Definately a forgiving club. I found the distance to be somewhat less than that of my O/S Cobra knock offs. The loft was somewhat higher with some improved feel and stopping power on the greens. All in all these clubs were very forgiving and easy to hit, perhaps best suited for a mid 90's or higher handicap player. I PURCHASED THESE IRONS ON JUNE 15,2002. I USED TO BELIEVE THAT CLUB FITTING WAS A GIMMICK UNTIL I HAD THE CLUB PRO FIT ME FOR THESE IRONS. I LOVE THEM. I DID NOT LOOSE ANY DISTANCE OVER MY WILSON FATSHAFTS, BUT GAINED A TRUER BALL FLIGHT. THE PRO ASKED ME BEFORE THE FITTING WHAT MY BALL FLIGHT WAS AND OF COURSE I STATED "A FADE" BUT WHEN I STARTED HITTING THESE CLUBS I HIT A CONSISTANT 5-7 YARD DRAW. I'M NOT AN EXPERT ON HOW A CLUB "FEELS" BUT THE PING'S ARE A GIANT STEP UP FROM THE FATSHAFTS. Customer Service NO NEED YET. Similar Products Used: WILSON FATSHAFT'S, TAYLOR MADE 360 |

I'm a beginner golfer, been playing for just over a year now and shoot 120. I can't make a comparitive judgement since these are really my first set of irons but I can make some comments. After 10 months now I'm whacking the hell out of the 3,4, and 4 irons, long and high. Albeit lacking still lacking some consistency since I'm a beginner. I will say that I'm happy with the workmanship of these irons, I don't have 1 complaint about things falling off etc. I've owned these irons now for a year and wouldn't switch to any other irons, Ping's done an excellent job and filled a "niche" with custom fitting. Filled a niche because they've made it so easy for a beginner golfer like me to go out and buy pretty much the exact fitting that a golfer needs i.e. length, flex, grip size, lie. How many beginner golfers go out and buy a set of clubs based solely on advertising and friends recommendations without getting them custom fitted, I would probably say the latter. Went out last night to the driving range and yes I shanked quite a few but I know if my fundamentals are correct or close to it these Ping I3's will give me a wonderful ball flight. Customer Service No issues yet but email response to my queries on my questions have been prompt and satisfactory Similar Products Used: none |

Great irons. The mid and short irons hit high and land softly. Normally, I couldn't a 3-iron with any height, until I tried these Ping O-size. They also have great feel. The feel of these irons are not as "buttery" as forged irons, but the cushin steel shafts give these irons a very "cushioned" feel. Five stars for quality, four stars for value (still too expensive for game improvement irons). Customer Service Haven't had to use just yet. Similar Products Used: Mizuno Sure Irons |

These clubs are GREAT for what they are intended to be. Forgiving, game improvment clubs is what they are. Don't get me wrong, I have played these clubs for about 9 months and i have shot in the 70's with them but they lack the feel i want. If you're having trouble breaking 90 and you're tired of iron shots hooking/slicing into the trees then, by all means, buy these irons...they will help. I switched to Cleveland TA-3s after hitting them at a "demo-days" a couple weeks ago and i'm not sorry. They feel great but you are punished more for bad shots but on the other hand you are rewarded greatly for the good ones. If you hit more good shots than bad don't waste money on the I3's. i3 OS
These are great irons. They play consistent and reliable. If you have played more unforgiving irons successfully, such as the Titleist irons wiggindude mentioned in his review, you WILL have a tendency to hook these because they are OFFSET. (He should have tried the i3 blades. Ofcourse, if he really shoots in the 70's, he'd know how to properly adjust his grip!) I started playing the OS this spring because I needed a good AND forgiving iron set. Previously, I played quite successfully with Hogan Apex blades, but I had a pretty serious injury to my shoulder last fall, and the Hogan's are difficult to play properly with a stiff and now artheretic shoulder. For the more experienced golfer they are definitely easier to draw than to fade (on purpose that is!), but for their target player the OS are perfect...straight and true with acceptable feel. Customer Service Not had a need. Similar Products Used: None which match the characteristics of the OS. |

My i3 O-Size irons are awesome clubs. I absolutley love their forgiveness for my style of play. Irons still have a solid feel, good high trajectory and ok spin. I feel that they are easy-to-hit and still very accurate, not to mention they look great especially for the reasonable price. Hands down the best clubs I have ever played. Customer Service No need to have any, yet I have heard from other sources that PING is very good with customer service, and the pro shops speak very highly of PING in general. G-R-E-A-T! I have been using these for just over a year now and I still think these are the best irons ever. Well designed and built. Good feel for an oversize cavity back iron. Distance is consistent and longer than my old Ram set. Way more forgiving and accurate. Customer Service Tops in my book. I busted the shaft on my PW and sent it back to Ping for replacement they turned it around in less than a week and gave me a Ping diviot tool. Nice touch from a great company. Anyone who gives these clubs a bad rating, must not know how to play golf at all. These clubs are oversized to HELP the hacking swings most people have that even tour pro''s couldn''t fix. Yes, of course, you will lose some feel, but hey, why do you need feel when you are sticking it around the pin each and every time? The fact is, when you hit the sweet spot of these irons, there is no feel, it feels like you made a practice swing and just watch the ball soar to your target. I have only been playing golf since July''01. But since then, after starting off with TaylorMade 320''s, which are excellent clubs mind you, but a little TOO workable if you know what I mean, I switched to the ping i3 black dot, with regular flex steel shafts ( i like the high ones) everything standard. Let''s just say i have gone from shooting consistantly in the mid-high 80''s, to low-mid 70''s. If i could only hit a damn driver... Great irons, get some today. Customer Service no use, you''ll see what i mean Similar Products Used: TaylorMade 320 - steel shafts (s-90) |
