I am 15 years old, i have been playing for about four years now. These irons are great, i love the feel, but needs a stiff shaft.I made varsity with these irons. They are long, gained about ten yards on every iron. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made 200 irons, Callaway X-14's, and Mizuno MP-30's |

I stopped playing golf for over a year(due to job promotion). My wife bought the Nike Pro Combo set for me for Christmas 2002. One of my resolutions was to play golf again in 2003. After 6 months, 25 sporadic rounds, and a number of trips to the range, I am trading these in. I am not totally unhappy with the irons, they are just not forgiving enough for me. I am just starting to shoot in the 80's consistently again, but it has nothing to do with the irons. I have to hit the sweet spot everytime to approach the same distance as I did with the Ping Eye 2's I used to play with. If I hit it just a little off-center, I lose distance and accuracy. I can't honestly blame the irons totally, I just think the level of golf I play is not up to the level that I can enjoy these clubs. Nike promotes these clubs as forgiving, but they are not targeting the mid - high handicappers such as myself. That said, I believe if you are a single digit handicapper and/or a player that can consistently hit the ball at the sweetspot, give these a try and demo them. The feel you get on a solid shot is smooth and you get true feedback on mis-hits. I am actually keeping my Nike 56 deg forged wedge, as I use this club from 60 yards in, around the greens, and from the sand traps. Very solid feel, you can develop excellent touch, and it has helped put me in position to realistically save par. I have had plenty of practice to use this wedge - I have missed so many greens with my approaches using the Pro Combos. Customer Service Never used Similar Products Used: Ping Eye 2 |

i am 15 years old and i have used alot of clubs. i think that these clubs would be best for a golfer that shoots in the high 70's to high 80's the only reason is the blades. they are real easy to hit but i can see where a golfer shooting in the 90's to 100's would have some troubbles hitting them. but i would really reccomend these clubs. before i got the nikes i was hitting my 8 iron 150 now i hit it about 160, and with every there is about a 5-15 yard gain in these clubs. i am able to work shots around the green witht the forgiveness that it should have and the long irons are the easiest things to hit, its like your not even hitting the ball its so smooth. later |

The Pro Combo are definitely the best irons I have ever played. I can`t understand the length discussion about the Pro Combos. I would recommend these guys to invest their money rather in golf lessons, than in new clubs. I used to play the Callaway X-12 Tour series irons before. Compared to the X-12, I hit the short irons as far as before. The mid irons are about 15 yards longer and the long irons about 20-25 yards longer. But the most amazing thing is, that my shots are a lot more straighter than before. My congratulation to Nike for building the best irons available on the market. |

I got the Nike Pro Combos about a half a year ago, and from the first round I loved them. Great feel and accuracy with every club, and they improved my score a lot. Before I got the clubs, I was hitting high 90s to low 100s. Now I usually shoot in the low 90s to high 80s. These clubs seemed to be too good to be true... That's because they were. The clubs have a huge defect that I haven't seen in any other club. The one weak point to the clubs is the shaft. Nike decided to make the shafts extra light so it gives more of the club's weight to the head, which in turn gives the club more feel. It also makes it easier to snap the shaft. I broke two shafts, on two clubs in one week. The first shaft I broke in two rounds. The first I had a hard recovery shot with a tree just left of the ball, and a fence just right of the ball. I decided to punch it out with my 3 iron (the club i snapped) at a very slow speed, and it hit a tree. The club was fine for the rest of the round, but the next round I played, i hit a mis-hit, and my 3 iron was broken. After it broke I decided to call a golf store, and they said that Nike would replace my shaft for free, but it would take 3 weeks. The next club I broke was yesterday, August 9, at a Rustic Canyons tournament. It was a recovery shot out of soft dirt and it just snapped. So that is my review of the Nike Pro Combos. If you want a club that has great feel, but breaks easily, buy these. |

I previously played with Pig Eye 2 irons. With the Pings I had approx. 15 yds between clubs. PW = 100 yds, 6I = 160 yds, and 3I = 205 yds. With the Pro Combos It is more like PW =110 yds, 6I = 165 yds, and 3I = 210 yds. So, for me the spacings between irons is not quite as consistent, and I don't have a 100yd club any more. Maybe the distance spacings will become more consistent once I play many rounds. (i have only played 2 rounds plus a couple of buckets at the driving range). Right now I don't see much distance difference between the 8I and 7I. (8I = 145 yds, 7I = 150 yds) These clubs are definitely not as forgiving as the Pings. These will force you to swing better. If I "Chicken wing" my right arm at all, I get a bad slice with big distance loss. I kinda like that because it makes me concentrate on my swing and control my backswing. When struck properly (which isn't that hard if you've ever had proper swing training) these clubs feel great and I get good distance with a slight draw on the long irons, perfectly straight on the short irons. yes i have read these reviews as well as n e 1 else, people are saying they lost distance and the ball hooks. well obviously if u don't know the proper swing, u will hook the ball and slice it.these clubs do look so sweet and when u hit the ball correct (unlike some),the ball will go so straight and u will not even feel the ball strike the club. I am 16 and can hit the 3 iron 215 yards. There is no way u lose distance with these clubs. They are deffinately worth trying out for the money. Good luck with these clubs, i hope they work out for u liek they did for me and the other happy customers :) |

I recently purchased a set of Pro Combos. Usually you have to think that these clubs are usually purchased by descent golfers. I got my custom fit clubs in and I got some S flex Speed Shaft that I read up on and they are for high handicappers. What is that? I have never hit a bigger hook in my life. I could have been in Iraq on a ship hitting duck hook missles out of the Persian Golf. The clubs feel great but when I looked up to follow my shot all I could see is the tree limbs falling about 40 yds in front of me. That's rediculous to put that type of shaft in a club. It must have been made for 12 year old girls or something. I am geeting new shafts put in them and sending these back to the Tiger Woods junior camp so they can use them. Customer Service I believe you guys over there at Nike need to get the shafts in the correct players hands without just putting in what you are trying to promote. This has cost me a lot of money in tournaments and time. |

I've read a bunch of these reviews and I figured I'd give my 5 cents worth. First off, I didn't lose any distance with these clubs. Granted my old clubs were around 15 years old. I hit my 9-iron 150 yards so I felt I didn't need any more distance. I didn't gain distance, but I do hit these clubs a lot straighter. I can believe people who had newer clubs may have lost some distance, but that wasn't the case for me. These are the best looking clubs I saw out there and I just love the feel when I hit them. I really like the thin top-line of these clubs. On the 2 and 3-irons you can see the base bulge out from behind the club, but it was easy to get use to for me. Another thing is the weight; I have the Nike shafts in them, which does decrease the weight considerably. I didn't have a problem with this and now I kind of like the lighter feel. I'm not going to say go out and but these clubs, but they do work for me. So give them a try and decide for yourself. Customer Service Haven't used. Similar Products Used: NA |

Cannot quite fathom how people have lost distance using these irons. I have had these only three weeks and absolutely love them. I'm interested to get to the range asap to see if distance is an issue for the transitional clubs from cavity back to blade. Living in Colorado, I have noticed the ball travelling further because of the altitude but to me, I don't believe it goes THAT much further. Played the meadows here which is 6,999 and don't presently own a wood so it was 3 iron all the way. Managed to shoot a 78 (par72) and my putting sucked I thought. Never felt more confident standing over a ball with these things. Was going to purchase the Mizune Mp30's but these were hiding in a local pro shop second hand. Took them on the range for half an hour and happily handed over my credit card. Those of you thinking about changing your clubs or have tried the mizuno's - bear these in mind as I am over the moon...Just wanted to mention the shot distance didn't seem present for me...maybe lucky as my swings bad LOL!
