EXCEPTIONAL club, not at all for a weekend warrior, amature, or someone looking for forgiveness. SERIOUS players who want to perfect or better their swing only. if you make a mistake the club WILL tell you, so you can work on it. if this is not you consider Fusion type clubs and be happy.

After a long search for a new set of irons, i settled on the MP 60's. I have played Callaway clubs for a long time but wanted to try more of a players club as my game and swing had improved. These clubs have an outstanding feel when hit flush but really are not very forgiving at all on mis-hits, especially if hit on the toe. I loved the ability to hit knockdown bullets with tons of spin. The problem is that these clubs were great fun to hit on the range (when I could hone in a particular shot after 5 or 6 tries) but when it came time to play on a course, they just did not have enough forgiveness for me (first shot always counts...). The minimal offset did correct my hook tendency but they just were not very fun to play because of a lack of confidence due to poor correction on mis-hits. When struck well, they don't come any better. My other comment is that the 3 and 4 irons are as thin as knives and very difficult to hit. I hit my Callaway 3 iron 200 yards but could barely hit these 180 (which lead me to buy a Taylor made hybrid, probably a good idea anyway). After 2 moths, I sold the clubs and am back to square 1 looking for a new set of irons, likely more in the game improvement category, possibly the Ping G5 or the Callaway x20.

Pros: Nice look at address. Not much distance lost on offcenter shots. Center hits feel great. Decent distance. Semi-workable.

Cons: A bit heavy. Offcenter shots feel a bit harsh (not as bad as most blades). Could be longer.

Bougt these clubs second hand pw-2i R300 steelshafts. Very nice feel and accuracy.
Might be somewhat shorter than a Callaway x-14 that I used before. But I trade that evrytime for accuracy. Irons are for precision, woods and driver are for length. So that fine with me.

Purists will jump all over me for playing a "player's set" but I do own a set of X20s which are superb and a set of Fusions which I find to be too unpredictable. Problem with most Super Game Improvement sets is that they mask your errors. Off center hits do not give much feedback and fatshots are compensated by fatsoles. Add to it light static weight and swingweight, you can cast your clubs, block your release, etc and still get away with murder. But I really question if that's the best way to play golf.

Granted that if I had money on the line I would go with my X20s for the round, for the purpose of making improvements, however, these MP60s do a much better job of translating my swingfaults into real feel. And I seem to improve across the board even with my driver after swinging these MP60s. The noticeable swingweight just allows me to feel the swing and position of the clubhead much more so than Superimprovement clubs can , and upon impact, the sensation of a pured shot alone is worth the price. The reward of a great feel is what keeps me wanting to hit more good shots, not just any shot that goes straight due to club forgiveness.

The weaker loft and heavier club seems to take off distance for me. But the shot dispersion is tighter due to making better impact with a more controlled swing. Also, you know where the shot will end up with a less robust clubface. With the fusions, when I hit it on the hot spot, it goes 15 yards father than normal good shots and that used to kill me on par 3s. And I just couldn't repeat that hot spot shot which made it just useless.

If your Iron Handicap is decent, I definitely recommend these clubs. It'll reward you when you execute good fundamentals and force you to swing not hit. Unless you have wrists of a lumber jack, your wrists will tell you to stop abusing it by flipping or casting. A nice swing will blow past the ball with a buttery feel and a crisp sound that you won't hear from the bulbous cavity clubs.

Takes a week to get your clubs but they match the serial numbers to ensure consistency of feel through your set

My handicap as of right now is a 9.4. I just got these clubs this past wknd. I played today with them for the first time. I got to the range and hit them for about 30 minutes before my round. I went out and shot 79. I love these irons. I think that they are going to be able to help me become a better golfer.

Customer Service

I had them fitted at a mizuno demo day at my club.

These clubs look nice, have a hefty price tag, but they are a sweet forging. Mizuno has great lines and design. I play to about a 6 hdcp so I'm not the best golfer in the world but have this to offer.

Pros- Great design, good topline and D3 swingweight feel great. They set up nice with minimal offset. Very easy to construct shots. Mid ball flight with a touch of spin.

Cons- Short. They are at least 1 club shorter than I'm used to playing. I played TA1 blades and Titleist blades in the past. These are very short for such a sweet swinging iron. Also, a bit harsh on slight mis hits. Not much distance loss, but harsh feel. Other than being a short club, I liked them but will go back to Clevelands.

The irons look great and if you play golf you understand the feeling of the perfect shot, every shot I hit "feels" like a perfect shot. The workability of a blade with the pro trajectory is wonderful. The mp-60's should not be played by the average golfer, the d3 swing weight and heavy head are not forgiving for the over the top swing.....try cobra.....

At first I thought the MP60 was really short and kept hooking to the left. I had them checked for the loft and lie adjustment. Well to sum it up Mizuno needs to do more quality control checks. My irons loft wre 3 degree weak on almost every club except the 4,3,2 which wre 2 degree off and the the lie of these clubs
2,3,and 4 were 1-1/2 degree upright 5,6,were 1 degree upright and the 7,8,9,PW
were standard lie. These clubs was ordered as being standard loft and lie. After having these clubs check and adjusted the MP60 are great clubs. My advise to those who have MP60 go have your clubs check.

Very very good club. Moved from Titleist 704's 2 weeks ago. Ball flight more controlled (slightly higher on longer irons - with shorter irons like arrows), and the feeling off clubface is very soft. Would recommend to all single figure golfers because although they are slightly more forgiving then the MP32's or the Titleist 695s... you need to have a consistant golf swing to hit them - a game improvement iron they are not, there is no substitute for good tempo.. You can work the ball up/down/left/right with no concerns. I also tried the new Callaway X-forged, but these not only looked better in my opinion but the main thing was performance.
In summary - very good iron, with good performance and with that slight bit of forgiveness. The bottom line is, you need something between your ears, a smooth swing, a short game and dedication.... then these clubs will come into th're own and golf can be played.
