These are the best irons ever. I just love these so much that I dread the day I have to get new ones when these get older and outdated. It took me a long time to get used to the bulky head on these but once I did it was like a swith going off in my head. I used to carry a 5 iron maybe 170 and now I can cary it 190 and if i hit the fairway I can roll it out to 215 no problems. I love the sound they make when you hit it well and they fly high so they land soft on the greens. The ball just loves to go straight even on side hill lies, I have learned that quickly trying to compensate for the slope and the darn ball just goes straight as an arrow. If you hit the ball and it is not going straight at your target check your set up and make sure you are lined up correctly. Similar Products Used: Adams Tight Lies GT.... |

This review is an update, for those of you who have contacted me regarding my previous review. My last review on the Nike Slingshots, I stated that I didn't like the Nike short irons. Well since that review, I have gone to all Nike Slingshots including the short irons and got rid of my Pings. These slingshots are so much easier to hit and forgiving. I now carry the 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, PW, AW, SW of the Slingshots and another 64* that is a Tom Wishon bent 60* wedge, all are in steel. Similar Products Used: Ping i3s, Vokey wedges, Titleist 990's. |

I went to a demo to look for a set of irons that would help me do better and let me tell you these are not it. I could not get the ball in the air if my life depended on it. These don't work for me, but maybe they will for you. Customer Service They tried to help at the demo, but nothing worked. I was in Ireland and rented a set of these at Ballybunion. Good thing-I don't know what Nike was thinking when they made these clubs. At address the clubhead looks closed. There is no feel after striking the ball. There a good 10-20 yards shorter then my set. I'm glad I only rented them. Customer Service Wondeful Similar Products Used: Titleist 670, Hogan Apex |

I just wanted to write to let those of you thinking about the Nike Slingshot irons of my experience with them. I've been a low 90's golfer for the past few years, but never been able to break into much lower than 90. I just got a new job recently as a restaurant manager, and all the other managers all golf together one day a week, and of course they have really nice sets. So it was time to ditch my $200 Kmart set from 8 years ago and upgrade. I bought a Nike Ignite 460 driver, and matching fairway woods, and I'd spent a lot of time looking for irons and found very highly favorable reviews of the Slingshot clubs. I went so far as to go to a local Nike expo and was suggested I fitted the regular length, stiff steel clubs. I just wanted to let you know I shaved about 15 strokes off my last game with these new Slingshots. I shot a 76 yesterday (Par 72). These clubs can do no wrong. For the first game of my life, I didn't miss-hit a single ball. Every shot was long and straight and in the direction of where I wanted it. I still have some dialing in to do (every shot was slightly left of where I wanted it) but I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. I also would suggest purchasing the Approach Wedge and the Sand Wedge as well, to finish out your set. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these Nike Slingshot irons to anyone that wants to shoot better. And if you don't buy them, just know I'm loving mine... and you could be loving them too... Ryan Customer Service None needed. Similar Products Used: None similar, these are a cut above the rest... |

This is simply a great set of clubs. Every shot is as easy to hit as a wood, but is more accurate than any iron I have hit. The accuracy is just supurb. Don't plan on working the ball with these irons though. They are meant for pure forgiveness. There is a slight whistle sound when taking practice swings from the cavity. Some might find it irritating, but think it sounds pretty cool. If you are looking for forgiving irons, these are for you. I payed $499 which I think is an excelent deal. Had never used these clubs before. Went on a cruise in Feb. 2005. Used the clubs provided by the ships pro. Nike SlingShots. Very forgiving. Nice feel. Liked them enough to purchase a set within a month of returning home. |

I've been playin golf now for about 5 months and for a beginner i couldnt of asked for a better set of clubs. i tried a few different sets but no doubt the slingshots won hands down. They took a bit if gettin used to but soon as i did "WOW", i dropped my handicap from a 30 to a 22/21 in a very short period of time. Although my handy cap is high i can hit the ball a county mile with these and straight ( 3iron = 215yrds). You can also obtain decent spin with the shorter irons, plus every club is very forgiving and makes a awesome sound THWACK!!! My mate plays off 11 and he loves um too! Highley recommended for high to mid handicappers, if you can get um for around the £350 mark their bl@@dy good value. (buy um) |

I have been playing with Titleist DCI's for years and recently decided that a new set of Irons was needed. I played 4 rounds of golf this winter in Mexico and Florida and tried Nike Slingshot, PingG2, Titleist 704 and Mizuno's via demos. By far the easiest and most accurate club was the Nike Slingshot. I am a 9 handicap and generally hit a fairly high ball already. I found that the Nike provided no higher a trajectory than my DCI's. I did find that they were about 1/2 a club longer which was not surprising since Nike lofts are 2 degrees stronger in most clubs. The club design was hard to get used to, but once I blocked that out it was fun to hit. Subsequently, I just purchased a set of the Slingshots in a uniflex shaft and 2 degree flat setup. I've only hit them at the driving range so far but they seem to work great. One thing that I don't understand from other comments I've read is the difficulty to move the ball and shotmaking with these clubs. I have had no problem moving the ball in either direction. Maybe it is my swing, but I still produce a slight draw with these clubs(granted not as much movement as the DCI's)and can fade them on command. Maybe it's a freak thing because I'm a lefty? I'm looking forward to this upcoming season and seeing if I can trim a couple of strokes off my handicap with the Slingshots. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Titelist DCI Black. Also tried Mizuno and Ping G2 on the course. I hit Big Bertha and X-18's plus Cleveland TA-2 and TA-7's at the golf shop too. Nike Slingshot was far and away the best club that I tested. |
