I was tired of hearing about all the advantages a forged iron has over a cast iron, so I decided to find out for myself. I had read a lot of good reviews about previous Mizuno irons So I decided to purchase the MX-20''s. I had also read and heard that they might not be as forgiving as my current irons (Callaway Hawk Eye''s). However when I finally got up the nerve to take them out I was pleasantly suprised. I have played with them four times now and I find that they are just as forgiving as my Hawk eye''s but much more accurate. I also like the feel of hitting this iron more. I actually feel where I hit it on the face and it is not as harsh on off center hits. I hit the 4 iron on a 190 yard par 3 for the first time today (I normally use my 21 degree fairway wood, because I never could hit my Hawk-eye long irons) I hit it very much on the toe of the face and it not only made it on the green but it actually stopped pin high 15 feet to the right. I thought it was amazing when I examined the face of the iron to see just how far out on the toe I actually hit it and not have the ball go to off line.

I just recently purchased the Taylor Made 360 irons. I have enjoyed playing them. I found them fairly forgiving and had a nice feel when hit in the sweet spot. Overall, I was very pleased with these clubs. That all changed today. I went to the Mizuno demo day at a local golf shop/range to try out the new 350 cc Blue Rage driver. (nice driver) The mistake I made was hitting a few balls with a classy-looking iron available for demo, the Mizuno MX-20. One shot after another, nothing but butter. Perfect blend of feel and feedback. I found the clubs approximately one club longer than the TM 360. These clubs are also very forgiving. Off-center hits still flew long. Also, I found the design of the sole help me when my shots were fat. I couldn''t live without them. The shop agreed to take my used TM 360 plus $150 for a custom-fitted set of MX-20s. I couldn''t be happier. I know these clubs will make a huge improvement in my game. They make you want to hit them over and over.

Customer Service

Customer service at demo day was excellent. He was informative and not too pushy.

This is for Mr. Noonie. Just read your review on the MX-20''''s. Thought it was a good review. I am thinking about buying these clubs, but I have one question to ask because I am a little puzzled....what the heck is a Gerri-lover? Does this have anything to do with the clubs? When I go to the store do I ask for a Gerri-lover, and they will know what I am talking about? Keep it real!

There was a time when people didn’t share a good thing. Old timers didn’t want anyone else learning about their job for fear they might lose their job. That’s the way I feel about the MX-20’S. I personally feel that the secret should be kept, but then again there’s no secret to keep. These clubs are fantastic. The feel, the distance and being able to work the ball better is unbelievable, which is more than I could say about my fitted cast irons clubs. If you’re looking to change to a forged set of irons from a cast, this is the club. I’d even say, if you were looking to improve your forged iron play this is the club. You’ve got to try these. If you think you’re a serious player (and you have never been fitted) then take the time to get fitted for your new clubs, whether you get the MX-20’S or not. You’re wasting your time and money if you don’t. One other thing, custom made with your personal specs from Mizuno, will save you time on delivery. I got my clubs in eight days. Dealing with Mizuno’s service dept. was a good experience too. (I ordered rifle flighted shafts, a little more money but worth the difference in price, to get the performance.) I do have a problem to deal with now, I’m going to have to re-club myself, to figure the right distances, it seems to be 1½ to 2 clubs longer. People who disbelieve I call them Gerry Lovers. Double D knows whom I’m talking about. So for all you Gerry Lovers, your lose my lower handicap, which is a nine now and I’m confident it will be dropping because of my MX-20’S.

This man knows his business, he''s the best. There is an expression "you can''t buy a game"... My game is better because of Demane.

Best and most forgiving irons I have ever played. Excellent feel and easy to hit long irons (3-5). I wish they would make a two b/c I have never had such an easy time hitting a 3 iron so consistently. Above average feel on the short irons (PW & 9). Extremely forgiving, good distance and great great feel and balance.

I just bought these irons a few days ago. I had hit them before and I knew right away that these were the clubs for me. The feel of the forgings is truly addictive. They are very optically pleasing and confident at address. I can hit my long irons like never before. I highly recommend these clubs!

These irons are pure enjoyment. They let you know immediately how you hit the ball, just like a blade but they are quite forgiving. The distance is excellent. It''s also relatively easy to work the ball with these irons. I''ve been playing this game for 39 years and for the last 25 years, I have used cast cavity backs. I will never go back to cast again.

As soon as you pick up one of these clubs you realise how nicely balanced they are which gives you confidence straightaway. When singing the club, for some reason, I feel that I can keep the face straighter taking the club back, and then through impact. With my previous set of Pings, I had the tendency to roll my wrists on the backswing. Is it because these Mizunos are slightly heavier I wonder? Either way, my shots are now straighter and more consistent but the main thing is the feel when striking the ball. If anyone ever reads this review, I would urge them not make the mistake of buying cast clubs. As a previous Ping user for many years, I wish I had got away from them earlier. Cast clubs and Ping in particular absolutely suck in comparison. How that bloke with a silly beard got away with selling such garbage for so many years is totally beyond me. Thats the power of advertising I suppose.

I really shoot high 80s or low nineties. As someone mentioned, I really didn''t think I was good enough for forged clubs, but the guy at the pro shop insisted I try these clubs. I loved them. I have not played a round but I can''t wait. I hit my 7 iron about 170, with a high trajectory with a little draw. I had the clubs custom made for the first time in my life and what a difference!I tried multiple shafts but ended with a rifled 6.0. The best part of this iron is that I have confidence I can hit these suckers straight

The feeling attained when hitting one square is undescribable. I am a fairly consistant player in the mid 80''s but never thought I was good enough to play a forged iron. Now that I''ve tried them I will never play anything else. Good degree of forgiveness on off-center hits and VERY long off the sweet spot. I know that these irons will help me take my game to the next level. ***Note: Most everywhere lists these from $599-$699 for steel shaft. Try www.drewcogolf.com if you''re looking to save some cash. They have them listed for $525.
