Ping i3 O/size Maroon Dot, +1/2", Orange Grip, JZ Stiff
Following advice, I got custom fitted for my new irons. It turned out that I'm a Maroon Dot (5 degrees upright) which I was never aware of, and the clubs I had been using were 1 degree flat. I cannot believe the difference these clubs have made to my game. They give great confidence with their look behind the ball. I have had no difficulty shaping my shots to suit requirements where as previously I could never draw the ball. They generate an incredible amount of spin on short irons which enables you to go right at the flag on good greens. I've been bordering on 79/80 for the last three years, but am now comfortably shooting mid-seventies. My greens in regulation stat has improved from 38% to 49% immediately and continues to improve. I would recommend these clubs and the ping fitting system to players of all handicaps. The good shots are definitely better and the bad ones are not so bad with the added forgiveness when you're not swinging at 100%. Customer Service V Good, had my clubs in about 10 days. Ping I3 white dot, JZ stiff, +1/4
I bought the Ping I3’s two seasons ago to replace the set of Tommy Armour 845’s I had been using since 1989. I figured that I was probably missing out on some good technology since the 845’s were designed back when drivers still had persimmon heads. My results with the Pings have been impressive. On mis-hits, fall-off and deviation are negligible, and the shot pattern is superior over the 845’s. On shots that are flushed, the I3’s hit the ball high and long with a rather flat trajectory. When matched with a Titleist Pro V1, the I3’s make the ball hold in the air for an extraordinary amount of time, landing the ball very softly. The feel of the I3’s is very solid, with the Cushin shaft inserts providing a good bit of damping to vibrations. The Pings make most shots feel solid at impact and have a very nice sound when hitting quality golf balls. I have always preferred to hit the ball straight, but allow my errors to be a very slight draw. Contrary to what other reviewers have said, workability with the Ping I3’s has not been bad. When needed, the I3’s can move the ball left or right with authority to get around obstacles. Another reason for switching to the Ping I3’s was the availability of multiple degree wedges. I went to a four-wedge system with L-60, S-56, U-52, and PW-48 degrees respectively. I have found the wedges very consistent with about 12 yards of distances in between each club on full swings. The width and bounce of sand wedge is perfect for the type of sand used on many Missouri golf courses. From the tee, the I3 2-iron is a very user friendly and accurate driving iron for short and narrow par 4’s. I would have to disagree with anyone who believes that the Ping I3 O Size (optimum size, not oversize) irons are only for high handicappers. As a recreational golfer who plays in several tournaments a year, there are days when I can use as much help as I can get. I currently carry a 2.4 index, and truly believe that the Pings help me score better when my swing is a little off. Customer Service Excellent. I had the irons on my door step within one week of placing the original order. When ordering an additional iron, all I had to provide was my serial number. Just thought I'd update my review. I've been playing with the Ping i3's for about a month now. My love of golf has been renewed. Shooting the best golf I've ever played. Shot my first hole in one with the 8 iron. Even became a member at a local course. These irons play high, long and true. Confidence is throught the roof. Best club out of the lot is the Sand Wedge. Just about no bounce on it. 90 yds and in, drop the ball on a pin head, and spin it. Just play it out of the bunkers like you're playing off the fairway. Beautiful. So impressed, I just ordered the Gap wedge. Best golf purchase I ever made (And I've bought alot of golf gadgets and equipment). I always heard that Ping players were Ping players for life. I now worship at the alter of Karsten. |

Just bought a used set of Ping i3 O-size (3-SW) off of Ebay. Love them! Very forgiving - even off-center shots go relatively straight. I've been using a set of Cobra Gravity Backs (which I've now passed on to my son) - the Pings win hands down with respect to accuracy, forgiveness, and feel. I bought the steel shafts, which make the clubs heavier, but also provide better feedback than the graphite shafts. Make sure you get fitted before buying Pings - you need to know exactly what you're buying in terms of lie, shaft length, and stiffness, especially if you're buying them used. Any golf pro or golf shop would be happy to fit you for Pings (or you can use their self-fitting process at www.pinggolf.com). Customer Service Not used (yet). I'm a high handicapper (26), been playing on and off for the last 10 years. I also own Callaway X-14 Graphites (I love them). My impression of these clubs are.... I hit them long, and high. Off center hits are much closer to the middle of the fairway than the X14's. If you're looking for feel, I would suggest the Pings over the X14's. With the X14s, off center hits feel the same as hitting out of the sweet spot (Butter), But the Pings definitely let you know in your hands when you missed it a bit. One of the nicest things about these clubs is watching the ball fly real high and true, eyeing the spot that its going to land on, then seeing it land 10-15 yards past that..... Smile... These clubs are as close as you can get to legally cheating. Customer Service Excellent. Fitting was quick and precise.... No more angled up irons.. GREAT IRONS.... I wouldn't replace them for anything else only to upgrade. I wish I had split my clubs, 7, 8, 9 & pw blades and 6, 5, 4 & 3 in o-size. |

In the beginning I was rather hesitant to spend so much on clubs, especially since I feel that I'm no terrific golfer. However, after purchasing these clubs I found how forgiving a club truly can be. I found that my shots went straighter and further. These clubs were definitely worth it and I would recommend them to anyone of any skill level. I will probably be purchasing a Callaway driver though, a little variety never hurt anyone. :) Customer Service I haven't had to use it yet. Similar Products Used: I was debating on the Callaway X-14 Steelheads but the Pings felt better. They also hit further than the Callaways when I tested them at a Pro shop. |

Ping I3 Oversize
I have bought the I3-O about 2 months ago, and have gone from shooting 90's to mid 80's. It's also a little longer than my previous club Ping Zing-2. Strongly recommend professional fitting. Generally, look good at addressing hence increase confident in the shot. These are very forgiving clubs without the loss in distance. However, these clubs are a little bit on the expensive side but worth while. Customer Service I was very happy with the service provided at the store. Similar Products Used: Ping Zing-2 |

Best clubs I have ever had. I believe the expert fitting by my club pro who recommended the green dot (2 degree up) and resulted in very accurate iron play. Got my first hole in one after 20 years. |
