Ping Eye 2 Irons
I have been playing for over ten years and have switched from cheapos to name brands and my score hardly goes below the 90s. When I got the 3-SW Ping Eye 2 set from ebay 4 months ago, I can't believe I'm scoring in the lower 80s!

I am just getting back into golf and thought I would go online and figure out what the newest and greatest thing might be in club design. But apparently the best thing in golf is still the set of Ping Eye 2's my father bought me for my college graduation. I will look no furhter or waste my money. Thanks all for the reviews. |

Have read most of your Eye 2’s reviews. All are very consistent with my opinion. I am only glad to know that I am not the only golfer convinced that the Eye 2 is tops even +20 years later. I bought my set new about 22 years ago. Have tried other clubs deep cavity, forged, over size, super game improvers, you name it and I have tried them but the truth is that nothing is better than Eye 2’s, comparable maybe but better is a hard task to beat and undertake. True, the sound of these clubs are not the best. In exchange for their forgiveness and overall performance this is a minor price to pay. All balanced, the only down side is the lofts between some of the clubs. Some of the lofts of the irons may be some what out dated but still, acceptable distance and great trajectories. I will ask and maybe my pro shop can change the lofts. If they are able to do this (Golfsmth claims they can) I will end up with the ultimate golf irons from excellent that they as is.

I don't know the guy that posted just before me but his review is probaly the best written review I've seen.Since I've spent the last 15 years doing the same thing(bounceing from 1 set to another)I agree totally.I just bought a used set of Eye2's off ebay and quickly found out why you rarely hear a bad thing said about these irons. To be able to hit great shots with long irons again is incredible. My days of buddies asking me whats in my bag this month are over. |

OK, here goes. I've been playing golf for about 17+ years and have been reading the reviews here at golfreview.com for the last 7 or 8 years. Needless to say, I've read literally thousands of reviews and felt it was time to write one myself.
Customer Service I had my clubs changed from green dots to black, new grips and Rifle 4.5 shafts. Customer service has always been superb. Similar Products Used: Everything from Callaway to Hogan to Mizuno (and everything else in between) |

I'm a teen and these is like my third set of clubs.I've gotta say they're are the best clubs I have EVER swung. They've got great feel! I thought they'd be a piece of junk when i first got em but they shocked ne big time. If you ever get a chance to swing these clubs, DO IT, they're really nice. SO CLEAN! |

Eye 2 LOB WEDGE
I have only played the eye 2 lob wedge with my G2 and I3 O'sized iron sets. This is the only club, the eye 2 Lob wedge that will never leave my bag! I am looking for the eye 2 SW now on ebay! Customer Service When I took my clubs to Ping a couple of years ago, I had an opportunity to try the newest equipment while the gentleman also measured me for my lie angle. Before I left, he bent my clubs so that I did not need to return! Similar Products Used: Tommy Armour SW, but no other LW |

Ping Eye 2 and 2+
I am using a set of Ping Eye 2 and 2+, 20 years old, original shafts and original grips. I am just getting back into golf now that my son is golfing and I can't believe how great I am playing. I am hitting 80% of greens in regulation only because my driving is poor and I hit out of the rough a lot (was using a 20 year old driver until I upgraded this week) -- I suspect I'll be shooting 70's with better driving and scratch if I spend time on my putting.

Bought a well-kept set on Ebay and added the SW later on. Running your finger over them compared to conventional irons, the grooves are definitely sharper. The offset and lighter weight took a little getting used to as well as the bounce on the wedges, but I can see why these have stood the test of time. The scoring irons have a crisp preciseness to them and they do bite. They look great, but don't expect a forged feel. They are forgiving, but not like a huge cavity back or oversized iron. Great for any level and to learn on as the sweetspot isn't that huge despite being a cavity back. The weaker loft does take some psychological adjustment to, but worth it if you can get over it. Finally, while you can probably find something technically superior for the same price, iron technology really hasn't changed all that much and name another iron you can buy whose value has maintained (or even increased), like these. Customer Service Good about verifying serial numbers Similar Products Used: cleveland TA4s, Big Bertha 2002 (ridiculous), Tommy Armour EVO v31, and Mizuno MX-20. |
