Great Feel Gotta get used to hitting it soft w/ a smooth swing works best. Equal weight transfer on lower body launches it well. Ever heard of aiming at the pin? Ever heard of hitting it super high landing soft within 13ft of the pin? Ever heard of Rocco Mediate using these and hitting a slight draw at everygreen in the US OPEN? Better believe it. I have never hit such soft, high, straight shots in my life! You can swing it fast but why do that when you can hit it 50% power and still have it launch? I bought and played per season PingI2'z,Mp33'z,CobraCb'z,Cougar'z from target~~ Um not even close Well Mp33'z helped me contact the ball 100% now thx Mp33'z. Anyways I think the yardagez you have to get used 2! i say 5 yards at most only with 100% connection! But straighter fo shoz. Need We Say More!! Re-Read the above again and again. Best of anything out there!

BEST IRONS EVER MADE (In the game improvement category)

I recently got a set (4-PW,AW - Steel) and I have to say I am very impressed with them and what they have done to my game. I have tried many different irons in my life, and these are probably the longest, straightest and easiest to hit ever made. If you are a beginner or high handicapper these are the perfect irons for you. Even low handicappers and professionals use the X series of callaway. They are versatile and forgiving. 110% recommended!!!

First of all, let me start by saying that I've bought and sold, meaning, tried everything on the market and quit simply, nothing beats a good round of lessons and these irons. I got mine fitted to me, 1 degree upright (they can be bent up to 3 degrees up or flat) and now, no pin is safe. I used to think that me at a steady 12 handicap could work my swing into a players set of irons, then I took a lesson from a local pro here in town and he asked me, "why are you working with such a hard club to hit. You're trying to find a sweet spot the size of a spit ball." He told me I had a good swing, and suggested I look for a good set of game improvement clubs that fit my eye. Well as Natalie Gulbis says, "you don't go to the golf course to work at golf, you go to play golf and have fun." and these irons allow you to do just that. If I'm going to a course that I've never played before, first of all, these irons are beautiful. Confidence inspiring and extremely well balanced, I feel I can take on any challenge a new course can dish out. Workability is really not a tweak with these irons, sure they hit long (and I do mean long!) and straight, but with the proper amount of hand movement in the swing, you'll find a soft draw every time. Block the hip movement and you'll soft fade every time. Great irons with a huge sweet spot and quality that is simply paralleled, but not beaten, by many other top club manufacturers such as Ping and Mizuno. Taylormade & Cleveland's product I thought took a couple of steps back, while the Rac LT 2 irons and the CG4 tours I thought were their best clubs not made anymore. Ping stepped up with their G5 and I5 line and never looked back. (who else here has a set of G2's with the little black inserts falling out.) and Mizuno still makes a great line of clubs for the better player, although they are doing great with the MX line as well. Callaway quality has been a mainstay. Their reputation for building golf equipment for the weekend warrior is unmatched. Don't feel that buying a set of these leaves you wanting the X22's, which I'm sure is as good a club at least. I know tour players that have had a set of X16's that look at the X20 and say, "yeah, I've already got that set of irons, just more broken in." Anyway, after saying all this, my driver is a Taylormade R7 425. I've tried the FT5 and I personally don't care for it. Meanwhile, the Big Bertha 454 2005 model is an absolute beast off the tee. See, to each his own. I suggest that if you've been struggling and getting frustrated at your game, do yourself a favor, next time you go to your golf lesson, take a set of these along and watch your swing come to life. If your smiling, then you must be having fun!

Customer Service

Callaway, not the best in personal customer satisfaction, but the quality of the product speaks volumes in itself. Edwin Watts golf stores in any state seem to be the most helpful and knowledgeable.

Model Reviewed: Callaway X-20 irons

Rocco Mediate used these exact irons to take Tiger to a playoff in the 2007 US Open. That says it all. These irons are the best I've ever hit, and I've played with many different sets over the past 20 years. They are long, straight, and forgiving. I've read some of the reviews on here, and am shocked to hear that some of you are trying to "work" the ball while claiming a mid to high handicap. I am a 6 handicap (and hope to be around a 4 after this year), and rarely work the ball!!! These clubs are capable of drawing/fading with some practice, but someone who shoots in the mid to high 80s and above should focus on clubs that are forgiving, straignt, and long. The x-20 set are those irons!!!

i've been changing my irons set quite a few time within 2 years of playing...my first set is Nike IGNITE....graphite R shaft then i swithced to Cleveland Launcher LP Graphite S shaft...

once i start to break 100...i realize that i should try the steel shaft one...and luckily, i got the second hand one from the internet (around 400USD) It gives me solid hit.. or even the happy accident eventhough i mis-hit the sweet spot on Par3....such a great club...and also the design; X-20 logo is very nice (eventhough it matched with the grey one like the tour series)

some might hate the uniflex shaft..but i just love it man...!! these are what i really want for so long...not too light but not too heavy and the impact moment is such a damn metal rock !!

The product is great.
It is solid and nice. The club is for anyone who wants to improve their game.
I would recommended this set to anyone who hit higher than 85(if you hit under 85, you should try blades like Mizuno).

Customer Service

I purchased from Pre-owned Callaway and the set was just like NEW. and 100 cheaper than NEW.

I have been hitting mizuno mx 20 irons for the past 7 years. Over the past 3 years I haven't played much golf. The past 2 months I've been playing once a week and decided to look into some new irons. My mizunos were bothering my elbows and wrists when I would have a miss hit. I'm only 32 and have a pretty high swing speed. I tried many irons and decided on the callaway x20 with the steel shaft. I played yesterday and never once had any pain. I don't think I was hitting them as long as the mizunos buy I was very happy with them!

I have a set coming. I used to beat my buddie by 5 strokes, and then he got the x20's. Now I am losing by 5....I hit his irons a few times, and the x20's are truly an elite club. I could believe how much more accurate they were, and the feel is amazing.

What are the low raters people smoking? X20 irons are the best game improvement irons. I've owned Pings (rapture and g5) and Taylormade r7 and the X20 is all-around the best of the bunch. Keep in mind, irons are a personal matter so what suits one player may not suit another. The X20s are solid, very well balanced, forgiving, and instills a lot of confidence at address. The Pings have the best feel out of the group. I really wanted to keep the Pings (either g5 or rapture model), because they are very well constructed clubs. But they are heavy clubs. When I sold my Pings the shipped weight for 7 clubs was 10 lbs. With other brands, 8 or 9 clubs equaled the same weight. Hence, I parted with both sets of Pings. The R7s on the other hand feels light. Nice clubs-- crisp feel at impact. The R7s require a more aggressive swing, and IMO a waste of energy. With the X20s I could put a smooth swing and get better results. Also, I didnt like the fact that the lofts were jacked up on the R7s. Hitting a 5 iron was as difficult as hitting a normal 4 iron. The X20s are great it has a ton of game improvement features, and most importantly it performs. When I hit a bad shot, I can't blame the clubs. The stability of these clubs helps promote a slow back swing and a full shoulder turn. The X20s are probably not for low handicappers. For people who gave a low rating for lack of feel, why are you even considering X20s or any other game improvement irons? Try MIzunos or other forged and don't give bad ratings for your lack of common sense. All around, the X20s are the #1 irons offered today. But you should try them out and see for yourself.

Customer Service

Cally is #1 in Customer Service. Ping and Mizuno close second. Taylormade needs to wake up and answer emails instead spending all their time on marketing.
