I recently switched to Ping G2 and my iron game changed drastically. They are the easiest irons to hit bar none. I am putting all of my other irons on e-bay

Equipment will never, ever, lower your score like lessons and practice can.

I had played golf all my life, with the only real instruction being from my Dad. I did okay, like many hovering around 100-110 on a good day. In 2005 I decided to make a chage, and took some lessons. After the lessons started I knew I was ready to buy new clubs.

Bottom line, with these clubs and my lessons I am now a 13 handicap. Yes, that means I went from shooting in the 100s to now shooting in the low 80s!

They get the ball up quick so it can land softly. The HL models (3,4,5) are like hybrids, although I eventually went to TM hybrids for the 3 and 4.

I am about to move on to new clubs, but I will never forget the game improvement that occured with these in my hands. An excelent company and a great model.

Customer Service

Best of the best. The entire set is registered with Ping, and they are good at making you happy. Love it.

Model Reviewed: Ping G2 Irons with zz 65 Shafts

First off let me tell you that I am a club junky. Also, one of the reasons I have been threw so many irons here lately, is I did not get myself fitted. It is very important to get yourself fitted. I was playing standard length clubs. After being fitted I am 3 degrees up & a half inch to an inch above standard. I have played Ben Hogans, Callaways, Ping i3 blades, the new Ping i5's. The new Wilson Staff Ci6's here in that last couple of months. I noticed I shot my best rounds with the Ping i3 blades. They were 3 degrees up but were standard in lenght. They had the zz-65 steel stiff shaft in them. I was accurate but short. The Ping i5's had the CS lite stiff shafts in them. They were 1/2" above standard & 3 degrees up & fit me perfect but I hit the ball so high I was a club short. I am a taller player and kept thinking about the Ping i3's short but accurate, lower ball flight. Well, I found a set of Ping G2's with the zz-65 shafts in them +1" above standard on eBay. They are the best thing that ever happen to me! Out of all the irons I have played these are the best! They hit the ball lower than the CS lite stiff shafts. And that extra inch in the shaft gave me a larger arch on my swing! Now I am more accurate & longer than any set I have ever owned. They are great!! I normally hit a 7 iron 155 yds, But now the 8 iron is a perfect 155 yd club with these irons! I am one club longer than any set of irons I have ever owned & more accurate. I know for a fact it is a combination of the ZZ-65 Shafts & the extra 1" above standard. All I can say if you need a great set of irons get fitted & get the right shaft for your swing! I really believe this time I have found the right heads & shafts for my swing! Love Them!!!!!

Customer Service

Is great!! They are very friendly & answer all questions you have. Very helpfull!

A swing change left me unable to adapt to my old irons as they needed to be lenghtened and toed up. I decided I may as well buy some new irons. I went to the shop I usually buy from and the suggestion was to start hitting clubs that the owner would pass to me without looking at the brand. You name them, I tried them. I kept coming back to one club in particular. Once I had settled on what felt the best, I was pleasantly surpised to see they were Ping G2's. I ordered a set and have never looked back. Easy to hit, forgiving (including the G2 lob wedge) and mis-hits still have a chance.
If you're looking for new irons and like me, getting older, not as flexible and can't swing the club as fast as 20 years ago take a serious look at these.

Customer Service

Great!! No problem with the order, came as ordered and when I added the LW, I quoted the serial number and 10 days later it was delivered to me in Canada

OMG! These Ping G2s are GUNS! I've been playing a few years, and I used to shoot in the low 100s. With these G2s I am now in the low 90s and my iron play has been transformed. Born Again, Baby!! Before, I couldn't hit a 6 iron to save my life. I now have a rifle in my hands. My 8 iron shots are even better. Believe me, its these irons! I purchased a set of Ping G2 blue dots (after being fitted on Ping's "web fit" web site) and got a super deal on some stiff steel shafted (True Temper Stiff)irons in great condition.(No HLs in the set) I had also previously purchased a Ping G2 6 iron with the TFC 100 stiff graphite shaft to try out first. I would recommend the stiff steel shafts. I am more accurate with steel shafts, probably because I slow down a little bit more in the down stroke. By the way, these Ping G2s replaced a very competent set of Titleist 802 OSs, that were also very good irons. Goodbye Titleist, Hello Ping! (Again) I used to play the Ping Eye2 BeCus. Also very good irons...but worn, old technology. (cool, though) Ping has created a golf monster with these G2s. Straight, accurate shots, forgiving on miss-hits, easy to swing, off-set, and custom fitted...what else can I say? Buy 'em, and go right out there and break 90. I even put away my trusty Ping I3 8 and 9 woods! My 5/6 G2 irons are simply more accurate! I may even pick up the long 3/4 iron again! (NOT)

Customer Service

The ping web site is first rate, and you can get a pretty good fitting there before you buy used Ping equipment on E-Bay...which will save you HUNDREDS of dollars!! Do it!

Model Reviewed: Ping G2 5I - LW Irons

What can I say about these irons? They are simply the best sticks I have ever swung. Ultra forgiving, nice trajectory and you can still work the ball if desired. What else could you ask for in an iron?

I was a 8.4 handicap heading into this golf season. I switched to the G2 iron from my MP-33's and I began reaping the benefits immediately. I am now averaging 75.7 over my last 12 rounds and have had tremendous consistency out of my g2's. If I could just get my flatstick to work like these little babies, I would be knocking on the door of scratch golf.

G2's are very, very forgiving on the occasional mis-hit. They have nice trajectory (a little high, but that can be controlled by pushing your hands forward) and you can still work the ball with them even though they are a cavity back iron. I even gained almost 10 yards per iron on the switch.

I also absolutely love the wedges when hitting approach shots, but am not crazy about them around the green. Not fabulous feel, but usually pretty good results ( I still prefer Cleveland FF900 RTG Wedges ).

If your on the fence about these irons, just take the plunge and do it. Your golf game will thank you.

Customer Service

Model Reviewed: Ping G2 5-W / Ping G2 HL 3 & 4 irons

After trying everything (people,....I do mean EVERYTHING!) and being threatend by my wife to either devource me, or cause me physical pain, the most least likely choice I would have made has been the godsend to my golf bag. I went to my local golf store and asked Joe the owner (we're on a first name basis after thousands of visits) to let me try the Callaway Fusions. Took a six iron and I just could not get the shots on line. Plus, one of the many problems I've been having with Callaway X18's, Mizuno MP32's, MP33's, MP30's, and MP001 fairway woods, was that the Fusions were heavy in the backswing. Titliest 804's and 704's, heavy as well, and very one peice feeling. Kinda felt like I was swinging a lead pipe with absolutly no clue what the face of the club was doing in the backswing. Anyway, getting back on track, after getting tired (yes,...tired. I run 2.5 miles every moring, 110 crunches (Ab Scissor!), bench press and weight lift every day.) from swinging this club, I looked over at the ping display that joe's been having in the hitting cage. I picked up the G2 six iron out of curiousity. My first initial thought when looking at these was, "man this is an ugly club." Of course, after hitting and trying a lot of forged clubs, I realize now that it was an arrogant, over pompus thing to say. The next thing I noticed about this club was its weight. It was refreshingly lite. The club sent confidence straight though me after a few practice swings. Hit a few balls off the deck, and then it happend. There is a timing thing that happens when you know you've sent a ball hot off the face, from the minute you hear the pop off the face, to the minute you strike the plastic bullseye that hangs in the center of the hitting cage, and I struck it consistanly, in a row, and very solid. I didn't have to see the ball flight to know that I hit these things a ton, and after only 2 rounds, I'm giving them their due. They have been the star in these rounds and I'm strongly considering going all PING! I purchased the last set he had with cusion R shafts and the 3 and 4 iron are HL. The HL's is like having hybrids in your bag, and I've never, ever, ever been able to hit a 3 iron as good as I do this one. Distance, for me personally, I'm finally gauging my club distance the way I've always imagined I would. I would say like a lot of other people that I've gained 10 to 20 yards per club, but I was really never able to hit my irons as consistantly as I do these. They hit as far and consistant as my Cobra CXI's. 5 iron,..about 170 yards, sometimes farther. All I know is that I really look forward to my fairway shots, and par 3's have become a lot less intimidating. I'm also impressed in my confidence with these clubs, usually on a par 3 I would use a tee. The PING G2's hit better off the deck due to their wide sole. I've increased my GIR's by 30% so far, and it's only going to get better. PING, you've saved my marriage, and you've stopped those packages from comming to my house. Now I'm going on a selling spree on E-bay to get rid of all the hopefulls. PING all the way. These clubs are simply put,...THE BEST!

Customer Service

Excellent!! First class

Well Ping did it again. They realeased another great set of irons. I had some Callaway knock offs before these and I was lucky if I could break 95. After buying my Ping G2s from Edwin Watts I could tell a immediate difference. I was getting 10-15 more yards of carry, I had maximum workability, and I had a little confidence in my game. The look great as well. The rubber sole is one thing I never understood (they got rid of it on the G5s)but I guess it has no importance. Well if you want clubs that play and feel very comfortable go and get the G2s and with the G5s out they are on sale for a decent price.

Customer Service

Customer service on the G2s was great. We got them to fit great for me and they are well suited for my game.

These are definitely my second best set of clubs. I'll let you in on a little secret: PING has not been able to top the EYE 2 irons. Take a look at the amount of reviews left for the EYE 2. If you are a serious golfer, see if PING will sell you a set of new EYE 2 irons. Rumor has it, that they are still in high demand and are still being manufactured for around $700.00. Check Ebay or used sets in a golf store. As far as the G2's, I absolutely love them! Don't get me wrong, they are definitely super clubs, but I shoot straighter and with more confidence with the EYE 2 irons. With the i5's and the G5's selling right now, you can probably get a nice set of G2's for a decent price, and you'll really love them. It's just crazy that I spent $150.00 on a 20 year old set of EYE 2 irons and play better with them.

Customer Service

It's obvious that PING excels in customer service. That alone is worth it. You can tell that they genuinely care about their product.
