Demo'd the clubs today in Dallas. If you like a forged v. cast feel for your irons, these will do nicely. Oversized heads give quite a bit of confidence and they look like big blades at address. High quality sticks. I can not speak for the technology, but the feel was medium hard. Ping, Taylor Made, Cleveland and Hogan all had demo tents next to Hogan, and I tried them all. IMHO, Mizuno Mx-20 was second and Cleveland TA7 were first. Even though the Cleveland boys were feeling a little cocky about Leonard's win last week with a Launcher, the TA7 was the best combination of feel and forgiveness. With a 6 iron carry of 170 yds, the DGS300 was a much better fit than the Release shaft. The release does have a softer feel but launches the ball very high. too high for me, but should fit a majority of smooth swingers. Hit it straight.

These are a GREAT set of clubs! I always wanted to move toward a forged set of irons and I have always heard and read great things about Mizuno. But I was intimidated because usually better players only use forged irons. Well with these clubs a high handicapper can enjoy them as well. I shoot in the high 80's, but still have trouble with my 5 iron, but I am working on it. I choose the MX-20 because its forgiveness with the cavity back and the slight offset. I really hit them straight, not necessarily longer. I had a set of Cobra II's and a knock-off set of the Cobra II. I hit the MX-20 further than the Cobra II and the same as the Knock-offs. The feel is great and like I said earlier, they go much straighter that past irons used. I get good height and a lot of spin, no problem sticking the greens. I have developed good consistency with theses clubs.

Great clubs. Sweet feel and extremely forgiving. They also have a substanial amount of feedback so they should appeal to lower handicap players as well. Mizuno does a great job of incorporating a forgiving design without an obviously oversize head. If you are truly ready to buy a great set of clubs at a fraction of the price as cast clubs like Callaway, TaylorMade and PING, look no furthur. Although the lofts on these clubs are 2 degrees stronger than most clubs off the shelf, the weigthing on the back of the club head gives it a towering trajectory. Lots of fun to hit, but not to worry you can still hit the knock down shot, and can work the ball easily either way. Great clubs, I couldn't be happier. Clubs came with Rifle 6.0 (which may influence trajectory, i don't know)

I'm a low 80 to high 70's golfer. I bought my MX 20 recently and have been palying with them for the last month. I used to play with the Ben Hogan Apex Plus irons (Great Clubs!!), but bought these, mainly for a change. After playing with them for a month now and settling my mind with it's larger head, the only thing I can tell you is that I've been hitting so many more greens. The feel is good, but the forgivness of these irons is GREAT!! I tried to order them with the Dynamic Gold S300 shaft, but by mistake I ordered them with the custom Dynalite S300. I have to tell you that I don't really know if it's the shaft, the club or simply the confidence you feel with these clubs, but I've really been scoring much better. Only thing I didn't liked were the grips, but I changed them before I even tried them. Great Clubs. GIVE EM A TRY!!

These are really lovely irons. They look and feel beautiful and are very easy to hit. It took me about 5 rounds to feel confident with the distances and now I'm on or around the green more often. The loft on the pitching wedge seems a little high to me, but I can adjust or have it changed. The long irons are a joy. I have great confidence hitting the three off the tee when acuracy is a must, and I don't feel like I have to swing hard to get the ball going. I've been averaging 200 to 215 depending on conditions. From the rough these babies work fine. One surprise. The pitching wedge is a breeze to hit from around the green. I haven't noticed any forgiveness issues, because it always feels like nice contact. I must say that to me these irons don't spin a great deal, but this is no problem once you become used to where you go when you hit on the green. All in all there just isn't anything to complain about with these clubs.

Customer Service

Excellent. Magee's gave me the mp30s to try. I din't like them and they let me exchange for the mx20s.

I don't normally do product reviews but I have to tell somebody. I purchased the Mizuno MX20s in early December after narrowing choices to Hogan Pro Edges Mizuno. I was looking for the most forgiving and solid feeling club but not bulky and with the thin line of a blade. My handicap had risen from 7 to 10 in the past year and I felt it was due largely to my iron play and with me getting older, as I qualify for AARP to give you a clue. The golf god's were looking down on me with my selection of the MX20s. I can't wait to start playing again. I don't change clubs very often as I have been playing with Wilson RM staffs for about 10 years. What a difference!!!! I was custom fitted (1/4 inch longer and 2 degree upright) and then ordered the 4 thru lob wedge, so see a pro before buying. I strongly recommend the MX20s, then get ready for more birdie putts as you'll be hitting it closer to the pin!

I am a lefty. Have played with these clubs for ~1 month. Excellent quality, looks, and feel. Sweet spot feels like you never touched the ball. The only complaint, I personally have, is that there is a 5 degree loft difference between the 9 iron (41 degrees)and the PW (46 degrees). I assumed that most manufacturers didn't go beyond 4 degrees nowadays. The most loft difference between all the other clubs is 3-4 degrees, incrementally from the 3 iron to the 9 iron. I don't quite understand. Someone shine some light on this for me. Something to remember/notice if ordering, these come standard with the Dynalite shafts. Unless you want a high ball flight, I would suggest the Dynamic Gold. Anyway, got mine 2 degrees upright with an extra inch length in the Dynamic Gold shafts. I agree with anyone about being fitted for your clubs. It is one of the most important factors. Loved the irons so much that I have ordered the MP series wedges in 52, 56, and 60 degrees. I am going to have to do some club bending though, to get everything in concert. I would highly recommend the MX-20's to anyone.

I've been playing with custom fitted Ping ISI's for about 4-5 years now. Played Titleist DCI's before that. I demo'ed the Ping I3+, the Titleist DCI's and these. I was amazed at how much more feedback I got from the Mizuno's. I really loved my Pings, but in comparison, they feel muted, whether I hit them on the sweetspot or not. The Ping I3+ felt very much the same. The DCI's were impressive, but not as forgiving as the Mizuno's. All in all, I wish I had traded in my Pings earlier. I think the feedback will help me fine-tune my swing and lower my score. I do hit them farther as well and the crisp click on contact is awesome! I ordered them in Mid-December from Drewcogolf.com with TT Dynamic Gold S300 shafts (instead of the Dynalite), +2 degrees upright, and tour cord grips. They came as promised in 3 weeks even with the Christmas shipping rush ($545 included shipping and custom changes, normally $500 + shipping). Drew was very accomodating, and the best price I could find out there. I can't wait to get back to the course!

Model Reviewed: Mizuno MX-20 w/DG S300

Great club! Moving from forged blades, gained approx. 15 yds per club. This must result from the lower lofts and concentration of mass in the hitting zone. PW 140 means a gap wedge is a must with these clubs. A higher swing speed should consider the TT DG vs. the stock Dynalite shaft as the ball flight tend to be mid/high by design. Great set up, feel, and accuracy. Only issue is being LH, Mizuno does not offer the lighter weight "B" head so @ +1" the resulting swingweight is D6. Not a bad thing but it's an adjustment. There is a definite sweetspot but missing it still produces a much better result than a muscleback or comparable offering. Demo'd Ping I3, Titleist 762, and Hogan Apex Edge Pro but the MX-20 looked great at address and performed best.
