Nike Slingshot Irons

DESCRIPTION

Nike Slingshot Individual Iron with Graphite Shaft The Nike Slingshot Individual Iron with Graphite Shaft delivers forgiveness. Forgiveness begins in irone with weight management. Moving weight deeper and lower results in a larger sweet spot and a deeper center of gravity that actually exists in air behind the face. The benefit is a mixed set of hybrids and irons that are more forgiving and launch the ball higher. There are 30 grams of Nike PowerBow weighted low and back with a deeper sole that

I've used these irons for the past couple of years. I agree that these irons are extremely forgiving. They serve the purpose of making it easier for higher handicappers to have fun playing golf. This was definitely the case for me. I do think, however, that once you get to a certain point in your game, you will desire more feel from your irons. I just purchased a new set of Macgregor M675 for the exact reason. When you strike the ball with the Slingshots, yes it gets up nicely and you can somewhat shape your shots. However, the feel is very lacking. Often I have no idea where on the face I made contact. I'm not sure how it compares to other cavity backs because these are the only ones I've played with before...but compared to the new M675s I am getting, the difference in feel is like night and day. Perhaps it's just the forged feel I like, but hitting a nice shot with the M675s is so much more satisfying. I'm not quite sure how a scratch golfer could get enjoyment playing with Slingshots, but to each his (or her) own.

Although this review may sound like I am bashing the irons, this is absolutely not the case. I have gotten tons of enjoyment out of these clubs and very highly recommend them for anyone having a hard time just getting the ball up in the air and even for lower handicappers who would sacrifice feel for forgiveness. All I am saying is that for me, the time has come for me to move onto my next set of irons. Still, I rate them very highly for people who need them.

This is my second season with my sling shot irons. I have dropped 7 full strokes off my handicap and still going down. I play the ball much higher and hold greens much better I ever thought possible. When playing with score irons 8 to pitching wedge I consistently hit one hoop and stop shots. The reviews I read prior to owning only listed one down fall to these irons and that was no shot shape capability. Well being a high handicapper (17) shaping should be the least of my worries, but I can hit gradual under control draws and fades at will. This has never been the case before.
I love these irons and now I love the game of golf.

Outstanding product!! Anyone who says they lose distance with these clubs are are either not in there right mind or are just getting older and can't hit it as far as they use to. I have added atleast one club with these slingshots. Where I use to hit a 9 iron I now hit a PW. These clubs are fantanstic!

I bought these irons when I found some money and I couldn't be happier. I demolish the ball (I hit a 5 iron from 220 to set up my first eagle) and I can work the ball well and hit it high or low quite easily with these irons. I'll be sticking with Nike in the future.

I have been using these irons for about 3 weeks and I really enjoy the way that they hit. They are very smooth in approach shots and get the ball in the air very quickly, if you are a high handicap player wanting to improve your game I would really recomend these irons.

Just got back from the range hitting off grass. Bought the clubs a few range trips ago and I thought I should post some thoughts:
1) Very forgiving on mis-hits
2) High, soft lauch affected by wind
3) Fairly significant loss of distance

I can see where some people would love these- mis-hits went relatively straight and reasonably long. However the ball flight is very affected by the wind. Also, I brought along my old clubs to compare distance. I hit a pure 6-iron using my old clubs 180. I hit a couple pure 6-irons with the Slingshots and only got around 160.

Even with the lack of distance, I could see my scores going down due to less blow-up shots. But since I can't hit a wood to save my life, I don't know how I'll do with the loss of distance.

Got 'em as they were discontinued for $399 so value rating will reflect this.

These are some of the best all around irons I have come across in a long time. Not only am I shooting straighter, but getting an additional 10-15 yards per club. Once you get over a little heavier head, your confidence really grows, especially in approach shots

I have had Slingshots since 2004 and would rate them overall above average. I dont know any 15 handicapper or below who has NOT lost a few yards though in distance- you will hit the ball higher though & the ball spins nice coming off these short irons. These are good clubs and fair priced. You can work the ball with a draw or fade with them also

I have had these clubs for 9 months now and they are the best clubs i have ever had. I would recommend anyone to buy them. Buy them from onlinegolf.co.uk because there is a quick delivery and they are very cheap. only £250 for 3-pw.
