These are the best clubs I have ever hit. I'm not a great golfer, I shoot in the 80's once in a while. I needed new irons so I went for the mx-23. The pro that fitted me told me to try the mp-60. I told him i'm not good enough. Needless to say I bought the mp-60's. Everyone here is right, don't be scared of these player's clubs, let these clubs make you a player. They are forgiving on mis-hits. The best feeling i've had in my 2 1/2 years of golf is the day I was out on the course with the mp-60's for the first time and hit that first shot on the sweetspot. WOW!!! It's like cutting through butter. I can't possibly see myself buying another set of irons. A little pricey but worth every penny and nagging that I got from my wife. Let me add that they are also the most beautiful iron out there.

Model Reviewed: MP-60, 4 - PW, Flighted 5.5. Rifle's

After many hours evaluating clubs, I finally decided on the MP-60's. I have been playing Wilson Staff cast irons for about 10 years, and frankly loved the irons. No issues or problems. Just thought I might be missing something with today's technology, so decided it was time to try something new. Looked hard at the Cleveland CG2's, CG4, Nike OS Combo, Mizuno MX-23's. Was came down to the CG2's and MP-60's, and I was struggling to make a decision until I found out I couldn't custom order the CG2's with Flighted Rifles which my clubmaker suggested would benefit my came. So got the MP-60's. My pro who made me a driver and fitted my clubs thought I should get the MX23's only because its a bigger sweet spot. . . in hind sight he might be right. Why not get the biggest sweet spot available? I ain't a pro, so bigger the better? At the same time, I loved the look and feel of the MP60's so I went for it. I also replaced my 3iron with a Mizuno FLI-HI CLK 23*. Great call!! I hit a pretty good 3 iron, but this club is higher, straighter, and more consistent. I hit the MP60's farther than my Wilsons, about 5 - 10 yds. I am going to have to get a 52* gap wedge between my PW and SW as I am finding out there is too big of a gap there to try and "fill in".

All in all I love these irons so far. Only played about 4 18 hole rounds on it so far, so things can change, but right now I am very pleased with my investment although they are pricey!

Customer Service

Took a little longer than I wanted getting the clubs out of their custom shop. Would have liked them sooner, but no major complaints.

When I got these MP-60's they had TT Dynamic Lite S300's in them. I didn't really like the way they behaved and I had a tendency of pulling shots. I was beginning to think I bit off more than I could chew by buying this particular set. I was using a set of MX-23's with stiff graphite shafts so the difference in dynamics was very pronounced for me. I then installed Project X 5.0's and when I used the set initially, I really thought that I messed things up. I was about to just go back to my MX-23's. I even ordered graphite shafts to replace the Project X's. I decided to still give the MP-60's a chance and spent several more days on the range hitting buckets upon buckets of balls. I guess it all clicked when I realized how to play the heavier shafts. I'm really pleased now. I used to think that the PX's were way too stiff. In fact, they were slightly softer than my graphite shafts. I just wasn't used to the extra weight. When I decided to swing at, rather than SLUG, the ball. I started getting great results. I am now hitting the clubs just as long as the 23's (and the 23's aren't short by any means..175-180 with my 7 iron). In fact a little bit longer despite the weight which should supposedly be slowing down my swingspeed. Perhaps the fact that the shafts behave more like a firm flex rather than a stiff flex has something to do with this My swing with these clubs are now more fluid yet more deliberate. I just love them now and can't wait to get back out on the course.

I'm a 10 handicapper and initially felt that I should have just saved my money and stayed with a set that was working just fine (brought me down from a 14 to a 10 in the past year). I'm glad I went against my gut feel because these clubs are so rewarding to hit and full of feedback. The results of my decision are yet to be seen but for now I think the future looks bright! If the end result proves me wrong, at least I still have the MX-23's to fall back on. Not exactly a sorry state of affairs if you ask me.

I have played golf for about 15 years, after the first 3, I went to playing about once a year, last year I joined a country club and started playing alot and have been playing alot so far this year. I had cleavand TA6 clubs, and they are decent, but wanted to try some others. I was told by our assistant pro that the MP 60 was a "players" club and might be above my current ability, he reccomened the MX 900 I read a review that mentioned golfclubreview.com (a great deal, they sent me complete sets for a week) so I demoed the MX 900 and the MP 60, the MX 900 were nice, but that would have been a lateral move from the TA6. I played the MP 60 for the whole week and loved them, I didn't find them to be any more punishing on mis hits than the TA 6s, but when you hit it flush, they feel so nice and they really look good at address. I reccomend these clubs highly, and don't be afraid of them just because you don't have a single digit handicap.

I bought my set of MP-60 two months ago. I have +1/2" and 2 degees up. Shaft is Dynamic Gold SL, regular. I am extremely pleased with this set. Very easy to hit. Smooth shaft, not too light, not too heavy. A lot of feedback. I previously had MP-30, which is also a good club. However this one is by far better.

I play in the low 90's since last season (with Mizuno MX23) and had difficulties breaking 90.
Switched last week to the MP60 with S300 shaft and in the first round I played I scored 87 without the feeling that I had a special day. The second round I played was again in the 80's.
The feel of these clubs is even better than the MX23 and I don't agree witth those players that say they are only for low hcp.
If you are a good ball striker try them and you won't regret it only your wallet because once you have tried them you will buy them.

Just a quick note because i feel i have to speak up over these clubs. I can play to 9 h'cap and have mostly used Taylor Made things out there TM O/S LT etc.. but found them to rust easily and for the money i was dissapointed. I eventually decided to get fitted up and try any and all makes for a budget of 500 quid. I can honestly say that after purchasing the MP60 R300 and having played with them for 3 months, dont bother looking any where else if you love the feel of a colf club. Just awsome

This is just a follow-up to my earlier review, as course play and range play differs in various ways.

Tried these out for the first time today on the course. Shot an 87 (7 over on front and back) on a course I normally shoot 92+. Again, I'm not the longest hitter of the ball, but these irons are the real deal. I hit them consistently the first 15 holes, and started going downhill the last three due to fatigue. It had nothing to do with the irons...just me making some bad shots. Nonetheless, what normally results in double bogeys resulted in bogeys at most.

Absolutely terrific, and were easier to hit than I had imagined. Great trajectory and accuracy. Oh yeah, they frickin' look sexy as hell upon address, and that means a lot to many for confidence building.

I'll be changing out the R300 shafts for some flighted rifles, so we'll see how the lighter shafts work. Really looking forward to spending many rounds with this set. Don't be hesitant on trying them out if you're a relatively high handicapper. They're more forgiving than the MX 23's I had last year (in my opinion, anyway).

First of all, let me describe the type of player I am. I do NOT hit the ball a long way (6 iron = 152 yds), and my driver swing speed is at best 100mph on my better days. On average, I'm about 230 or so off the tee. I consider myself about a 20 handicap at the most, and have those occasional rounds in the 80's. Ok, enough about me...on to the irons.

I firmly believe that I have found THE set I've been searching for. Sure, I was apprehensive about getting these "player" type clubs hearing that "I'm not good enough to hit them consistently, blah, blah, blah..." I demoed these irons and found that everything negative I've heard about not being good enough to hit them were absolutely false. Conversely, I hit these irons BETTER than any cavity back I've owned (I've spent way too much money on irons alone this year - 3 sets). I tried them out today for the first time, and hit the darn seven iron OVER 150 yds, with a swing speed of 80 mph (I had one of those swing speed radars clocking my speed). My good hits were about 75%, and when I did mis-hit them, it still went in the general direction I was aiming with minimal distance lost.

To summarize, if you're contemplating on whether or not these clubs will enhance your game, give them a try on demo day. Seriously, what have you got to lose? You just may be pleasantly surprised...I was.

I'm in my mid 50's, have played golf over 35 years. Most recent set was Cleveland TA3's, 2* flat, 1/4 inch longer, with S300 steel shafts. Just got MP60's 3 days ago. Got these 3/4" longer, 2* flat, with SL R300 shafts. Needed the flex and lightness for the decrease in swing speed for us old guys. Went to the range for an hour, never felt anything so smooth with no torque or sting, even on mis-hits. The cavity and weighting allow for a little bit of forgiveness, and the ball flight is perfect. I am the Senior Club Champion, as well as former Player of the Year where I play, and these clubs will help me continue to keep these. I have played and demo'd a lot of clubs, but for pure ball striking, and workability, these clubs do not have an equal. Played first round of golf today with the clubs, shot 73, thought back, and said ball striking was effortless. Can't say enough about the clubs.
