Even though my better-playing friends tried to talk me out of it, I got a set of MP-30's. They said they would be too difficult for me, as a high handicapper. Boy were they wrong! My old Callaway x-14's were nice, and supposedly very good for "game improvement". Well, the Mizunos have helped me immensely to groove a swing. My feedback is much higher, and my shots are much tighter. Mis-hits are no worse than with the x-14's, and hitting the sweet spot is an indescribably buttery sensation. I jump for joy after a well-made shot! I am now beginning to fade and draw a bit at will, which was not possible with the x-14's. At first I was intimidated by them, as they looked much smaller than my old clubs. I figured it would take me a long time to use the longer irons. Well, from the very first hit, I managed shots that I had never before been able to execute. In brief, I have a hard time believing that anybody could find something wrong with these clubs. And for those of you who are afraid of the Mizuno MP-30's because they're for "better players", don't make any final choice until you have tried these. You won't regret it!

These clubs are the greatest clubs on the market. They beat out the titleists, taylormades, and the nikes easy. GREAT CLOBS PERIOD!

Great irons. At set up these irons inspire confidence. Feels like you can get a clean strike out of any lie. Arrived at the shop planning on buying Callaway(great drivers etc), Taylor Made or Nike. Tried Mizuno's on the advise of store manager and instantly loved the feel. TM 300 were also impressive. Once I had tried the MP30 it was hard to look towards the X16's or Nike. The biggest lesson I learned was that when choosing equipment you should enter the shop with an open mind. I keep an eye on the market for new clubs, balls, drivers etc. but these irons will stay in the bag for a long time. Big thank you to Keri at AGD for pointing these out.

WOW! Switched from a custom set of Callaway X-12 Pro Series irons that I had played for several years. Wanted to switch to a forged iron for more feel and workability but did not want a muscle back. Decided to test the MP-30s due to the cavity back design. Was amazed at the feel and consistency. Also considered the MacGregor 1025CM and Taylor Made RAC LT. Decided on the Mizuno's due to the reputation for top quality forged irons as well as the buttery feel. Had a Mizuno certified fitter measure my swing for the specs. You will be disappointed if you buy these off the rack. Custom fitting is the only way to go. Only takes 7-10 days to get them from Mizuno. Have only had them a week and now wish I would have ordered them sooner. Even if you miss the sweet spot the loss of distance is marginal and direction is hardly effected. Only draw back is they are so soft they will get dinged up over time. Buy some head covers for when you're storing or transporting them. If you're looking to trim those last few strokes off or get to that singe digit handicap do yourself a favor and go test these irons.

Awsome nothing can compete. Very forgiving and blade-like at the sametime. For the lower handicap golfer. You'll never turn away from them. Great looking as well.

This is a followup to my original review earlier this year. I have mp30's w/ rifle 6.0 shafts. I have played my zunos now for @ 50 rounds this summer and fall. I am @ a 10 handicap and I shoot high 70's low 80's consistently. Here are my honest opinions about this set. First-there is no better feeling than hitting this club on the screws. There is an excitment to hitting a shot pure-no doubt about it-the feeling is so soft and flush. I love the lower boring flight with these irons especially since my natural ball flight is a draw. No ballooning shots rather just a low to high laser like ball flight. Although this is advertised as a game enhancement forged iron, this club with its cavity back/muscle back combo design is reliably forgiving especially on the 5I and higher. The 4 is slightly tougher to hit consistently and the 3I stays in the back of the truck, so that my 5 wood can be in the bag. The 8I is a deadly accurate weapon that allows me to attack pins from @ 160 with a confidence I have never had before. Dont be scared by the smaller head, this club looks fantastic at set up with a thin top line and no offset. I have played plenty of rounds with these clubs and can honestly say that they are very, very accurate and as far as distance consistantcy is concerned, they are spot on. As for distance compared to my prior TM oversized irons, the Zunos are maybe a slight bit shorter, but that is mostly due to the weaker lofts. 47* PW is @ 140, the 7I @ 170 and the 5I @ 190. The PW is the most beautiful club in my bag. Easy to hit full or punch low with a 3/4 swing. Around the greens, this is my main chipping weapon due to the wonderful feel of this club. I have 3 Vokey wedges (52,56,60) but the forged mp30 PW has "feel" that the cast vokeys wish they had- and I love my vokey wedges! If you are looking for an iron that provides perfect feel and feedback-BUY THESE CLUBS! This is the the perfect blend of traditional club head design and state of the art technology that allows for maximum playability for lower handicapers. And, they look awesome in the bag! Only negative so far-they are soft and will ding easily in the bag. Be careful not to slam the clubs in the bag cause you will ding them badly. The clubs have snmall little marks all over them just from banging around in my bag. The standard Zuno grips are kind of slippy too. I regripped mine with a set of Lampkin permawraps and now they are perfect.

Awesome iron set!!! Nothing else can beat the feeling of these irons. Workability is just as easy as blade design irons. I have these irons on Dynamic Gold Lite S-300 because I figured I'm not as strong swinger as other players and it's just wonderful. I lowered my score to almost scratch from high 70s. Mizuno has taken these half cavity design to another level!!!

Just paying tribute to my old set of Mizuno TP-9 irons. Had them for three years now and still love them just as much as the day I got them. Good looks and unbelievable feel and distance control. My buddy is also lefty and is trading in his Mizuno MP-19's for the MP-30's. Me? I'm staying with my trusty TP-9's. However, at least he's sticking with the best name in golf.

Customer Service

I emailed Mizuno before buying my used set ot TP-9's. I wanted to know why they didn't offer a blade design for lefties anymore. Apparently, they weren't able to offset the production cost of the TP-9's with market sales. Too bad. They're magnificent clubs.
