Ping Eye 2 Irons

Wildly Popular since their mid 80's inception, the Ping Eye2 Irons are the original, and still one of the best cast, perimeter weighted cavity back irons on the market.

The Eye2s work best for me. I've tried several models at the pro shop (Apex+, Taylor Made 320s, X-14, etc.) but the Eye2s still worked the best. They may a bit muted in their feedback, not as 'buttery soft' as forged clubs, but the ball goes long and straight which is more important to me. If I hit the ball well, my hands don't really feel anything, but my ego feels really good when I see the ball land on the green.
Been using the Eye2s for about 20 rounds and just played my best round ever, 79.
I'll still be trying other clubs, but unless a great deal comes along, I'll be playing the Eye2s for quite a long time.

I used to play these irons all the time, but I recently purchased the Callaway X-14 Pros and I really love them. I used to feel the love for the Pings, but after having to send the Pros into be adjusted, I really dislike these. They feel heavy and dull. Don't get me wrong, these are great irons, and I think for high-handicappers this is a fabulous club to start with. But I think that the way my game has been going (and all the new changes with my swing) that some other clubs are better suited to mid-low handicappers. The difference between some of the newer irons and these is night and day.

Just got these a week ago. Orange dot bent to blue dot. -2 to +1. I love them. They go so straight it is scary. Still working on the distances, getting closer to having them dialed in. Not as workable as some other clubs because they just want to go dead straight. Not a problem. Stay in the fairway off the tee and life will be good. I like them better than the Callaway X14 pros and X14's I had been playing previously. I can't wait to feel confident with the distances. It will come.

Makes me secretly want the I3's. Could they be that much better than the Eye2+'s? That would be tough to accomplish.

These are great irons. They are forgiving and you can get it on the faiway on almost every shot. I am 12 and my handicap is a 26. If i can hit em' you can!

They have sat in my garage for 10 years or so. I played them occasionally. While looking for new clubs I decided to take out the junk shafts and put in some dynamics. I added a midsize grip and as they say, the rest is history. My draw instantly returned as did my distance. easiest club to work for me.Great feedback club, for me the right shaft and grips are everything needed to properly evaluate a club.

After 10 years of serious play and range work , I'm now consistently in low to mid 80s with a 10 index. For the heck of it, put my old Eye 2s with Rifles in the bag a couple weeks ago and posted my first sub 80 round -- effortlessly. My GIR increased easily by 4 holes (roled into 2 fairway bunkers that normally would have pitched out of -- but took 2 extra clubs and put both on in 2. It was scary how straight the shots were.) There is something about the look of these irons that instills confidence. Even my 1 iron flys straight!
And if you're wondering about wedges, take a look at all the S and L wedges in the pro bags regardless of the brands they're contracted to play (Love, Mickelson, etc.) If you can find them, buy them...you'll like your new scores.
