Nike Slingshot Irons

DESCRIPTION

Nike Slingshot Individual Iron with Graphite Shaft The Nike Slingshot Individual Iron with Graphite Shaft delivers forgiveness. Forgiveness begins in irone with weight management. Moving weight deeper and lower results in a larger sweet spot and a deeper center of gravity that actually exists in air behind the face. The benefit is a mixed set of hybrids and irons that are more forgiving and launch the ball higher. There are 30 grams of Nike PowerBow weighted low and back with a deeper sole that

I have used these clubs for the past 16 mths and up until a few weeks ago i loved them.I was taking an approach shot and the head snapped off the PW.I did not mind too much as it was just one of those things but when it happened to my 7 iron yesterday ,enough is enough.I paid 700 euro for them and thought i would have them a good while. They looked like the shaft has rusted at the head. They are kept indoors at all times.

Customer Service

When i brought the first club back to the shop they reshafted the club with a non-slingshot shaft. It will be interesting to see what happens when i bring back the other one.

First I will admit that i am a hscker and secondly that I love these clubs. I really like the feel of the ball of these clubs and the ability to get it up in the air is amazing. I have gained 10 yards in distance per club. On my second round with them i hit a nice easy 8 iron and put it in the cup for a hole in one. It was 136 to the front of the green and 145 to the cup. I really like the attack wedge, I am hitting it further than I was able to hit my pitching wedge with my old set. I also really like the 4 iron, I had diffuculty with the 4 iron in my old set so hardly ever hit it but this one is long and realitivly straight. the slight slice I still get is me and that will be fixed this spring with some lessons. My golf buddy is a 12 handicap and he has hit them and he put the ball in the same area only 4 yards longer, he is now looking at buying a set.

I'm a hacker, usually shooting in the high 90's and low 100's. I had been playing with an old set of Cobra clones, and I thought I would finally move up to a set of name-brand clubs. I bought these clubs last spring after all the media hype and some pressure from the salesman. I was ultimately very dissapointed with these clubs. They took a good 10 yards off my game, and I found them difficult to line up. I normally hit my 7 iron about 140 yards, and I found myself hitting the Nike 7 iron about 130. Also, there was no feedback from the club. I could barely feel the club hit the ball on impact. The short irons were especially disappointing. They had a very clunky feel to them. As a result, I was shanking them like crazy, and my short game is usually one of my strengths! To be fair, the 5 and 6 irons were great! The ball flew off the face like nothing I've ever hit before. After a spring and summer of frustration, I traded them in for a set of Cobra 3400 I/XH's. I'm very happy with the Cobra's. They are forgiving, easy to line up, and I've got my distance back.

It makes me laugh reading the comments from high handicapers decribing these clubs . I am a plus 1 handicapper using nike slingshots.I have had these clubs just over 2 years and I haven't noticed some of the comments made by high handicapers so my advice is it aint nothing to do with the club its the person swinging it. A lot of people worry to much about the clubs and forget to hit the ball just put it down and give it a wack.

Got these clubs a little over a month ago. Custom fit 4 iron though gap wedge. I have to say that these clubs have made the game more fun for me. Before I was struggling around 54-55 per nine holes. I was having problems making consistant contact and getting the ball airborn and somewhat straight.

With these clubs the ball gets up in the air very well with an average swing. Sometimes the ball still stays on target even when I feel I should have missed by a mile. I have shot my lowest round of 45 per nine holes. And finally broke 100. Shot a 97. Also I had a stretch of nine holes with 4 pars, 3 in a row to finish the day. These clubs are a large part of that. They instill confidence in me and allow me to swing a much more relaxed but powerful swing. I am hoping to one day break 90 but to do that my driving and putting need some work!

Great clubs, have dropped my score 6-7 strokes. I hope to keep improving!

Customer Service

Great so far, no complaints.

At first I thought I had found the holy grail. Actually, this is a very strange set of clubs. I hit some of them quite well and others-not so well. I absolutely love the 5 and 6 irons, the 7 and 8 are ok but the 9 and pw are just plain weird. I have a swing speed of about 104 and play with the stiff shafts and the 9 and pw actually fly the same distance. In fact, my 52 degree titleist wedge will go just as far as the pw. I really cannot explain it. My friends have hit them as well because I thought maybe it was just me, but they had the same results. So I don't know if I got a bad set or what. Anyway, next year I'm going back to titleists.

The nike slingshots are a great set of clubs, although sometimes the aren't the best. With the pitch wedge, it is easy to blade the ball over the green. But the other clubs have great accuracy and fly forever. With the hollow inside they have a great feel when it hits the ball.

I used to plod about hitting 110-107 never improving untill a mate brought a set and i had a go.
I now regulary break 90, 84 been the lowest i have got.
They are very forgiving.
I LOVE THEM. infact i brought a Nike Squasach driver which is also the nuts.

This is my followup review, after two years with the Slingshots and, more important, a dozen lessons and some heavy range time.

They were excellent when I started, and needed them. I loved the height on the irons and the solid sound on mis-hits--the overall forgiveness.

But now that I am closer to my old game (80-86), the shorter irons--7-9--are disastrously wrong. The 7 loses 15 yards in the air because it goes impossibly high. (I never used the pitching wedge, for a related reason.) Knockdowns are difficult to impossible, and if you stray into the woods and try to punch out, it's hard to avoid having the ball balloon into the branches and leave you having to hack out again.

As an unusual compromise, I may keep the 5 iron and mix into my new set of Pro Combos, but it's with the hope that my continuing progress eliminates it completely, perhaps in a matter of days.

Also worth putting in here a vote for good lessons. If you are going to spend three figures just on a driver, spend it on lessons. Every day I look at the range of people who will never improve with their multitude of flaws, especially set up and grip. All they are doing is making their bad habits more permanent, and making their chances of improvement worse by the day. Then there's your turn (or more likely a reverse pivot, which I still fight, not always well) and your first move down. . . Get lessons, then get better clubs, but if you're scoring high and/or not playing often, and if getting the ball airborne is an issue, start with these.
