great clubs with feel, accuracy and forgiveness. Considered the MX 20s, 33s and the PRO II from Mizuno. MX 33s are pure blades and after a lot of debate decided against it considering that I want to play well but you also need a club with a little forgiveness. The PRO IIs were good - closest club to a blade and not being a blade. The large sole on the MX 20s put me off - its more for a 15-18 handicapper. TM 300s were very interesting to me and my accuracy and distance were very similar for the 320s and 300s. What made me chose the 320s was that on a good shot, I hit the same on both, but on a bad shot the 320s seemed more forgiving. Isnt that what you want when you are having a rough day? I normally shoot 79-80 or so and am looking to get down into the low 70s. Everyone talks about control and workability with blades, but seriously apart from the top amateurs, most of us just need a club that has a fair enough sweet spot and enough to hit the ball straight. On 9/10 shots you want to hit the ball straight rather than work the ball. TM 320s are great, worth considering them seriously. Check out yahoo shopping for online deals, they are much cheaper than a regular store. I had a store match an online price and saved $100.

This is the second part of my review. Golf isn't a very popular game here in Brazil but we do have 20+ courses in my state, which is São Paulo the most important one in Brazil.Golf is considered a sport for wealthy people here. Anyways, i've been playing a lot of golf in the last 3 months and having a lot of lessons. My father gave me these set of irons because he bought it for him and did not like the steel shafts,he plays graphite.I love the feel of a well hit ball and the bad shots are not that bad. My problem is that my shafts are R80 rifle, being 26 years old and hitting the 5 iron 190 i am almost sure i need a S90. I'm travelling to the USA pretty soon and for sure i'm going to buy a new set with S90 rifle.great great sticks.I'll add one of the R500's to my bag for sure. I'm quite athletic and i'm having 3 lessons a week + hitting thousands of balls by myself. On january my hdcp was 25, now i'm playing a solid 16,thanks a lot taylor made,by the end of the year my goal is to be close to a single digit. thank you very much TM.oh... thanks to my teacher as well, there are no miracle clubs. amazing sticks
