Back after a good seventeen year absence, I started hitting balls again with a few friends and business associates. Two months later I started the process to find the right fit and feel in irons. I had a total clean slate with no predisposition to any maker, style or type of club. Thanks to some great demo programs at several stores in my area, I was able to play the gambit of new irons currently being offered. Many were very good and there are some great ones out there, but I eventually narrowed the field down to two, PING I-3s and Mizuno MX-20s. I played both for a little over a month and it became apparent… when I needed a good shot, I went for the Mizuno. I purchased a short set (5-PW) at a Demo day, along with the 18*, 21* and 24* Mizuno FLI-HI s. What a combo… I covered all the bases!!! The MX-20s are solid with a great feel and are certainly improving my game. I love to hit them! The FLI-HI s proved to be the perfect fit in the long irons and have replaced my five and seven fairway woods. This set of Mizuno’s have proven to be a strong arsenal and my scores are falling. BRAVO!!! Customer Service Great on all levels Similar Products Used: PING i3,PING EYE 2, Titleist, Callaway, Cleveland, Taylor Made, MacGregor, Cobra, Hogan, Wilson |

the irons are over all decent irons for the better golfer but i strongly beleive that they tend to lack control and some distance but i think they are a very good deal for the money you might pay for them. |

Love these clubs. I have been posting in the low 90''s and my goal for the summer is to break 90. My game has improved enough to justify upgrading from my ''starter'' set of Bullet irons. I hit everything in the store and surprised myself when I ended up with the Mizuno''s. They are easy to align, buttery contact and forgiving. And they are long. I am one+ club longer and that is a big advantage for me to hit 6 vs 5, 8 vs 7 etc. If I don''t reach my goal it won''t be because of my equipment. I can''t believe I could get a forged cavity club for the same price as the cast irons. A note to my fellow hackers. There is a reason pro''s get their clubs fitted. The guys at Edwin Watts adjusted my new set of irons and my old cleveland wedges. It is like I bought a new set of wedges too. Added confidence and consistency. Customer Service The guys at the Marietta Edwin Watts were exceptional. Let me hit every club in the store and demo as many clubs as much as I wanted. I went out of my way to work with this team and am glad I did. Similar Products Used: Callawy x14, Cleveland TA7 were the other two finalists but I hit''em all. |

I have had three rounds with these clubs the first was so so, the second was the best round I have played in 6 months on the toughest course in the area and the last was the worst score in a while on my home course. Through all of the rounds the clubs have performed above my expectations. Every shot feels good and great shots feel great. I now know that when I make a bad shot or a stupid shot it is not the clubs. The feel from these clubs are fantastic, I have tried to shape the long irons with no positive results, but when I want the ball to go straight it does. I can now fire at the pin with my irons with confidence and that alone is a big plus. I love these Irons. Customer Service ? I am former low single figure handicapper who has returned to golfing regularly again after an absence of nearly 10 years - I read with great interest the reviews of Mizuno''s MX-20''s. I knew that both my game and my existing Mizuno TP-11 blades were not matched - Where do I start? Golf equipment technology had advanced beyond belief and my game had gone backwards. After reading many equipment reviews I decided I needed a solution with forgiveness BUT that would not hinder me if and when I rediscovered my golf game! Mizuno was a name I trusted after my time with the wonderful TP-11''s - I first discovered and tested a second-hand set COMP EZ irons - They were great; almost like a blade with total forgiveness BUT they were being discontinued! I loved them and now they were being replaced by the MX-20! After reading all the reviews I ordered the MX-20''s blind without ever hitting them! What an inspired decision. My first hit was a recovery shot with a half swing 6 iron from underneath an overhanging tree; the ball sailed effortlessly 160-170 metres straight down the fairway. The love affair had begun and continues. The MX-20''s have strong lofts which I am sure counts for the comments of extra distance by other reviewers. I have personally found nearly a 2 club difference with greater feel and forgiveness. I now look forward to racing back down to single figures safe in the knowledge that I now have the right equipment to go forward with. Customer Service I can only highly recommend the service I received from Brian at www.golftoy.com - custom orders from Mizuno can be unpredictable but with Brian''s help and constant updates the wait was painless and Similar Products Used: Hogan Apex, Mizuno TP-11 |

I have been playing Callaway x-12''s with graphite shafts for the last five years. While I like these irons, I decided to try and demo new irons with steel shafts. I tried the TM 360, Titleist 822, and the Mizuno mx-20, Although the Taylor Made, and Titleist are very nice irons, I have decided on the Mizunos. At first I miss hit the six iron and was reminded that I did not hit the ball very well. After about five shots I started hitting the ball better, and wow what a sweet feeling. I guess I finally felt what everyone talks about, when you hit a forged club square. Anyway, tomorrow I plan to go and by the Mizunos. Hope this helps. I usually shoot from the mid 80''s to low 90''s. Similar Products Used: TM 360,Titleist 822. |

I have held out for ages against the scoffing by the Pro at the club about my Lynx Black Cats. These were very expensive, graphite shafted, game improver irons I bought when I was off about 20 and I thought they were absolutely fine. I was obviously wrong! I recently tried a demo MX 20 with a stiff S300 shaft and was immediately smitten. I had to buy all from 3 to SW with a fill wedge as well, all custom fitted and at a pretty good price. I love the clubs and only have two issues. The first is that the soles are narrower in the wedges than I am used to so the swing must be exact to avoid digging up the fairways and spitting the ball ten yards. The second is a nice problem, the same as another reviewer, in that thay are substantially longer that my old clubs, with a much lower flight, so I am having to re-learn all my distances. All are about 10-20 yards longer per club and the 3-iron is just great for tight tee shots as it goes further than my old Lynx 2-iron. I''m getting over 200 yards from this off a low tee. Customer Service Very good - I had to wait a week for custom fitted clubs to arrive |

MX-20 graphite regular
I had been on the lookout for the CompEZ since late last year. Since they were being discontinued, I knew a great deal was just around the corner (3-PW, graphite shafts under $400 in January). Since the MX-20’s had just come out, I decided to wait for the local shops to get the demos so that I could compare the two. None of the silly golf shops I frequented had a demo kit. I had $1000 in cash ready to spend (wisely) but could not find a shop with a demo to lend out. Why buy on faith alone only to resell or trade later with regrets. Fortunately, I learned that a shop outside of town had a demo kit. MX-20''s & CompEZ''s have a milder sensation of impact. Seems “grain flow forging” is more than mere marketing hoopla. After an hour of hitting with different shafts, I decided that the MX-20’s “clicked” the ball up a touch more easily and farther than the CompEZ’s and appeared more cool & “groovy”. I ordered a custom set that night. After a month, I’m convinced the decision to upgrade is bettered only by my decision to take up golf again. With graphite shafts my swing flows through the ball with a shock-free impact except for drastic mis-hits. My 6 & 9 are still inexperienced and I’m considering another reviewer’s suggestion to take them to bed with me. Do these clubs improve my game? YES in that they perform well and feel good. YES in that there is enough forgiveness to compensate for slight errors while giving feedback for sloppy preparation and execution. YES also in that they have helped me enjoy the game and have made me want to practice even more. Unfortunately, since the clubhead metal is "milder" than cast, the 5 already has a cut on the face. The PW has a reddish discoloration that I can''t brush off. All cosmetic and evidence of the heavy love we shared in so little time. Customer Service Lou, the fitter from the Kalakaua Golf Pro Shop was very helpful and not pushy. Since he specialized in Mizuno, he practically represented the company. I bought these irons because I tried by friend''s one and I hit it good. These clubs give you very good distance. Their also forgiving but not as much as the callaway x-14. The mizuno go stright and tend to fly lower through the air. Where as the callway go higher but a little shorter. Overall I like the Mizuno''s Customer Service it was good Similar Products Used: Callaway X-14 |
