Cleveland HiBore Irons

Cleveland HiBore Irons

DESCRIPTION

The new Cleveland HiBore irons. 3-PW set with a large club face, and an even larger back. The clubs look a bit unusual at address, but really hit the ball well. They have a nice soft pop on contact and whether heel, toe, or sweetspot, shots eem to always go straight. I havent been able to get them out on the range or course since its been in the 30's lately here, but as far as feel goes they're great. If your in the market for a set of super game improvement clubs you owe it to yourself to check these out. They are very similar feeling to the Nike Slingshot OSS in my opinion.
Cant comment on distance as of yet, but Im more focused on getting a clean straight shot anyways. Its a great time to be in the market for a set of irons as a mid to high handicapper. SO MUCH to choose from.
These can be had for $599 in steel almost anywhere, some places a bit cheaper.

These clubs really improved my game. Never used the three iron before and rarely the four iron. Now these are my favorite clubs. Have really helped my game off the tee on par threes and in the fairway for long shots into the green. They have replaced my fairway woods. I do seem to have some problem (inconsistency) with the PW when chipping. May good back to a more conventional club.

I'm 53 years old and have a 16 handicap. I had problems with the long irons, so on my prior set I went with 3 thru 5 with hybrids (Hogans) I loved them. The problem was when I had to go to my regular irons (also Hogans) I had a problem with the transistion. After trying out the Hibore 's numerous time I bought a set when my golf shop had a sale. I love them!! I now hit all my irons. I don't hit them any further, but I hit them with a ton more acurrancy. They do have a weird feel when you hit them for the first time, but you get use to it. The no substitute for a good golf swing and you can't buy the game but, but the Hibore's sure help!! Now I have to address my putting issue!!

Outstanding set of clubs. Great super game improvement gear. I can go dig a ball out of the rough with a 3 iron. In fact, my 3 iron is now my best club in the bag. It's a beast. And it makes me feel like more of a man by swinging it. I proudly announce "That was a NICE 3 iron" whenever I hit it, just so everybody knows I can hit my 3 iron.

The PW sucks though. And I don't know how any of you play with a hybrid gap wedge. I love the 8 iron too. And the six is nails when chipping. PW is not accurate at all though. I replaced that with a Ping Rapture knock off. Much straighter.

Customer Service

Haven't used. Kinda stupid you gotta pay $40 extra for the head covers, and they fall off and you lose them and replace the lost ones with oversized iron covers.

I demo'd these clubs at Golfsmith on a whim. I had been struggling with swinging too hard with my previous irons. I decided to try these clubs out since I had been using hybrids for my 3i and 4i. These clubs really help me maintain tempo with my swing; the way they look instills confidence and allows me to swing smooth, in tempo, and in balance. You don't have to swing hard to get the ball out there. You might even hit these further than your regular irons. Workability is an issue, though. These are straight shooters, even on heel or toe shots, with very little distance loss. I'm no pro; I just want to keep the ball in the fairway and on the green. That's why I got them. Therefore, I've been pleased.

OK, so I read all these great reviews about these clubs. I even used a demo set at the local proshop. I then bought the clubs because I felt I hit them well and needed to just get use to them. Now with three rounds of golf with these clubs under my belt, I have realized these clubs are NOT that great. Very inconsistant in the deep rough. You don't hit the ball straight that easy as the reviews have suggested. If you hit the ball fat there is no way these clubs help compensate. The clubs are easy to blade as well. You do hit the ball maybe 10 yards more. There is a high trajectory. The ball lands soft most of the time. However, please do not get wrapped up into the hype about these clubs. I used NIKE Slingshot Irons before these irons and will go back to the NIKE Slingshot. I would 100% NOT buy these clubs!!

I never leave product reviews but felt like I had to spread the word about these clubs. They are amazing. The easiest clubs to hit period. If you are looking for max-improvement these are for you. I was worried about carrying non-traditional clubs but after seeing the results I could care less what these clubs look like. I have heard about some people complaining about these from the rough and I'm not sure why. I was still able to smoke the ball. These clubs do play about a club longer.

Just picked up a brand new set that was on sale at the local golf club shop for $349. Had to get them because of such a good deal. Asked them to throw a free round because I was dying to try these babies out.

Loved them....still getting used to them. Really liked the 3 Iron. Now I am thinking about returning my 1 week old Burner 3 wood. I have never been able to hit a 3 wood. But the 3 iron I was getting around 210 Yards distance.

Read about concerns about hitting these woods from the rough, not a problem at all. They handled extremely well.

OK, I guess I am the first one to state these clubs are not that good. I guess the 3 and 4 are ok because they play more like a true hybrid albeit a shorter shaft than a 3 or 4 hybrid club. It is the 7,8,9,pw,and the DW[gap]clubs that are very disappointing. The latter; 7 through gap wedge really do not fit a hybrid style. They have a VERY hollow sound, not solid at all when struck. The other irons are just ok [5 and 6].I guess if someone can not hit any irons at all it is ok.

Customer Service

The reps.at Cleveland are fine and very polite.

I bought my set in April and went straight to the course and shot my best round of the year. There is absolutely no fear of the long irons anymore. HOWEVER .... After only 30 days of normal play the finish is chipping / flaking off of several of the clubs. They have been returned to Cleveland. Their initial response was that I needed to place head covers on them. Funny thing is there isn't a pro shop in Dallas/Fort Worth that knows anything about this. No head covers are available. Seems like a bandaid approach to a quality problem to me. If Cleveland does not come up with a better solution, I will be trading them another brand.... What a shame.

Fourth year of golf, just turned 60. Started playing with a cheap set from Dick's sporting goods, always felt I had to "kill" the ball to get any distance.. which I eventually got, with reasonable accuracy, after a wonderful trip to Dana Rader's Golf School. Local pro pushed (and I tried) Taylor Made; tried Mizunos and other better clubs thanks to friends. Finally settled on Cleveland HiBore Irons (for my 60th birthday). They are great! Distance is unbelievable, even with hits off the sweet spot, and the ball tracks straight. They are a wonderful confidence-builder, and in about 4 rounds I've gotten my low 100 game down to the low 90s... consistently.. and playing with my old clubs just "to check" gets me back into the 100s. Buy these!
