Snake Eyes Quick Strike Irons

Snake Eyes Quick Strike Irons

DESCRIPTION

The Snake Eyes Quick Strike utility heads combine the construction methods of both wood and iron heads to produce a utility club that has the accuracy of an iron and the distance of a wood. A number of PGA Tour Pros are switching to small utility woods or driving irons as an alternative to long irons/fairway woods because of the versatility these type of clubs offer as well as their ease of use. Hollow construction gives the Quick Strike perimeter weighting like a wood for forgiveness and face bulge allows for the gear effect to bring shots back on line when struck off-center. The face area size is closer to that of an iron allowing the Quick Strike to travel through tall grass more easily and offer improved play from fairway bunkers.

I made this club with a Snake Eyes Fire Forged shaft by UST. This combination made for an outstanding club at a fraction of the cost of some of the others. It is very straight and long, 185-195. It has quickly become my favorite club to hit. Make sure you get a good shaft because the head will torque and you will lose accuracy if you get a shaft with an inconsistent tip stiffness.

I built a 21 degree Quick Strick with the matching shaft. Fantastic, I feel every golfer should have one in there bag. Long approach shots, long par 3's and out of the heavy cabbage this is a definate go to club. I can get the same or more distance than with my 3 iron but with more hight and consistency. I use this club may be five to seven times a round and get favorable results almost every time, even the clunkers are palatable in accuracy as well in distance. I summary, I'm a 10-12 handy cap (depending on the time of the season) golfing for 10 years and this little club has completed my long game.......if only I could find a putter with the same results hummmmmm ! ! !

Model Reviewed: Quick Strike 18*

USED MY NEW QUICK STRIKE 18* TODAY. Excellent!!!!!!! First thing I noticed when I swung the new Q.S. was how well the club matched my irons. The clubmaker did a great job! It honestly felt like it was just another iron from my set (Taylor Made 300). The Rescue never gave me that feeling. The club was made for me by matching the shaft from my TM 300 irons (Rifle 5.5) and by matching the weight of my irons by adding grams to the weight ports prior to assembly. RANGE REPORT: Forgiveness-Excellent-Missed shots held their line and came up 1 or 2 clubs short. Workablity-Straight-no problem Draw- Club had a tendency to hook but my gut tells me I'll figure this out soon enough. Fade- Very easy. That's big for me as a fade is not my natural pattern. Punch shot- very easy. ON COURSE REPORT: Hole # 1-Needed to hit the QS on the first tee as the fairway ended 235 out. Hit a nice draw to position A. Perfect. Par. Hole # 4 par 5- Had a shot from right rough after blocking driver right. QS on second shot went directly on line to 80 yds out. QS was excellent out of the rough. Up and down. Birdie. Hole #12 par 5- Needed a very accurate lay up shot into a 2 club wind with water right a trees left. Punched the QS directly on line. Par. Hole # 15 par 4-Had a 190 yrd shot slighlty uphill/sidehill lie, pin back. Shot drew beautifully right over the pin and little long leaving me a tough downhill flop shot which I missed getting up and down from. Bogie. All in all an excellent club. I'm very happy and impressed. If anything, the club is a little too strong and I will have to learn to grip down for the 200 yd shot.

Model Reviewed: Snake Eyes Quickstrike 22º & 26º

These things rock! I have been struggling with woods for over a year now. Built the 22º first with a TT Lite XL shaft. Struggled a bit with it at first, then took some lessons, which helped alot. Built a 26º soon after, with a Rifle 4.5 shaft. It was a totally different club. Liked it so much I reshafted the 22º with a Rifle as well. Took them down to Gulf Shores, Alabama on vacation and played 3 rounds with my father. They were money! My father tried them out and was hooked. Shots with the 22º went high and long and straight. A very easy club to hit. Accurate too. My father liked them so much, he bought both Quickstrikes off me, and asked me to build him an 18º in time for his trip to Pinehurst in July! If you are tired of struggling with your long irons, give one of these a try. They will help put some fun back in golf for you.

I tried 5 different shafts in this club before I settled on the AeroTech Power Coil R flex tip trimmed 7/8" at 42" overall length. I''ve been playing this combination for 2 weeks now and I''m finding that it is straight, long (I''m reaching 500yd + par 5''s in 2 shots on occasion), and the ball gets up in the air very easily off a tight fairway. I''m also finding that I can choke down a few inches on the grip and hit it normally and get good, straight shots between 170yds and 200 yds depending on how far I choke down. All said and done, this is an excellent and versatile club for my swing and has helped my handicap come down considerably since I started playing with it.

After having read various reviews about this club and having tested other utility clubs at the range, I had this club built for me using a TT EI70 - stiff shaft. This thing is an absolute dream. I am a proficient iron player but have dropped my 3 iron for this thing forever. It is long. First swing, I striped this 3-iron replacement from an elevated tee throug the fairway and into the fairway bunker, a 270 yard shot I normally feel safe hitting my 5-wood hitting. I draw it naturally (with the shaft flexed at slightly softer than my woods, I have to be careful about overcooking the draw) but can easily fade it with a change in set up. I play Callaway Steelhead fairway woods which, until I stumbled across this hybrid, were the most solid feeling clubs I've ever hit. The Quick Strike blows them away in the feel department. Plus, there is so much more control than with a fairway wood. Trajectory is high but solid contact is so readily available that the wind has less effect than with my irons ... in Calgary, we play in big wind. Find a clubmaker you trust to fit an appropriate shaft (steel or graphite), put this head on it (from Gofsmith) and I can't imagine you'll be unhappy. I am having the 18 degree built, presently, to replace my 5-wood Steelhead

Model Reviewed: 7 wood and 5 wood

Made a 7 wood and loved it so much that I made a 5 wood. Getting to the age all my low irons were going the same distance just different height. Used precision shafts. Ball comes off club head like a rocket and continues to climb with the 7. 5 wood height is not as high. Tried all of the utility woods and none feel or perform the same as this. Ball have a slight draw and with 7 hits the green and stays. May reshaft and use a slightly stiffer shaft can overload current shaft with hard swing. Works great as a chipper a round the green

I had this shafted with TT XL Lite. This is a great, smooth swinging club off the tee and in the fairway. Most shots have a nice, high trajectory with pretty good accuracy. Low draws come off very well too. A nice club for no wind or the wind at your back. Suprisingly good distance. Excellent club to attack the green from distance. Plays well out of the short rough. If you're the type of player who prefers high, towering fades, this is the club for you.

This is a great club that just performs in a very solid manner. The trick is finding the correct shaft for it. I started with the quick strike graphite stiff that I hit high and inconsistent with. Now I have a True Temper Dynalite Golf s300 shaft and even though I lost a little yardage, I am now very accurate. This club gets the ball out of any lie and does an exceptional job out of fairway bunkers. It is one of the only clubs that has been in my bag for over 1 year. For my game, this is a great club.

This is an incredible club.

From the first swing, I was hitting it stright and FAR.

I highly recommend the Quick Strike as a replacement for long irons and fariway woods.

And at around $100, it's much less expensive than the big name brands.
