These Clubs are GREAT!!! I used to play Callaway X16 Pro irons, but I'm getting older(58), these babies beat up on the Callaways. I was a little afraid , because of the appearance, but really glad I switched. They do hit the ball very high, so I had the loft changed 2 degrees on the 8-PW. Didn't tell my buddy & he is amazed I can hit a PW 145 yards. Well worth the hefty price tag!

WOW, I am a 7 handicap golfer and have just of late been battling with my Mizuno MP 60's. They look great and look the part for a low handicap golfer, however just over a week ago I had my golf bag stolen and my insurance paid out. I decided to drop the ego of going for blades/semi-blades and the salesman at the proshop recommended the MX900. He said he himself had just bought himself a set and was extrmely happy. (he plays off a +2) I was a little skeptical but took them and played my first round on Saturday. On the 2nd hole a par 4 of 380 meters, I had to hit 172 meters to a pin tucked away in the right hand corner carrying water most of the way. I stuck a 6 iron!!!! to 1 foot. On the par 5 ninth, after a good drive I had 208 meters and with a light breeze behind me and carried a 4 iron pin high not 6 feet from the hole. (Yes, a 4 iron 230 yards) Unfortunately I missed the eagle putt. On the 17th (209 meter par 3) I hit an unbelievable 3 iron to 10 foot, and on the par 4 18th, I hit another 6 iron to 10 foot from 170 meters, this time I did make the putt. I finished with a 79 after some very average putting but I had over 10 birdie attempts. Incredible given I had just bought the clubs not 2 days ago. They are simply the best irons I have ever had and I simply can't wait to play again. Forget the mid to high handicap tag, these clubs can be used for anyone and WILL improve your confidence and game considerably.

To get straight to the point – I really like my new MX900’s. I’m always a little suspicious of the reviews that start out “I’ve played three great rounds with…”. So let me say I’ve had mine since April. I started shopping last year and tried Ping, Taylormade and Mizuno (at the time the MX 23) a lot. I was playing Titlists DCI’s that were getting pretty old. On the computer and on the range, the Mizuno’s felt more solid that the other clubs and were just as long. This spring when I finally settled on the MX900’s I was hitting them especially high. I worked with the club fitter to get a little lower flight with the Dynalite shaft and a lie adjustment. Let me say here that getting the proper fit is a real plus. With all the options Mizuno offers, there is no reason to take off the shelf clubs or Ebay seconds. It’s a trade off between lower price and loser scores – which is harder to come by.

So, in May I was hitting them high and by June I was hitting them left. I’ve been practicing, taking lessons and my play is only now down to a reasonable consistency. This is normal for my level of play, an 11 handicap. Every year I go through this. Now I’m hitting the clubs 10 yards longer and MUCH straighter than my old clubs. The long irons are especially long and straight. I bought a 5-PW set, using hybrids for the other irons. The five iron is almost a hybrid anyway. My old irons had graphite shafts while my new 900’s have steel. I think the feel is better and the shock to my hands is just the same. Graphite might be best for the slowest swingers (I’m 94 with the driver) but I’m hitting these so straight that I’m back to steel for good. Usually by the end of the year I can shoot several rounds in the high seventies. I’m on the verge of that in late July and I’ve had stretches lately that indicate the low seventies soon (short game willing). I’m very impressed with all of the new technology. If you are playing with 5 year old clubs you are costing yourself several strokes a round – get some new clubs, fitted clubs. And especially check out these MX900’s. They are solid, straight, long and have the tech to hold up for many years.

Model Reviewed: Mizuno MX900 irons

I ran down to my local Golfsmith about a week ago looking for a new set of irons, after having played with a set of Ping G2's for the past two years. Before the Ping's, I had a set of graphite shafted Hogan Apex Edge's, that I liked, but had a hard time hitting consistently. I was told repeatedly that I would like the feel of the Hogan's because they were forged, but that you had to hit them on the sweetspot in order to realize maximum accuracy and length. That was very true, which is why I initially bought the Ping's.

The G2's were an adaquate replacement for the Hogan's, however, the price for the more forgiving nature of these clubs, was a lack of "feel", and what I perceived to be less distance.

So, I began a quest for a forged feel, longer distance, and forgiveness, since my handicap had been lessening slightly, and felt that "game improvement" irons could be the ticket.

After reading some reviews, and being influenced by, I admit, some advertising hype and a few reviews, I tried a set of Callaway X18's with regular graphite shafts.

They, for my game, were a disaster. Not because they are poorly made, I just made a poor choice with them for my game. The graphite shafts were way too "whippy", and the pronounced offset caused me to pull the ball constantly.

After researching more intensely, I decided on the Mizuno MX900's. Only two rounds in so far, an 80 and an 83...but: Yes, these reviews that you have read here are unfailingly accurate. Straight. Long. Feel. It's all there.

These clubs are the perfect amalgam of forged forgiveness, distance and accuracy, without any discernable drawbacks. Some can profess about a lack of "workability", however, I'll take straight great feeling long over bending the ball everyday.

These clubs inspire confidence not only because you have a tendency to hit them well consistently, but they set up fantastically at address, instilling a veritable pro mind-set before you pull the trigger. It is truly a difficult accomplishment to badly hit these gems.

And, they're just flat-out drop dead beautiful looking.

If a playing partner shows up with these, make sure you ask for an extra three per side.

I had been playing with an old hand-me-down set of irons a friend gave me. i've been playing for about a year and a half now and decided it was time for an upgrade. i went to a local golf shop and the salesman showed me these irons. i hit everything in the store, but kept coming back to these. i have played 3 rounds with them so far and all i can say is wow, i love these things! my first round was around were i have been playing lately-a 102. i knew this wouldn't last thought. the difference was, instead of mis-hitting my irons i was sending them way over the green. The next two rounds i preceeded to shoot an 88 and an 86. once i figured out that i'm hitting a 9iron where i used to hit a 7iron it's been all good!

Customer Service

I went to a local shop to have the irons custom fit. j.t. and the guys at precision golf are awesome!

Well...I never thought I would either be in a position to do this nor like a product enough to write a review...boy, was I wrong!! After WEEKS of agonizing and hitting iron after iron it, I decided on the MX-900's and I could not be happier. Not only has my distance increased, but more importantly my accuracy has improved dramatically. I actually hit what was previously an "un-hittable" green for me with a 184 yard 4-iron, 12 inches from the hole.

I had narrowed my selection to: TM Rac CBD, Cleveland CG4, Calloway Fusion and the Mizuno MX-900's. I hit them all again and again...in the end, it was an easy choice and I could not be happier.

The feel very soft on shots where I hit the "screws" and feel very forgiving on the mis-hits. I would recommend these clubs to any mid-hight handicapper...simply great clubs!!

Customer Service

Only experience was a free hat from the local Mizuno sales person...but that was cool and he did not have to do it.

Have had MP-33s for a while and was looking for something more forgiving. A couple of friends of mine who are very low handicappers were playing them when I decided to try them. I was ready to let go of the macho blade ego. I am a big Mizuno fan and believer, and these clubs did not let me down. I have tried the 32's and MP-60's, both of which are very nice but the MX-900s are o-so sweet and do deliver the promised best of both worlds of a forged club with forgiveness. They are truly un-believable. I have tried Taylor Made and Calloway, nice products, but nothing compares to Mizuno and nothing comes close to the 900s. These clubs do deliver a high launch and long distance. I gained about 5 -7 yards with each club. I recommend the TT Dynalites, S300, stiff shafts. Ebay has great deals on new sets. Do not pay retail $900 for them. It will be hard to imagine Mizuno's next version of a hybrid iron will be better than the MX 900s. I am happy and proud to say I am out of my blade phase(everyone goes through one at some time) and now playing the best irons bar none. I will have these in my bag for a very very long time. Note: if you thin the ball or have moderate trouble with decent contact, you may not notice how sweet these clubs are. Take lessons dude. The clubs will not magically make you strike the ball and lower your score 10-20 strokes. Those who are good ball strikers, take divots, etc, will notice the quality of these clubs. I would still recomend them to those who shoot 100s+. Do Demo them as you should any club before a purchase. Be prepaired to by them on the spot. Trust me you will want to. Believe the hype. If you are a golf freak, you are hatin life every day you do not own these babies.

Tested Mizuno MX 900 & MP 60, Titleist 704 & 735 and Taylor Made Rac LT.

of the list, the MX 900 is furthest from the conventional shape and are suggested as mid to high handicapper's irons, where the others are suggested as low to mid irons.

Tested them all and purchased the MX 900s with the new True Temper Dyanlite Golf SL shafts.

Guys, do yourself a BIG favour, test the MX 900's. Forget the Ego.

After only 2 games:
* Distance is long & very very consistent.
* Accuracy is 200% better.
* Ball shape & height what I wanted, High!
* Feel is Super Soft from Mizuno Forged
* Looks is stunning
* Quality so far is the best
* Price is fine for the technology/quality

Have fun.

I have been very very serious and addicted to golf for past 2 years. I started from so-called beginner's club and I used blade irons last year. Suddenly I lost my passion, but I still try to play once a week. As I don't put enough time as I did before, I couldn't hit blades very well. I started look into game-improvement irons and I had a chance to try MX900. It felt good, and not like other game-improvement irons, this one doesn't have exaggerated offset. I just gave it a go: I bought a set with steel shaft.

Result? I cannot be happier with my decision. Feels good, hits high and long, and most of all, ball goes straight. What can I expect more? Workability? MX-900 works as it should (of course when I executed well).

One word - awesome!

If you don't have enough time to practice 200 balls a week, 2+ rounds a week, please don't be a macho-man with xtra stiff steel shaft with a blade heads. Ease your stress off with this game-improvement irons and enjoy the game. You lose nothing. Great feel, greater shots, that's what you get.

My review may read somewhat exaggerated, but I'm telling the truth. Why don't you give it a try yourself? You'll know why all the MX900 users are so happy with it.

You sometimes read reviews and suspect the raves cant be true! Believe me, the other reviews here are right on the money. These irons are the closest thing to perfect that I have ever hit. Working the clubs right or left is a snap. If you stay back and loft the long irons, they soar! Punch shots are automatic. The second round out, I hit a variety of irons so tight to my aiming line, I was truly in awe. And a couple of birdies resulted. You MUST give them a try!
Coming off a variety of fitted Ping sets.
