I bought these after a quick demo on the practice ground and wish i hadn't They may have been revoluitonary in there day but now there just averge cavity backs with a harsh feel and only moderate forgiveness. they have bags of off set which makes it hard to line them up and i just cant get comftable with them. One posative note the wedges are great they work fine. in conclusion a averge set which comands a premium price because of the manufacturer

Customer Service

Let me start by saying I have been a BIG time club junkie. I have owned and played almost everything out there as far as irons go... many times I gave up on a good thing to try a newer set, on and on. The worst part of being a club junkie is that U never really dial in a set before moving on to the next great thing... Well, recently, after developing some swing problems, I decided to go back to what I remembered being the easiest (and most enjoyable)irons that I have ever hit. I was lucky to get a nice set of the hard to find plus no + model, which is really worth holding out for (the new Eye 2 design with stronger lofts, better weighting and more bounce... AND with the square grooves) More expensive and worth every penny! There just is not an iron head out there that inspires such confidence at address. Accurate, REALLY accurate. Workable, if the club is set up for you properly. Plenty long, especially with the new stronger lofts. The best short iron spin in the game, still. (they outlawed them, didn't they?) LOTS of pros still play the short irons and wedges and don't get paid for doing so! Love III, Mayfair, Calc, etc... If you need to get back to the basics and get to enjoying the game again, get a set of Eye2 irons and go out there and hit 'em great.

Ping customer service is, along with Callaway, the best in golf.

After reading reviews on this site I decided to make an investment in some good quality clubs. I have been playing the same Powerbilt Grand Slam irons since I started. The clubs were ok but I felt they didnt quite fit me right. One of the things that drew me to Ping was the great fitting options they have. So I did the "Webfit" on Ping's website and figured out what color code I was. It took a little hunting but I finally found a good set on Ebay for around $200 US. I bought them and the day they arrived I took them out and played with them. Shot the best round all year at an 81. I had trouble adjusting to the offset and I was pulling shots all day. I have played the best golf of my life this year and I have to think that these clubs gave me the confidence I needed. The thing I like best about these clubs is the forgiveness. When I hit a shot off the toe I can tell because the feedback is somewhat muted but still there, the ball still goes exactly where it would have off the sweetspot. Fat shots and thin shot still almost make it to the target but usually are on line about 10-15 yards short. I find the 9 iron and PW a little strong lofted for my taste. I am thinking about having my 9 iron and PW sent to Ping and weakened. I hit the 8 iron 150 yds and the 9 iron about 140 and the PW about 135. My SW only goes about 110 so I have a gap in my yardage because of the strong wedge. Great product. So good in fact that I bought a Ping Driver, Ping putter and am looking for some Ping fairway woods to complete the set. Highly Recommend.

After all the testing and buying, I still come back to these irons. They are as solid as it gets. The forgivness factor is equal to most of the best clubs out there. Pings seem to wear well. Must be the finish. I can't find anything that's more forgiving, lets me work the ball, and feels as good,(rifles)as my pings

Customer Service

Easy to get info from ping. The customer service people really know the products.

Just purchase this set. First time in the course with them (straight to the course, no driving range). The easiest long iron I have ever hit. Iron 3 goes around 160+. Iron 9 and W still give me problem (always dove) but the others are just wonderful. I love them and the looks during address, just give me the confidence I need. Oh yess, I bought the Copper club, better looking. Recomended for weekend warrior like me. I would expect my score to drop by few strokes after a few rounds.

Bought 3-LW Ping Eye 2's red dot on Ebay for a great deal!!!! I had tried out my friends on the range and launched a 5 iron close to 200 and real high. I decided to purchase a set, first round all shots were high and same distance as my old irons (WIlson Deep Red). One thing you will notice is how high and how much spin your club gets on the ball. I birdied a 615 par 5 with them: Driver, 3 iron, 7 iron (3 on)! WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE GOOD JOB PING. Lie angle has helped me get into a moe comfortable stance at set up.

You could swing these left handed and still get a half-solid hit. I changed over from my ghetto hand-me-downs and immediately became a golfer. These irons not only have the ability to stay on target after a bailed-out, seizured swing, they also have the power to turn someones head into a canoe with only a minor application of power. In english, they not only keep the ball straight, they added yards to my embarrassingly weak swing. so if you dont have the power that you used to and your game is looking more and more like the 1st time you played . . . QUIT!!! But, if you are a half decent player and want another edge . . . get some lessons!!! if you need the security of talked up irons and are simple enough to be placebo'd into buying a set, the ping eye 2's are for you.

Not only in US Eye 2's are a mith. I started playing long tima ago with Mizuno blades: what a feeling a what a hard game! I then switched to Eye 2's, cut off some strokes and still love them. They are top performer for any handicap and swing and fit also long hitters as I am.

Customer Service

Since I needed to have their grooves modified because of R&A, I sent them to Ping in UK and everything went OK for free!

Wow, these are great sticks. I needed to move to a game improvement type club and got a chance to swing the pings. First shot at the range was perrrrfect. So was the second. Then I hit ALL the irons. I've played a few time sice then and have seen several stroke come off. Get these if you can. And then hang onto them.

I ordered my Ping's from our local Country Club in March of 1986. I played with them for maybe three years and decided there were better clubs on the market. I have played ever club known to man but I was just excited to hit these again. I gave them to my father who has played with them for the last 14 years. He no longer plays and I asked to use them again. I put new grips on and the way we went to the driving range. I hit the first one left the second one right and have not miss another one since. I swear I heard those clubs say "Daddy's Home". Played three rounds since 80,81,80. If you ever get these clubs never sell them because after 17 years there is still nothing better, period!!!!!!!
