Great clubs. I am one who likes to change clubs a lot. I get putters and drivers, but I never want to change my irons. I love them. They are super forgiving have the sweetest feeling when struck well. Alos, I find them very workable. I can play low stingers and high floaters. I can also play the hook or slice around obstacles. Love them. I am 14 and pretty small and lanky but I can hit these far. They have a look like they are my old faithfuls, like I have had them forever. They are very well weighted throughout the set. I saw no reason to add lead tape. Very forgiving, long and sweet. Any one looking for a workable and forgiving cavity-back... take a look at these

Model Reviewed: TA5 Gun Metal w/ Dynamic Gold S300 Sensicore 3-GW

I have always played Ping irons and found the looks of the Gun Metal finish to my liking. I decided to order a set to replace my Ping I3 blades. I ordered them custom with Dynamic Gold S300 Sensicore shafts, 2 degrees upright, and +1/4 inch in length. I have to say that this is the best set of irons I've owned. The ball flight is high but I've always hit everything high anyway. They are forgiving and for a cast club, have excellent feel when struck well. The long irons are the easiet to hit long irons I've ever had. Distance wise they are equivalent to my Pings and while not as workable as a blade, I've found that I can work them if necessary. I would recommend these clubs to anyone, regardless of ability, who wants a solid set of irons that deliver straight, high, soft landing shots. The value can't be beat either. Since buying these, I liked the Gun Metal finish so much, I've replaced the wedges with Cleveland's 900 series wedges.

Customer Service

Excellent. Answered all of my questions prior to my purchase.

I bought these irons because I have loved my 588 wedges so much. The weight and balance of these clubs make them so great to swing. The cavity back design allows for much forgiveness. Off center hits often return back to the target and feel as if they were in the sweet spot. I have really enjoyed the look of the clubs, but it seems that there is a bit of rust forming on the cavity area (they are difficult to clean completely. I bought them to help me break 90 and I did it the first week. My moderate swing speed still gives me much distance.

Picked these irons up this morning and immediately went to the local course to try them out. I tried out 4 different sets of irons at the store but the TA5s just felt like they were better balanced to me. What an improvement over the Wilson Pro Staffs that I was using before! I hit more shots straighter and I had to make a huge adjustment in club selection because I hit these irons at least 15-20 yards longer on each club over the Wilson Pro Staffs. The ball just seems to fly off the clubhead. I had so much fun that I played 36 holes with only a half hour break between each round. That is a significant achievement for me because because my lower back is held together with screws and brackets. I would recommend these clubs to any high handicapper like myself. I intend to use these at least until I break 90 on a regular basis. This was money well spent. My high handicap friends are going to be in for a big surprise the next time we play for money.

The TA5's are very attractive looking clubs that hit great. The clubs are relatively forgiving, I found them to be less forgiving then most other mid range clubs I've hit, but that could just be me. The only problem with them is the PW's degree is about 44 degrees, which means Cleveland basically just forced me into buying one of their 49 or 52 degree wedges. Great clubs though especially when compared to the 600-800 dollar clubs out there anyone notice that the heel's scratch easily?

I totally agree with Danno from Evanston. These clubs will not give you 30 yards more distance or anything like that. They are however a very forgiving club that serve as a great confidence booster. Since playing with these clubs I am hitting my shots a lot more consistentlly. Over all I rate these clubs very high.

This is the first set of 'real' clubs I ever purchased. I've been playing regularly for 4 years or so and I thought I could get a good game with knock-offs, saving some money. That experiment didn't quite work out. I play in the 90's, and I am incredibly inconsistent. ABS...it's my game . I really enjoy the TA5's, however. Very forgiving when I have the thins, good on toe and heel shots, and just beautiful when I hit it flush. And considering my ABS game, very good out of the rough. When struck well, they really hold the green well for a game-improvement club. My brother-in-law has a set of TA1 forged Clevelands..and when I hit those flush, it's a beautiful feeling. That's not my regular game, however. When these are mis-struck, they perform very well, staying as close to the line as possible and not losing much distance. When I have the 'thins', they really bail me out of jail. Given my handicap, I believe that these are the clubs that can help me groove my swing to get better and move up into the next level of scoring . P.S. I really like this site for reviews but I'd like to chime in with a bit of sarcasm on some of the reviews I've read this year. These clubs DID NOT....give me an extra 30 yards....make every single shot go straight....lower my handicap by 10....or solve world hunger. This game is played in the six inches between the ears, and hopefully the discussions on this site can help all of us get feedback on what clubs can/might work for us individually.

Very solid clubs for the higher handicapper. These irons along with some constant practice (Thanks to job layoff) have really elevated my game. I've tried other irons but these are smart looking (I like the lower profile) and easy to hit - even the long irons!

Customer Service

I have dealt with Cleveland befor e- it's hit and miss. Recently they took care of a problem with a new Quicklite bag I bought.
