I have only had these irons for a short while 3 rounds and I think they are great. People saying they are losing distance not sure why, I have stayed the same and am a lot more accureate with this puppies. The first round was a little tricky because it's basically three sets of irons in on all three hit different. but I think they are a great cross between forgiveness and accuracy which i think i will hand on to these irons for a long time. You need to get covers for them so they don't ding as much. |

I have been playing golf for almost a year and get out about twice a week. I have increasingly dropped my scores and now play to a handicap of 14. I would normally shoot in the high 80's with my old wal mart irons. I decided that i was ready for a set of good irons. I went to the local Nevada Bob's and tried every combo set they had, hogan's, rac tour proven's, tommy armours, etc. I did not expect to even look at the Nike's but they sold me on their solid feel and more forgiveness than the Taylor Mades (my second choice.) I went out twice this weekend and played from the back at a descent length (6500) course. I shot an 81, including a 9 on the 17th a par 5 (Extreme Wayward Tee Shot) These irons have so far made my game better. They are soo accurate its insane, distance is same as old irons (8 iron-155) but my 3 and 4 irons have improved from a 200 yard 3 iron to a 220 yard 3 irons. i love them. These irons are sweet, feel good, hit long, shafts...i havent had a problem yet but im new to golf....everything is good...BUY THESE CLUBS!!! o ya and great price...1-200 cheaper than others in same categorie;) Customer Service Not Used Yet Similar Products Used: Taylor Made RAC tour proven, tommy armour combo irons, Ben Hogan combo's |

Bought the Nike Pro Combo Irons after I had been golfing for about 8 years (bought them when I was 17). Love the traditional look and feel of the blades but with the modern advantages. However, thought that the X-Stiff Speedstep was absolute junk. It was the worst pile of crap I had ever hit. Not consistent and way too light. Plus with a 105 mph 5 iron speed the shaft flexed way too early leaving the club head to far ahead or behing making for inconsistency. Recently sold to get a custom set of I3's built with Royal Precison Project X 7.0 shafts and the new Winn V-17 AVS grip. Customer Service Don't know....? I think these irons are perfection. These clubs come stock with the Nike SpeedStep steel shaft. This shaft is actually a TrueTemper TX-90 (low kick, ultralight) which is designed for average to high handicap players. (**The shaft is the reason for the bad reviews you see **). I changed the shaft to a Rifle Flighted 6.0 Steel shaft and adjusted the lie angle +1.5* up and the performance of the clubs is unmatched. I will put these up against any club on the market and it beats them all. I think Nike has a real winner... all you need to do is put the right shaft in..... Customer Service Great customer service...they answer all your questions honestly Similar Products Used: Titleist, KZG, Mizuno |

I have used these irons for almost a year now. Bottom line -- they are great but they are not for high handicappers. Ignore everyone that says you loose distance. First off irons aren't designed for distance they are designed for accuracy and these irons are accurate. I stuff the ball close to the pin with the 8-PW. Longer than that I just go for the green. Distance control is great. Good 10-12 Yd distance gaps between each iron. This means that from 190 yds and in, I have a club that can get me close. The forged feel is great. The forged irons also have the advantage of easily customized lofts and lie angles. Your local pro shop can easily bend these irons to suit you. If you find you distance gaps are not exactly what you want get them adjusted. |

I got these clubs in February and wanted to play a few rounds with them before I reviewed them. At the end of last year I had a 12 handicap. I have played 6 rounds with these irons and have shot in the 70"'s five time and 82 the other time. These clubs have a soft feel, launch the ball high and go were you aim them. I am about 1/2 club short as far as distance goes. I have checked and I believe this is because of the loft of these irons compared to my old Titleist 981SL. If you want the feel of forged and the forgiveness of game improvement clubs this may be a set you want to try. The accuracy of these iron are the best I have had with any set in my over 40 years of playing golf. To me these are solid irons that can offer great results, like all irons. Minimal offset, thin topline, sweet feel of nothingness on sweet spot hits, good forgiveness and feedback on mis-hits... Long off the tee, easy to hit from the fairway, and easy to play all the "shots" with: punch, knockdowns, fades and draws. I know that some won't hit them because it says Nike on it or some won't like the stock shaft, but since you can order either Rifle or DG at no upcharge, why not take a chance, you will be surprised. I have mine with DG X100 and I love them, might get rid of them next year, if and only if something better and easier to hit comes along. Customer Service Decent, nothing bad or good to say Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA3, Titleist 762 and 990, Tour Edge V-Blade (luv these also). |

I feel these are the best irons out there right now. I tried many diff irons before purchasing mostly blades. And a few of the other forged irons with cavity back. In the end it came down to these or the mp30 and i ended up buyin the nikes for the fact that they are so much more forgivin in the long irons and i still have the ability to score with the short and mid irons(PW,9,8,7)> If you are in the market for a new set of irons take a lok at these beauties and give thema shot cause you may find just like me that they are as good as they can be. Only problem with them is that they do dent up easily but you cant expect that not to happen if your buying a forged iron:).. Customer Service had to send one of my clubs in to get fixed and got it back very quickly brand new. Similar Products Used: mizuno mp30,nike blade, cleveland ta3 |

These irons are very nice. They take a little getting use to, but once you feel comfortable w/them they'll be your favorite clubs ever. I was looking to improve my ability to work the ball, so I went from my o-size Ping I3's to the Nikes. I like how they are more of a blade style iron. The short irons have great feel, and are easy to work the ball with. I was a little disappointed at the fact that my distance stayed the same, but my accuracy improved by at least 65%. These are irons for a player with a fairly-grooved swing. I recommend these irons for the player who wants irons they can rely on, and for a player that at least shoots in the low 80's. Customer Service Don Sherwood had to order my custom irons from Nike. They said it would take at least six days, but Nike had them to me in four! I needed the clubs for the golf team, and Nike delivered. Both Don Sherwwod and Nike are great to do business through. Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA-7 pro, Ping I3+ |

Definitely a club someone should demo on the course before buying. But unlike Willow the Wisp's excellent but thumbs-down review of these clubs, I like them. I could do without the punch-dots and art deco design on the back of the clubs, but at address the mid and short irons look like classics. The wide soles on the long irons take getting used to. The stock grips are some of the best out there: great in humid/wet conditions, and I can still feel the grips in sub 60 degree temps. The clubs are certainly on the light side with the Speed Step steel shafts. When my tempo gets too quick, I lose track of the clubhead during the swing. For strong players with a quick tempo I'd recommend custom shafts with heavier swingweights (haven't tried the rifle shaft equipped version). Feel at impact is very good for full shots and shots around the green. Maybe not quite as solid as some Titleist DCI's I've played or the Mizuno MP-30s, but good shots feel crisp, and I know where I've missed on off-center shots. Forgiveness is excellent on thin hits. Shots toward the heel or toe are punished more than other cavity backs but not to the extent of traditional blades. Despite the deeper cavities in the long irons, forgiveness is the same as the shorter clubs. Distance and accuracy are consistent with good swings. Ball flight is a little higher than my previous set of clubs, but I have no problem knocking the ball down when I have to. When I’m playing well, I hit the ball relatively straight, but friends who can work the ball better than I can have said working them right/left is fairly easy in the mid and long irons. Like other reviewers, my own distances with these irons compared with other irons is kind of in the middle, maybe toward the short side, but just a little. But unlike other quality clubs I've played with, there is no hot-spot in these clubs that'll leave you with those 20-yard come-backer chips. Good for consistent swingers of the club who like a lot of feedback from their clubs. Bad for the “I normally hit my 7 iron 180 yards” crowd. Inconsistent ball-strikers should probably stay away. Strong/quick swingers might want to explore different shaft options other than Speed Step. (Ratings based on clubs suit me; would probably rate overall 4.5 if site permitted) Customer Service Not Used Similar Products Used: Ben Hogan Apex Edge Pro Taylor Made 320 Titleist DCI 962/990 |
