i got this set of clubs for a birthday last year and i am only 15 and when i first started to use them they work very good but as time went on i was changing my swing with my instructer and noticed they are very stiff and dont sound very good when hitting the ball, i hit the higher clubs, 7-pw very very well but the lower clubs, 2-6 tend to not have good hits and they are heavy also, but altogether they are nice clubs regardless of how i play with them.

I have read some of the reviews and know that we don't all play at the same level. I went to my local Golf club maker and by using a computor golf swing analizer these clubs (Ping Eye 2 w/Graphite Shafts)showed the best numbers. I then went and hit a bucket of balls and had better ball control than I've ever had with previous sets. I also found these clubs hit 10-15yds further than my previous set.I've played with Tommy Armour 845's, Titleist, Tom Wishon, and others. Offset clubs are my friend! Before you buy a set of clubs, have your swing analized, hitting different clubs and then try the set that fits you best at a driving range before buying. Not all clubs hit the same! It's not always the clubs, it's that the clubs aren't matched to your swing

Ping eye 2 irons are not very good. I am only 14 and just bought them for 500$, waste of money. I have recently switched to all of Titleist products-bag,ball,shoes,shirts,everything. They are not forgiving and do not sound right. Whenever I break out my long irons and hit em they have a cracking sound to them. I have regripped them 3 times, no help. Heres a little bit of advice, there a waste, go for titleist.

The Ping Eye was the model just before the "Eye2" came out and was a VERY good iron, there's just not much differece bewteen the two models. EASY to get the ball up and very forgiving given it's none shovel size.

i recently purchased a set of these that had been redone by ping and were in excellent shape. the stiff shafts are pretty stiff. these irons are awesome. the wedges especially. i havent had as much confidence with a set of irons ever. i really love the 7 thru lw. i use a lot of quick strikes to handle longer distances so i havent used the longer irons much but they are easy to hit cleanly. nice weight, wide sole easy to hit. spin is awesome. i have tremendous ability to hit right at the flag and the ball will stop very quickly. low running chips are predictable.

Been using them for about six years ,and have tried quite a few differnet sets , nothing has surpassed them , in any way. I've changed the shafts once a year and they still feel the same as new (apart from the sand iron which retired with very worn grooves ). If proof of how good they are is needed when I started playing them I was lucky to break a 100, five years later I was off scratch (and breaking par about 8 out of 10 rounds) , then a year ago I hurt my back came back playing in the low 80's and after just a few months i'm down to a handicap of 4 . Cannot praise these clubs highly enough and prbably shouldn't try , you need to hit these to know how good they are . Anyway I'm off to buy another set just in case ...........

Customer Service

Another aspect I can't praise enough , for an international customer it's very easy to complain , I can't .

The Ping Eye 2 irons are the first irons I've used. They have a soft feel, and they are very forgiving. I havent been playing golf for a long time, but I've tried many clubs, from callaway, taylor made, to the newer ping models. I still love the Ping Eye 2's better than all of them. I'm only 16 years old, and I'll proly play them until I'm 50.

I love the feel of a forged club, but won't give up the forgiveness of my eye 2's. Even at less than a two handicap, I realize the benefit of forgiveness. I hit too many shots off center, so I can't imagine the higher handicap golfer playing a less forgiving club. I'm 31, and I'm sure I'll be playing eye 2's when I'm 51. I've adjusted the lofts, and I play rifle shafts about an inch longer than standard. I can hit the three iron off the tee 220 to 240 and straight consitently. Couldn't do that with many other clubs, if any. In golf, it's all about personal preference, confidence, and mental attitude. Why not play a club you can trust. At first, I didn't like the look, offset, etc. Once I saw the results, and the scores, I fell in love with the look.

I've had about 6 sets of these in the last 20 years. I keep changing to chase a better score, but I keep coming back. My most recent excursion was with Callaway X16 - great club but the finish won't last - unlike the pings which appear to last forever. Am now back with Ping Eye 2+ and promising never to stray again. My latest set have the JZ shaft with some signs of aging and rust. I am going to re shaft with rifle or DGS, and then off to Ping in Lincolnshire for the free lie service.

Customer Service

Used several times over the years. Excellent service but somewhat slow in the UK.

I have tried most irons out there and always come back to these. Without a doubt the best irons ever made. New Eye 2 design with stronger lofts, better weighting and the square grooves. They put tremendous amounts of spin on the ball and are becoming harder to find. They are simply the one of the best cavity back iron ever made. I will keep them for long time.
