Let me qualify this by saying I've only been able to play a few rounds with these irons. When the weather turns warmer and I've had a chance to really get used to these sticks I'll post a more thorough review.
But here's what I know now...
I've got the Macs M565s in regular flex graphite and they seem to fit my swing speed just fine.
I find them to be very attractive irons but I imagine the bulk in, and near, the sole might not appeal to some better players.
These irons have smaller heads and less offset than the irons I've played in the last 10 to 12 years.
I find that very helpful in alignment and more pleasant to look at in the address position.
My early impressions are that they are easier to hit straight.
And they're long.
You might have to make a distance adjustment with these.
The forged heads and graphite shafts give me good feel and feedback.
The trajectory is high, but after experimenting with ball position I can control it (most of the time) if the situation warrants.
I really like the mid-irons and I've got some adjustments to make with the wedge and 9-iron around the green.
Now here's the surprise. If you get a set of these you might not want to put 3 and 4 irons in the closet in favor of your hybrids.
In my brief experience, I've found the 3 and 4 irons not only fun to hit but easier to control than my hybrids.
I've used the 3-iron off the tee on some short par 4s with success.
The 3,4 and 5 irons in this set hit high and straight. Maybe it's the clubs' wide sole and deeper cavity, maybe it's the shaft, maybe it's the reduced offset, or maybe it's the midsize head.
Or maybe it's all of the above.
Who knows?
So far, so good.

These are excellent clubs in everyway. They are long, slightly workable and accurate.

They are by far the most easy to hit forged clubs I have hit.

Similar to the other reviews, I am finding this club about 1 club longer than most - this is simply due to the fact the club has less loft. I'm hitting these clubs 8-10 yards longer than my old set,

The club itself has all the appearance of a game improvement club. The topline is fatter than what I am used to. But that gets lost quickly after you start hitting them. One thing not mentioned are the standard Winn grips. I love these grips and thing MacGregor made an excellent choice.

The shafts are Precision Rifle 4.5 (regular flex). I switched from stiff recently and recommend this shaft to all but the fastest swingers. These clubs play more to a "firm" level.

You simply will not find a better club (irons) than MacGregor and this is one of the best.

Of all the clubs I've played these and the Maxfli A10s are the best. I'll give the nod to Maxfli for single digit handicappers and to MacGregors for everybody else.

I purchased these clubs in the steel stiff flex from RockBottomGolf.com last month for $299 w/ free shipping. I traded in my Adams GT2 irons for them, so I didn't have to pay too much more to get into the MacGregor set. These irons are great!!! It has a smaler club head than my previous irons and the lightweight shafts are great right out of the box. The club face on the 3-6 irons is hot and the miss hits don't jar my hands and wrists like other steel shafted irons I've hit. These clubs are also long, about 5-6 yards longer than my my Dynacraft DFS irons with Paragon graphite shafts. They are very accurate with a nice sound when it strikes the ball. Off the fairway, these clubs are great. They are just as easy to hit through the rough stuff and on awkward lies. It took me some work at the driving range to get the long and mid irons to fade or draw on command. I think thses clubs are still considered "Game Improvement Clubs" so that may be why it's tough to shape my shots. It could also be the bi-metal "hot" face in those irons as well. The only problem is that the clubheads "feel" soft and I don't know how long these clubs will hold their loft and lie after repeated use at the driving range.

Customer Service

Never talked to MacGregor.
Rock Bottom Golf offered free shipping and had the irons for less than half the price I found at my local shops and even some websites.

I am a beginner who started with cheap cllubs and moved on straight to Wilson 1969 Bulletback blades... However, I realised my swing speed cannot give me good distance using the blades although I am able to hit straight... This is where the V-foils came in. I had a sweet experience with MacGregor NVG2 driver and so decided to try out the MacGregor irons.. A local used golf club shop was carrying it and I tried swinging it. It felt good. Since then, I manage to get distance on all my irons as compared to the beginner set and the bulletbacks. What was most impressive for me was that I was able to hit the 3 and 4 irons straight everytime! My 3 irons went a good 190-195m...Delighted! Go get one! Seen pars appearing on my scoresheet with reduced number of double bogeys ever since I played these irons... Definitely improved my game.

Unfortunately the set I bought only comes from 3-PW. Got to get separate wedges for my short games.

had titleist mb690 for past 2 years and with me being 54 wanted an iron that didn't rattle your cage when the swing didn't hit the sweet spot. read a million reviews and bought a set of m565 irons used 5 rounds from ebay for $200.
took just little getting used to but very satisfied with them. don't used the 3/4 iron as i'm in love with my 7 wood but very satisfied with the remaining irons. look nice although i'd still like a little slimmer top line but overall they set up very well. the pw through the 6 iron are very solid! they look good and swing good but the grips were terrible. changed them that same night i got them and much better. very nice irons for the money.

Wow. Great sticks. Classy looks, confidence-inspiring forgiveness, great shafts, these are clubs that can help the mid-high capper all the way down to the low capper.

I can play anything I want, and have tried over 10 different sets of irons over the last year searching for THE set to stick with for the next 3-5 years. These are it!

Can be had for a song on EBAY. Best irons deal in golf. Get them today and you will not be sorry. I don't write reviews, but I am writing one for these.

Quality. Period.

Everything mentioned in the other reviews are accurate! Long Distance, nice ball flight, accurate, easy to hit, great feel! Incredible value without feeling like cheap clubs.

I am now hitting a 5i an avg. of 180 when the day before getting these I was hitting it 165. Love these irons!

My friend has Mizuno MP 30 (or 33). We compared at the range switching back and forth. The Mizunos are shorter for both of us and the ball flight is about the same...a nice high ball flight that flies long. He couldn't get over these irons and wished he didn't just buy the Mizunos.
