Nike Slingshot Irons

DESCRIPTION

Nike Slingshot Individual Iron with Graphite Shaft The Nike Slingshot Individual Iron with Graphite Shaft delivers forgiveness. Forgiveness begins in irone with weight management. Moving weight deeper and lower results in a larger sweet spot and a deeper center of gravity that actually exists in air behind the face. The benefit is a mixed set of hybrids and irons that are more forgiving and launch the ball higher. There are 30 grams of Nike PowerBow weighted low and back with a deeper sole that

The Nike Slingshots are amazing clubs. The wide base makes these clubs extremely easy to hit. Good contact with these clubs are expected, although the shots do depend on the golfer himself. Interestingly enough, the cavity back of the Slingshots makes a small whistle during your backswing. This is a cool feature to me. Finally, I have the steel shafts, but steel will most of the time take off about 10 yards on every shot, but cause your shots to be straighter on average. Graphite on the other hand, it goes farther, but is not as accurate on average. Anyways, these clubs are great for any type of golfer, an 18 handicap to a scratch. The only downside to these clubs is the cost. I would only suggest buying these clubs if you are serious about improving your game or if you're just straight up rich. GREAT BUY!!!

I've had a set of Nike Slingshot Irons, stiff graphite shafts, for 5 months now.I previously played the Taylormade Rac LT's and loved those irons. These Nikes don't have that classic look and thin topline that I normally prefer. In fact they're rather large and clunky looking. But despite all of that I have to tell you that these are terrific irons.I don't know about all these complaints about lack of feel. I'm not a great worker of the ball.I play a natural draw and stick with it. What I do know is that these irons are long and land soft.Solid hits sound great and your misses are good misses. I previously hit my irons 150 yards for a seven iron and ten yards up or down for each iron.I hit the slingshots about 155 to 160 with the 7 and 180 with the 5.I personally haven't noticed a difference in the height of my shots.Maybe someone who struggles getting it up in the air will see a difference.Look, if you're a magician who can shape his shots then you'll have to try them to see if they have that capability. But if you just are like me and want to hit solid golf shots then these irons are fantastic.

I purchased the clubs about 2 months ago and they are phenomenal. They are of a steel shaft with regular flex. I've hit shots with these that i did not think were possible for me despite my inconsistent and steep swing plane. When I made good swings with these, the ball did go far, straight and landed straight down and softly (just like a lot of the fellas reviewing the nikes have reported).Unlike several of the reviews, I like all of the irons, with the exception of my pitching and gap wedges. The wedges are a little inconsistent and they give me very little feel. The 4 thru 8 irons however totally rock. I've never hit so many greens in regulation on a consitent basis , with that very high and penetrating trajectory that these clubs are known for. One great shot I did hit was a 170 yard 5 iron that landed 4 feet from the cup, that I tapped in for birdie. That shot was one that I normally could not have made as easily as I did with the slingshots. The trajectory of the shot was what really amazed me. However, the real deal maker involved a 160 yard par 3 into the wind. I hit (and aimed) the ball slightly to the right of the pin and the ball just rocketed high and straight. Then it drew left and nose-dived into the cup for a hole-in-one! I would definitely and emphatically reccommend these wonderful irons to any player as they are easy to hit and make me look a little better than I am. Try to get the 2 thru 9 irons and get your wedges with some other manufacturer.

I was very skeptical when I first saw these clubs. Nike doesn't exactly have the best reputation with their equipment. I had been playing Cleveland TA3 Gunmetal Irons and was looking for something that would help me on my bad days. The Slingshot Irons are sick!! EVERYTHING goes straight. They are easy to swing, line up well, and make a great sound when you swing them. These clubs are long too - at least 5-10 yards longer than the TA3 irons for some reason. In particular, the long irons are incredibly easy to hit. I have dropped my 5 wood and 22-degree rescue for the stock 3 and 4 irons. On bad driving days I have been able to hit the 3-iron 240 and dead straight.

These clubs are excellent!! I purchased these clubs on kind of a whim, disregarding my better judgement and just bought them based on reviews and never hit a demo once. When I got them I was shocked. They showed up 1 day before a turney and well again aginst my better judgement I decited to play them. What I found is that they were easy to hit. Ball goes high and long, I have had some trouble in the past getting the right tragectory, but these take care of that, I havent hit a flat shot yet. All in all they are amazing easy to hit nice ball flight, stop and drop landings and best of all they shoot extreemly straight. The best club for me so far. I am glad however for my swing speed that i decited on the graphite stiff I think that the regular would be too flimsy.

Hi...i am 16 and just updated to Nike Slingshot irons from Knight irons i've had since i was 11. I'm not a great golfer but i have noticed incredible improvements in my game since i switched. I find that when i "blade" and shot, it usualy still is right on line and not skimin' across the ground at 90mph. The feel of the irons are awesome and i would tell anyone who is thinking abuout buying these irons to go for it, i've droped 10 strokes easy.

Try these clubs for yourself, you will likely be pleasantly surprised. I was as much of a Nike skeptic as anyone, but demoed the clubs on the basis of positive reviews and was extremely impressed with their forgiveness and solid feel. I've now owned the Slingshots (steel, regluar flex) for 3 months and could not be happier with them. Straight, long, high trajectory, easy to hit and super forgiving. Quality of the clubs is excellent. I've shot my lowest rounds of the year since acquiring the Slingshots largely due to improved iron play. They set up well, and do not have the 'shovel' look of some other so-called game improvement clubs. If you are looking for an additional dose of forgiveness from your irons, and want to see more shots heading at or near your target, look no further. There is a reason that Golf Digest awarded the Slingshots 'iron of the year' distinction - they work. It's that simple.

These are startling clubs. My previous sets were Tommy Armour 845s, followed by TaylorMade Firesoles, to help you understand any comparisons. A reasonably well-hit ball off these irons does something no golf ball ever had done for me. First, it sizzles; I've never heard that sound off any iron I've hit. And second, it soars. A well-hit 6 iron will travel almost 160 yards laterally and seven eight to nine stories vertically. Needless to add, it stops dead on the green, as if dropped straight down—which is nearly true. Their face inspires confidence at set-up, and what appears a slight added bounce helps me early in the season, and now and then later, when I catch the ball fat. Thin shots still tend to rocket off the face and travel almost as far as a well-hit one. They certainly aren't for people who want to work the ball or those who often play in the wind. They are hard to hit low. At the same time, the flight seems so penetrating that even the windy course player might favor these clubs, too. Thrilled with them. They make the game more fun, the best compliment I can pay any piece of equipment.

Model Reviewed: Nike Sling Shots

At first I was a Huge Skeptic about these Nike Sling Shots. I would Have never given them a chance if it wasn't for a guy at work that bought a set. He is a left handed player and I am a right handed player. He is not what I call a good golfer. I would call him a good athlete. He has a horrible swing but some how he is able to connect the club head on the ball. Well anyways I tried his clubs. Remember I said he is left handed and I am right handed. I hit them left handed (i can swing lefty just not as good right handed) and I hit his pitching wedge about 110 yards with great trajectory and straight as an arrow. I first thought it was a fluke but after 30 shots in a row of hitting this club left handed i needed to find a driving range that sold these clubs so i could demo them out. I went to a local Driving range and hit the nike sling shot stiff shaft regular lie and length. I had the Golf pro Watch me hit these shots and he told me that I was hitting this club at least 265 in the air with the 3 iron. I was still skeptic because I couldn't pace it off at the driving range but yet again the golf pro didn't care if i bought them or not so maybe he was telling the truth. Note I don't have the greatest of vision when it comes to distances. Well after about two weeks of the thought (it was litterlly keeping me awake at nite) of hitting my 3 iron about 25-30 yards further than my ping eye 2 plus 3 iron. I had order a pair of these sling shots. I ordered them custom (i would recomend that everyone get fitted for clubs, my motto is alter the club not the swing) I got them 2 degrees upright 1"longer Stiff shafts. Of course with my luck they screwed up my order and they came in 2 Degrees upright 1"longer regular flex shaft. The shop I bought them from made good on them though but kicker is my father tried the clubs that where mis made and bought the clubs because he hit them so well. I never seen my father hit the ball so well with these Nike SLing Shots. My father is legally Blind in one Eye and isn't a young man and is hitting a 5 iron higher, longer and straigher than his Ping Zing clubs. I never seen my father so happy. It was totally worth the screw up. Especially when i will receive my clubs in a few days with the correct specs. Even with the wrong shafts I am still amazed on how well these clubs hit. I really love the weight of the clubs. You can really feel the club head weight in your swing. I haven't notice any problems with damage to the club like someone mentioned on this review page. I hope that isn't the case because That would be really disappointing if these clubs started to fall apart. My friend the Left has had his clubs for 2 months and 8 rounds of golf and he takes REALLY Deep Heavy divots and Really doesn't take care of his clubs he just throws them around in the back of his pick up truck. But the Clubs look like they are still brand new. I take excellent care of my clubs. I have had my ping eye 2 plus clubs for over 14 years and won 7 first place and 13 2nd place victorys with them. It will be sad to hang them up. In a way I wish I never hit the nike sling shot clubs because There really wasn't anything wrong with my Pings but I am also not one of those guys that is against technology like some people are. If there are better clubs out there to buy then one shall get them or be left behind. Also I do want to mention I use to play all the time (was once a 2.6 handicap not anymore though) but I had a horrible injury to my back and was out of golf for a few years. I am just getting back (no pun intended) into playing again and these nike's really help me out.
