I first played with Eye 2s in about 1994 when Karsten UK lent me a set while my then new set of Ping Zings were being re-shafted. I absolutely loved them. I then bought a set of the then current Ping Zing 2s in 1995 but always regretted not getting Eye 2s. I finally gave my Zing 2s to my brother in 2001 and bought one of the last new sets of Eye 2s available from Karsten UK. I still use them and still absolutely love them. I know the design is over twenty years old but they perform as well as anything else I’ve ever played. Absolutely fantastic clubs – it must break Ping’s heart to know they designed their best irons so long ago.

Customer Service

Great - I’ve had three sets of new Pings fitted at the Gainsborough [UK] factory and the service has always been great. They also looked after me when my Zings needed re-shafting under warranty

The 1 and 2 irons of this model are as good as those hybrid driving irons that are so common these days. I used a steel shafted 2iron eye two as my "safe" driving iron for several years before switching to an isi 2 iron which really did not perform any better. Also had a set of these ping eye two irons with stiff titanium shafts which were a bit of a bear to use. Ti shafts definitely have a feel and release all their own and I found it very difficult to hit partial shots, chips and pitches with these. I'm sure the STIFF flex combined with the lightweight feel attributed to this as I also have a ping zing sand wedge with a regular flex titanium shaft that I just love. Everyone I ever talk to who has played or still plays the eye two model has nothing but good things to say about them. It's almost like a cult! They are much cleaner looking than those ping irons of late that have all that fancy coloring in the cavity, yuck!

Customer Service

I'm sure it's prettey good

I've come back to play golf after a 7 year break and found it annoyingly difficult to be anywhere near sensible off the tee with a driver. I trawled around for my Ping Eye 2 copper headed 2-iron and it has helped. I remember when I bought this club new, Ping had a color coding fitting and measuring system, the black range suiting me. It obviously still does, so I have bought, from the web, a 1-iron to match. Onward and upward at a fraction of the original price!

As someone who was an avid golfer more than 10 years ago, and took a long break from the sport, I was looking for a good forgiving set of irons that I could pick up to get back in the game without breaking the bank. I found my set of used Ping Eye2 irons for $175 at the beginning of the golf season, and have been using them since about April.

It's now August, and I love these clubs. They are extraordinarily forgiving, and most solid contact will produce a good shot.

I doubt these made me a better golfer, but they did help build my confidence back up very quickly and I have enjoyed playing every round with these clubs.

I have been playing and playing around with irons for the last 5 years. Started out with some freebee "nomad" irons from my father in law. They got me started but once I hit his Callaway irons, I knew there was something better out there. Went to Cally Hawkeye, the hawkeye VFT - very forgiving, but hit the ball too high and looked like a shovel. Found a set of barely used G10 irons, Better than cally for me. Had them reshafted to Rifle 6.0, even better.

Since them, I have demoed almost every new iron. There was always something that I didnt like, look, feel, price, crappy shaft, etc...

One day on Ebay, found a set of Eye 2 + no + 3-SW black dot (the seller didnt know what he had), and bought them on a whim, reshafted with Rifle 6.0. Long story short - the search is over. These irons are what I have been searching for since I started. The right weight, right feel, right distance, forgiving as can be, but so easy to draw or fade. I have read many reviews of these, and still ask myself over and over, how can a 20 year old iron be this good? Karsten had it figured out, and that is all that matters. The G10s will soon be for sale...

Customer Service

Good, very informative and have all of the answers when you call them.

I have played Ping irons off and on for a number of years. Recently, i took a set of Ping Eye2, plus no plus i had in my basement and had them reshafted with Dynamic gold Golf shafts. 3-9 soft stepped S-300 shafts and the wedges R-300 shafts.
I should have done this years ago. For me, the difference in playing these has been enhanced dramatically. They have life to them and are just in the bag for good now.

I am currently 17 years old and have been playing golf for about 2 years. My first set of clubs were some old talyor made blades that my great uncle gave me. I used them for about 6 months when the junior organiser at my golf club (Pinner Hill, UK) suggested I swap them for some cavity irons. I aggred and I swaped them for a set of Ping Eye 2's (3-SW). From the moment first hit them I loved them.

The clubs are lovely and the steel shafts suit them perfectly. A bad shot is recoverable with these clubs as the hit really well out of the rough. The only club I have a problem with is the PW as I always seem to slice it. The clubs give you so much control and feel. I now can even get backspin out of the rough and even bunkers as the SW is amazing. However you might want to invest in a LW as the SW is not that lofted.

I now easly eat up the other kids with their new grafite irons. Great Clubs!

I purchased a set of eye 2+ back in 1990... I guess thats 29 years ago. As I recall took me some time to get used to these clubs. I had learned/ played with a set of Wilson blades. I remember after about three rounds I had these clubs pretty well tuned in.... to the point I've never had another set that has performed better.
I'm writing this because after walking of the course with a set of Mizuno Mx25's, that my wife got me for xmas. yes, I'm now trying to figure out how I can get those eye2's back in my bag without her noticing.
The eye 2's don't have the distance & maybe they don't work the ball quit like the new sets .... but these things are the most comfortable predictable clubs ever produced. How in a market where every year new technogy is guaranteed.... these 29 yr old clubs can still go head to head with any of the new one's and for many players win out.
Funny thing when I first purchased these clubs I remember paying almost $700... 29 years ago shelling out $700 for a set of golf clubs that looked at best, pure ugly was just crazy . Many of my freinds swore I wouldn't keep these things for more than a year. Well that year has stretched out to 29yrs and believe me, these ugly set of golf clubs, if I make it, will be with me for another 29. Best $700 I've ever spent.

Customer Service

Two things will update your set... reduce the loft couple degrees and change the shafts... If you have Ping do it it'll cost you around $350... go to a club builder spend half that amount.

I have played the eye 2s for nearly 10 years and have allways loved them. My favorite clubs in the bag are my three and four irons which i absolutley destroy (I rarely even have to hit driver). I tried to hit the i3 blades for a time but found them dead feeling and could work the ball just as easily with the eye 2s. Tommorrow im buying the copper edition. What other club will hold its value and has that sort of playability? i intend on hitting them the rest of my life.

I've bought this set of irons for 1,500 THB (around 45 USD), what a good investment !

I can even hit the 3 iron, effortlessly! All irons give me straight and lonnng shot.

I replaced my Srixon I-601 (which is newer but more harder to hit) with those lovely Eye2s ^_^
