I have been learning to play with a set of knock-off irons for the past 8 months. They were awful, but I took lessons and did my best. After 8 months of practice I thought it was time for a new set of irons. I tried a few sets and liked the nike slingshot irons. The difference with my swing and confidence is night and day. I hit high straight shots time after time. I think my swing was coming around and the timing of the new clubs couldn't have been better. It's been 3 weeks and I go through a large bucket with very few misses. I can't wait to take them to the course. If your looking for a new set of irons, I would highly reccomend that you try the nike slingshot irons. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: nike cpr iron/woods |

This is a followup to previous posting, now that I've played several rounds with this new set of irons. These irons took a bit of getting used to for me. The thick topline, the wide soles (different feel on bounce), the offset, the seemingly softer shaft, etc. Initially, had trouble making good contact (mostly due to upright setting). Long irons seemed to go longer, but the wedge and shorter irons seemed to lose some distance. And for a while, everything was going left of where I was aiming. After some adjustment, finally have the distances dialed in, and am not shooting left anymore. My golf buddies said they've never seen me hit long irons as good as I do now. So, at minimum, these clubs have helped fix some of my inability to hit long irons. The wedges are better too... better able to dial in the right distance. Still not 100% used to these clubs yet, but it's getting there. If you played a set of irons before with much lower bounce, no offsets, be prepared for a getting used to period. After that, you'll be happy with your purchase. Customer Service See previous - custom fit, great service. Similar Products Used: Just about everything out there for the high handicapper. |

I actually didn't plan on buying these irons when I started shopping for new irons. I'm a hack, so normally, I just go to the store, pick out what feels good and/or looks good, try it at the range, and then go with off the shelf. This time, did a full club fit at Galaxy. Tried the TA6 and new Cleveland Launchers - the two sets I'd been eyeing. Also tried Pings, since they are easier to get in the right setup. Turns out, I'm 2 degrees upright! Very different than what I've been playing the last 2 years (off shelf std Wilson Deep Reds). The pro recommended I try these - and the numbers clearly showed that these were for me. The right backspin, much less side spin - don't know why, better distance on the computer per swing speed. I'd have lost too much distance due to spin of the ball with the TA6 and Launchers! Galaxy had these done within 24 hours to 2 degrees upright. Haven't played a round yet, but I like them so much now that I wanted to get this review out there. ANY CLUB can be fit to your swing... but if you get the right club with the right fitting for your swing, it can make a difference!! So, my recommendation is, for me, Slingshots are it. For you, go get fit! These might work for you too... and you may like something else, but these or other clubs may wind up giving you 10-12 extra yards just because of how the ball comes off the face for your swing. And you don't need to be a Scratch player to get fit... like I said, I'm a hack, and even for me, there was a CLEAR difference in ball performance benefit with these vs. the ones I'd almost bought. Customer Service Excellent - the Galaxy Pro that fitted me is a super cool guy... even gave me some free lesson tips. Great set of irons for beginners and golfers with mid-handycap. I am a newbie in golf who is trying to learn the game and I must say that I wasn't very happy with these clubs at first because I couldn't feel the difference between good shots and bad shots; however, after a week of practice and get to know this set, I noticed that if I hit the ball right at the sweet spot, the ball goes straighter and farther than my Spalding Pro Impact beginner set; and more importantly, I get immediate feedback through the feel whether I hit the ball correctly or not. Strongly recommend!! Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Spalding Pro Impact, Cleveland TA-5 |

the slingshot irons are by far the easiest irons to hit. i've been playing with the big berthas and the slingshots are more forgiving and provide a better shot trajectory. even on miss-hits, the ball does veer off as much. if anybody are looking for game-improvement irons, the slingshots are definitely the ones you should be playing with. i now shoot in the 80s thanks to them. a little pricey, but well worth it. I was intent on getting the MIzuno mx-15 for about 500.00...but then I tried these, and figured they were worth the extra 200.00. I have played with them twice, so far and I definitly need to get used to them. The 5-PW are so easy to hit, and the sound they make is actually cool. The long irons will take a little longer to get used to. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Mizuno MX-15's and MX-23's |

I bought these 3 weeks ago, and waited until I played them a few times to post a review. I have now played with them 6 times and they are impressive. It took a few rounds to get use to them. I was normaly a low 90s player but my last 3 outings I've shot an 87, 85 and yesterday my all time best an 81. Damn I tripled bogied 17 I had 3 shots to get out of 2 sand traps on a hole I normaly par or bogey. If I had avoided the sand and had a par I would've shot a 79. The fact that I'm regretting a possible breaking 80 says much for these Irons. I've always hit my irons fairly high when I hit the slingshots dead on I now hit towering shots. I was torn between these and the Ping g2s, everyone told me to buy the Pings but these just felt better hitting them in the net. I think I made the right choice. Also I admit the facts I had these custom fitted 1/2 longer and +2 degrees upright helps too. Plus doing so I was able to order 4-sw instead of 3-pw Customer Service Not bad the custom fit order was promised in 7 days and took 10. I purdhased a set of the Nike Slingshot Clones, yes, CLONES from Diamond Tour golf, they are the Tour+ Equalizer model. Put DG R300 steel in them, 1/2" long. SUPER irons!! Very easy to hit, lofts cranked up, at least one full club longer than the Top Flite forged blades I was playing (don't laugh, super blades!). Blades are sweet, but the consistent straight and long thing is something I can get behind... Extremely accurate, and soft landing. Trajectory is fine, just the most enjoyable irons I have ever played. Probably need a gap wedge, and I will be getting the 2 iron as well. Drove a few times with the 3 iron, went out there 230-240, which for me is outstanding. Don't let the snooty bozo types tell U that quality clones are no good!! The money I saved went into an Adams Redline 400cc driver, Grafalloy Blue Pro Launch, best I have ever hit, AND a new teddy for my girlfriend, Bruno. Life is sweet! Also, try the Precept Lady Diamond balls... at $19.99/doz, Sweeeeet! See ya! Very forgiving, accurate iron -- Mid to High Handicappers can really benefit from the extreme forgiveness. The irons do promote a higher than average ball flight that could be challenging in the wind, but in most conditions these are laser accurate. Regardless of your opinion of Nike with its past products, these are worth serious consideration. Customer Service Never Used Similar Products Used: Callaway 2002 BB and TaylorMade RAC OS |
