I have been in the market to replace my X-14s and have primarily tested the MX-20, MacGregor 1025C and Cleveland TA7. The MX-20 wins by a wide margin: they are very forgiving, accurate and long. Aside from the great feeling you get from hitting a forged versus cast-iron, I was very impressed that mis-hits with the MX-20 typically gave up only distance and not accuracy. I highly recommend this club to any mid-high handicapper who wants a quality forged club that offers game improvement features. I also suggest that you get properly fitted as Mizuno offers a wide array of shat options: the standard TT dynalite gold steel shaft has a low kick point which produces a higher trajectory while the TT dynamic gold shaft option has a high kick point and consequently lower trajectory. Also make sure you have your swing speed tested: my X-14s have been driving me crazy with regular power fades when I really rip at the ball; Jeff at Fry's explained to me that the biggest source of my problem is the soft uniflex standard shaft you get from Callaway. I will be fitted with a stiff steel shaft for the MX-20s which will be perfect for my swing speed. Customer Service Haven't used yet. |

These clubs are awesome. Never thought I'd switch from the Mizuno T-Zoid Comp EZs but after demoing the MX-20s I was hooked. With the MX-20s I connect with the sweetspot much more often and when I don't the shot I'm left with isn't too far off target. The guys I play with are amazed at the distance I get with these clubs. The trajectory is higher than the EZs which suits me just fine. I love these clubs. Customer Service None so far. Similar Products Used: Orlimar tri-metal, Ping i3 O size, Mizuno Comp EZ |

I have been using TM 320s. They are excellent irons but I am thinking to get a forged set with a bit more feedback as my game improves. Demoed the Mizunos today and liked them a lot. Very nice and soft feel. Good feedback and yet forgiving enough (comparing to MP-33) being forged. Great price too (icluding fitting). very confident looking club at address, very forgiving, but little playability. highly recommended for any mid-high handicapper. easy to hit long and straight. only complaint would be on the shorter irons (pw and 9 iron). but overall, very good. |

these have to be the best irons on the market. they are so easy to hit it just makes the game fun. they look beautiful, yet still give you the confidence that game improvement clubs offer. before these i used maxfli revs, nice clubs but not this good. the mx's are much much longer, and because they are more forgiving you can hit them harder and still retain accuracy and a strike. these were probably designed for higher handicappers, but i love them, and all four pro's i know are using them. try them NOW!!! I didn't know what I wanted when I walked into the pro shop. All I knew was that I needed something a bit more forgiving than my Titleist Tour Model blades that I had been playing for the past 3 years. They'd been good clubs, but with a couple of little ones now running around the house, my time on the course has diminished, as has my ability to find the sweet-spot. Luckily the pro shop where I went would allow you to grab any club off the rack and take it out to the range and hit it. So, I tried everything. Callaway, Ping, Titleist, Cobra, Cleveland. I just wasn't quite happy with any of them, and was getting frustrated. As I walked around the pro-shop in search of the perfect iron, the sales-lady said..."have you tried the new Mizuno??" I said no, but definitely willing to give it a try. I took it out to the range and hit some balls. All I can say is wow. I've never felt a more solid iron in my life, and I've been playing golf for almost 20 years. When you catch this club on the sweet spot it is unbelievable...so PURE. Even more PURE than the feeling with the Tour Model's. And the big difference is when you DON'T hit the sweet spot. With the forged blades, forget about it...loss of distance, loss of accuracy. With the MX-20's, your ball will still end up on the green. The first time out with them, I mis-hit a shot, turned away and said "Damn-it!". With my old clubs, the ball would have been well short and off-line. With the MX-20's, I had a 12 foot putt for birdie (missed it). Point is, if you're looking for an iron that is going to be forgiving on your mis-hits, yet you don't want to sacrifice feel/workability, this is your club. Let me save you some time and frustration. Look no further, this is the club for you. Best of luck -- Tim Customer Service no experience Similar Products Used: There is no similar product out there. All fail in comparison. |

Wow. These clubs are awesome. I just love the immediate feedback I get from these forged irons. I will never play with cast irons again. The feeling I get when I hit the sweetspot is pure and is best described as "effortless distance and accuracy." Even mis-hits fly straight, albeit 10 yards shorter. I''ve easily gained a club length (5 irons are now 180+ yards with a nice, high trajectory)over my Ping i-3 o-size. GET THESE CLUBS!!! Mizuno MX-20
Let me tell you, these are absolutely the best irons I have ever played. I have played mainly Ping and Cleveland in the past and in my opinion, nothing compares to the MX-20 clubs. My local pro fitted me with the standard Dynalite Gold shafts in a stiff flex and boy was he right. That is definitely the shaft that is right for my game. It is actually a fantastic shaft even though it supposedly has a higher ball flight. The trajectory of these shafts is absolutely perfect for my game since I love a high ball flight with a soft landing- Nothing could be better. The long irons are absolutely easy to hit and on a mis-hit, distance is sacrificed instead of accuracy. I played a course yesterday that I''''ve been playing for years and for the first time ever, I got onto a 210 yard par 3 green on my first shot. That particular green is very tight and there is almost no margin for error- a little sideways and you''''re out of bounds. I''''ve also hit several shots from 200+ onto greens that I''''ve never been able to hit before. The shot trajectory, ball flight, and distance are most satisfying. Yet, there is nothing more satisfying than the soft feel of these clubs on solid contact. The click sound and feel is truly addictive and can be substituted for any club. I have waited for six months for these clubs to be introduced and boy was I fulfilled. These clubs are the best clubs ever, ones I feel that beginners can play and advanced players can shape. They are possibly the most versatile clubs out there. The head size is perfect! They are defintely smaller than pings and big berthas but larger than blades, giving you the confidence to know that if you make a good swing, that ball will jump off the face. I am truly satisfied and impressed with these clubs. If you want to improve your game or have always wanted to play forged, then BUY THESE CLUBS. The quality and workmanship is evident in this product!! Customer Service Very good, needed help from them and they came through rather quickly!!!! Similar Products Used: Ping Zing, Cleveland TA5 |

Mizuno MX 20 Exsar blue shaft
I am an 15 handicap and have been playing Titleist 990 irons with rifle 6.0 shafts for about two years. As I get longer in the tooth (I am 62 years of age) my golf swing has slowed considerably. I was down to hitting a five iron about 150 yards and just about ready to give up the game. Then I started looking around for more forgiving clubs and came upon this site. The reviews for the Mizuno MX 20''s were very good and almost all said they gained distance with them. I went for them without ever even swinging one before. Am I glad I did. I just got off the course today and golf is fun again. I am going to say I gained an extra club distance but that is conservative. These clubs are wonderful. I am back to hitting the five iron 170 again. While that may not seem long to the young guns out there, for me it is a big improvement. I would also recommend the Exsar blue graphite shaft. I chose the Regular flex because my swing is slow. I am so pleased with these clubs I am sitting here at two in the morning typing in the hope that someone else that may be struggling with his game as I was, will read this and try these clubs out. I do suggest doing a demo and not buying them without trying them first. Although I am very happy I plunged right in. I cannot imagine a mid to high handicapper that would not benefit from these clubs. Customer Service None Similar Products Used: Hogan Edge, Titleist 990, Kenneth Smith, Wilson 1200 |

I thought the MX-20 was much too heavy for my swing speed, and as a result, threw off my whole rhythm and tempo. The best example I can use, if your familiar with baseball, is to try swinging a bat that''s too heavy ... you''re always too late on the swing, and always trying to use too much muscle too hit the ball ... which, of course doesn''t work in golf. Additionally, I thought they looked rather large at address. Really wasn''t used to that ... Great design, fantastic quality ... just didn''t work out for me ... on the lookout for new clubs ...
