Mizuno MX 20
I have been playing the Hogan Apex Plus for over 2 years now but since I've had two little children, I've had little time to practice and play golf. Now I only play golf 2x/month and don't practice much at all. My handicap actually went down with the Apex plus, but since the birth of my new one, it's on its way up. So I went out to demo some more forgiving clubs. I demoed the Mizuno Mx 20. The forged feel of the Mizuno MX 20 is incredible. It feels just as good as the apex plus. It definitely is more forgiving than the Hogans. The setup of the clubs is very pleasing to the eye, not too bulky for a game improvement club. Compare this to the Callaway x16's, you'll see what I mean. The long irons definitely are easier to hit. The only thing I didn't like about the Mizuno's is the stock shaft they have. They come with the Dynalite TT. I personally think they are too light. I find myself overswinging alot with these clubs. If I slowed down my swing, then the results would be better. But I really don't like to slow down my swing. If I were to purchase these clubs, I definitely would order a different shaft, a much heavier shaft. Probably will get the Dynamic Gold shafts. Overall, a good club. I think you can get some good deals on ebay, but overall, you pay a little more in retail for the Mizuno name. Mizuno MX-20 Graphite Regular
I couldn't hit my mid to long irons consistently (Ping, Orlimar) so I used fairway woods instead. Unfortunately I had to compromise on accuracy and my score never came close to break the 90. With the Mizuno MX-20 I got my self-confidence in the iron shots back and now regularly hit in the high 80's. The shaft is perfect for my relatively slow swing speed and the feedback of the forged irons is unbelievable. The sound and feel of a clean shot is simply great and you strive to shoot more - and you will. The club is forgiving and 10 yards longer than my old clubs. These clubs are by far the best irons I ever had. Similar Products Used: Ping Eye2, Orlimar Tri Metal |

Bought these to replace my Ping Zing 2's. Initially I was disappointed, I thought the irons felt crappy on off-center hits. Thing is... with my Pings, I got NO feedback, but the MX-20s give you a LOT. With these irons, you know exactly what happened to your ball, long before even looking up. Feedback is simply amazing. Also, when I occationally do get a clean hit, the feeling is indiscribable. It really is true: Nothing feels like a Mizuno. I really do like my MX20's. Since I got them, I hit the ball around 15 yds longer with my long irons. (3-4-5). Do the MX20's hit the ball farther by default? Probably not, but the encourage you to want to strike the ball cleanly. I've slowed down my swing, and have begun hitting the ball like I never thought I would. Bottom line: I've added length with a slower swing, and with directional control I never got close to with my Pings. Customer Service Haven't used Similar Products Used: Ping Zing 2's |

I post a review on these irons in the past and I have played them for about 8 months. They are really great irons, however, I do not like them quite as well as the Comp-Ez's. The have a thicker sole which will help for forgivness but I really like the thinner sole of the Comp Ez's. I also hit them extremely high with a 7 iron carrying around 170 yards. I have an extremely high swing speed that may help cause the balloning but I think the low weight bar on the back helps creat this a little. if you cant get the ball in the air, get these babies, they will help. Either way you can go wrong but the Comp Ez's are still available to find brand new and you can find them for around $320.00. I just ordered another brand new set of the Comp Ez's from Wallys Discount Golf in Garland, Texas. They have several sets and even left handed which I needed. Customer Service Mizuno may have the best customer service in golf. They always answer my question via email within 8 hours or so. They are great. Similar Products Used: ALL AND I MEAN ALL OF THEM. I'm just getting started, and following an instructer's assesment of my old irons I bought a set of mx-20's with regular shafts. My previous irons were Mizuno Tour XP's. The main problem with them was the lie. Second problem was the length. Reviewed most irons in this range and the mx-20's seemed the best for making me "want" to strike the ball properly. The others that I reviewed were the Cleveland TA-7's w/ graphite shafts, TA-5's with steel, Taylor Made, and Cobra. All felt better than my improperly "lie'd" mizuno XP's - but I felt like the mx-20's went further when struck properly + the feedback was right on. The Cobra's felt good, but I don't know if I hit a bad shot with them I would know the difference. Same with the others. The Mizuno's make you strive to hit the ball properly. Just purchased the MX-20. took my time checked out many irons including Callaway x-16, Ping Eye 3+, Taylor RAc, Titleist, etc. For me, I found my original favorites, the Ping and Callaway clubs fell short literally and figureatively. I just didn't hit the ball as far or as solidly with those clubs. The demo 6 iron on all of these clubs that most shops have were a good gauge of distance and control. My favorites were the RAC and the MX-20. The Ping was a club shorter for me. The loft of the Ping iron is 2 or 3 degrees higher than the Mizuno. Do yourself a favor and go to a professionl and get your club fitted. there are many choices including sghaft length, lie angle, grip type, thickness, shaft type, etc. I ended up with 1/2 longer, 2 up lie, golf pride wraps with 1/32 added to grips and regular shaft. Custom orders are very easy and it took 10 days to get my clubs. Did you know that if you don't like your shaft, Mizuno will replace them for no charge? This is the type of benefit a professional fitting will help avoid but also something you can gain access to by going this way. My clubs are beautiful and I'm hitting approx. 1 to 1 1/2 more club distance with these irons. My 3 iron is going approx. 210 yards which is quite a gains over my prior clubs. You will need a gap wedge since the pitching wedge is a 46 degree lie and most sand irons are 56 degree. For me, this gap is 30-40 yards. E-mailme with questions. Customer Service Excellent service help recover a messed up order and got it to me as promised. Similar Products Used: Ping Eye 3+ Callaway x-14 and X-16 Titleist 682 Hogan Apex Mizuno MP-30 |

I'm back baby! My game has really sucked for a few years now. I went through about 5 sets of clubs (playing ping I3 blades for the longest amount of time) before finding these sweet sticks. I have never played forged irons before and don't I feel like the idiot. I'm so excited to play now. My distance and feel are back and I'm now beginning to dial in the accuracy. My game is still in recovery but I feel like I'm just on the cusp of posting a really low round. To hit the sweet spot is a thing of beauty and to miss the sweet spot really sucks...but it sucks to mis-hit any club. The club head are heavier than my old pings, which I like because my swing is a long arc slow tempo type. I love these irons so much I'm about to dork out and buy a set of iron head covers so they won't get nicked up. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: pings, taylormades, callaways, etc. |

Mizuno MX20 Steel R300
After scanning the pages of Ebay, I finally decided to order my set for about US$ 550.00 (Int'l Shipping Included). My set arrived promptly via Fedex within 5 days... My club specs - 3 ~ PW True Temper Dynalite Gold R300 Steel Shafts Only one word can describe my MX20s --- MAGNIFICENT!!! All irons (3-PW) are very handsome and well made. True to Mizuno's reputation of fine quality clubs. My first visit to the range with these clubs clearly confirmed why Mizuno MX20s are very propular... Directional accuracy is deadly. Flush shots feel soft and buttery. Balls fly away straight as an arrow. Off Center hits still go straight with minimal distance loss. Ball flight is mid to high; good for landing soft approach shots on the green. Clubs really give a sense of confidence during address. Am glad I got these clubs... These will be a very good replacement my former Mizuno Comp EZ irons. Will be visiting the course soon to test its perfomance in actual conditions. Am confident to get these clubs into the groove and start shooting in the low 80s or even high 70s. Am truly in love with these forged clubs --- My Mizuno MX20 irons... Will post my next review ASAP... Customer Service No Info Similar Products Used: Mizuno Comp EZ (Very Good Clubs!!!) Callaway Big Bertha Irons Taylormade Super Steel |

Only my second set ever. Bought them 3 days ago. Previously with ultra-flexing Wilson senior Pro-shaft.I got them to work pretty well even with a fast swing. The Mizunos look great and feel great, its just that I cannot hit them great. I am struggling with the 3-4 to get the ball away. However, I am smitten with the look/feel and aint about to give up just yet. Customer Service £370. Good price in UK but basic service. No fitting service (any mileage in contacting Mizuno?)
